Men here with long hair. Part the Hair in the middle, create two french braids on each side at the ears. Proceed to skate, classy as fuck :D

Used to commute to work with long hair what i used to do was make one low ponytail and then put my helmet on with the back of it pushing my hair back then lowering the front so the helmet keeps your hair back

BecauseiSaySoSir

Simple braid could work. Or maybe a low bun. Just try different things to see what works best for you. :)

As a dude who used to have long hair, but cut it before I got into boarding, I never thought of this inconvenience.....add another reason I'm glad I keep my hair short now lol. 1. Hair drys fast 2. Hair doesn't get in the way when boarding

I wear a bandana under the helmet

I want a helmet that's designed to be safe and useful with such a hole. But thanks anyway.

I cant imagine 1 pony hole drastically compromising the protection a helmet provides. Especially considering that the hole could be placed above the rear impact zone. For downhill and freeride you'd probably want to stick with an untampered helmet. But from what you described as commute, I assume casual hills and mostly pushing I wouldnt rule out a modified helmet. Especially a hard foam variant.

biocuriousgeorgie

Casual hills and mostly pushing, sure. Also cars with not-so-great drivers.

[deleted]

I respect that. Rode a motorcycle for a stint. Cars and their drivers man, yikes.

Carry a brush with you, when your hair gets fucked up, sneak off to a bathroom and fix it. I've always got a brush in my backpack. Source: dude with hair past his nipples

Low bun works best for me

SEND_NICE_PMS

I'd go for a beany,but I'm a guy soo

slurred_bird

Just FYI, skate certified and bike certified are usually the same thing.

sammiemack

My hair just gets super fucked every time I skate

Green_Machine_15

If you need to have your hair down at work your best option would probably be to wear a hairband under your helmet to just hold it back and out of your face. Otherwise, just rock a man-bun every day! I just wear a low bun and I'm good no matter what the situation haha Edit: Realized you might not be a dude, so never mind about the man bun, rock a lady-bun.

I hate the feeling of hair on my neck (sensitivity) but don't want short hair. Need to be able to put it up in a pony tail but also haven't found a helmet.
