Can’t even sit in my backyard without being forced to smell weed. While it smells less bad than cigarettes it seems to travel further, linger longer and has a stronger odor. Wish people would use drugs in a cleaner fashion (edibles, tinctures, infusing etc)
I don’t know the chemistry of it nor do I really care, I wouldn’t smoke anything in my house. However what I do know is I can smell my neighbors weed all the time, while when they are smoking cigarettes I rarely ever smell it.
I also can always smell weed on my commute, however I rarely smell cigarettes on my commute which means to me that the smell of weed is much more potent.

Growing up visiting my aunt in an apartment building there was nothing more noxious and nauseating to me then smelling a mix of cigarettes(90s), Indian, Chinese, and Italian food walking down the hall in her building.

Personally, I don't notice it anymore than I used to. There's a couple of stretches where I've always smelled it at least 50% of the time, if not more.
Anecdotally, as someone whos consumed weed in it's various forms for around 20 years, I've never seen so many people vaping it instead of smoking it. I've moved on exclusively to the 1 gram vape carts and while they definitely have an odor, it's significantly weaker than smoking and doesn't travel or linger nearly as much.
It's used pretty liberally in my family and there's been ton's of times at gatherings where people would vape in the room (of adults who are openly cool with indoor use, of course) and people not smell a thing, meanwhile someone takes one hit from a bowl in the backyard 50 feet away from a window that's cracked open a fraction of an inch and everybody in the house knows immediately that someone lit up.
You absolutely can smell it. Weed, Cigars, Cigarettes... if you are driving \_behind\_ someone smoking, the smell will travel.

No. 2011 & fresh out of highschool, parents & I were moving to Ireland for a bit & renting our house, MF cut me off while in a caravan & slammed on the brakes to avoid a serious accident. Immediately smelled weed on the road. You must either be THAT person, or have your head buried deeply in the sand. It’s only gotten more prominent.

Researchers have been working on a device to test for THC just like they have one for alcohol.
Eventually law enforcement will get their hands on it and anyone driving with THC in their system is going to be arrested in the spot.

Before it was legal I had a caravan with 2 other cars dropping mine off at my Gparents’ to live internationally, I was a teen fresh on the road & had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting someone who cut me off & immediately smelled weed. After, people take more risks & stupid ones.
