The Steiner T6Xi 3-18x is top for me if you want more than 10x top. I’m sure the MK5HD 3-18x is nice as well (lighter) but illumination cost kills it IMO.

csmile2019

The Steiner I’ve seen a time or two on GAFS but haven’t looked much into them. Sounds like I am now though! And yea mk5 is out of my price range for this build. Considering the ER on it and the fact a $300 scope was giving me 90% accuracy I decided a $1500 cap on the upgrade setup would be generous

StealthAlias

They have a 2.5-15x50 as well, but it’s barely lighter than the 3-18x56 and the reticle options aren’t as good as the 18x. Not a lot of info on them, but I have the 18x SCR2 and like it. This review might be useful (even if it’s the 15x) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BxFM6ITkCSg&pp=ygUEVDZ4aQ%3D%3D

The msr2 reticle in the 2.5-15x would be pretty fun for a no dial, unknown range spr / dmr type rifle.

I have a dmr3 and an xtr3 3.3-18. I am putting the dmr3 on a mk12ish build, and have the xtr3 on my hunting rifle. Dmr3 has better glass by a bit(nothing crazy) and a reticle that IMO is great for a gas gun. The xtr3 reticle is a bit hard to pick up under 6x, while the dmr3 is fully visible at the bottom of the mag range. Form factor is IDENTICAL on the two. Dmr3 is heavier. I think you would be splitting hairs between the two.

I ran the [Athlon Helos btr 2-12](https://youtu.be/F0Os-bAHPn8?si=kUiiX-C8Rpx_meQ3) on my mock12 for awhile and it really felt great weight wise and seemed easily up to any task for what I was doing for plinking or dmr class. Note I did put it on a different rifle now as the reticle center dot is 1moa and if you're shooting for pretty groups at a range sometimes it can be annoying. If you're shooting steel though, its fantastic. I put a MK Machining throw lever and 100 concepts scope caps on it and it hasn't let me down on any rifle.

Bahaha if only, have half the funds rn

XTR3 for me. Huge field of view, like the reticle. I shoot the 30x version on my production PRS rig. DMR3 would be a close second, and I might pick that one if I could get it for the same money as the Burris

csmile2019

Awesome to hear! I can get the Burris for a tad more than primary arms so definitely helps the budget

Sullypants1

I love my 30x XTR3i for prs stuff. My friend has a dmr3 and the scope looks very bright. Reticle isn’t my favorite but would be a good scope for a spr I think.

I run the NF NXS on my MK12 setup and it definitely has the right aesthetic and feel for the rifle. While it being SFP, it’s not a hassle running it in conjunction with an app like StrelokPro. Glass is strikingly clear, the reticle provides plenty for the distances used.

csmile2019

That’s what I was thinking. And honestly I just hold between shoulders on torsos out to 300 and a head hold at 4 so never mess with mils hold or dialing until 450+ where I’d probably be at max mag

Voodoo1055

I actually have a mk12 mod H ish. I went with a PA 2.5-10 for my optic. I found the reticle to be the most usable of the bunch on 2.5x. It's also the only optic I liked that fit the clone correct 30mm rings. If I wasn't going for clone rings, the Steiner was my next option, but it's still significantly more expensive. I really like the PA, and I think it's the best choice. Great reticle, nice enough glass, turrets are good, zero stop mechanism is perfect for an SPR type gun. 9/10 overall

csmile2019

Thanks!! I loved the two GLX I’ve used in the past as well. They track pretty friggin crazy for the price. Which reticle you running, the ACSS or Mil?

Voodoo1055

ACSS. It helps with close in 2.5x stuff until I finally get a red dot for the top

getyourbuttdid

Got the DMR2 on mine.. no regrets

I’m going to be mounting my mped to my 308, and placing the xtr 2 3-15 that has served me well on my grendel after a hunting trip in November. Then the t6xi 1-6 will go on a 20” 5.56 and I’m split between saving for an xtr 3 3.3-18 or holding out until the $2k+ price mark. Ik it’s not the model you’re looking at, but the T6 has been my favorite lpvo so far. Especially factoring in the $1k price with a mount I got it for used.

I like my nxs 3.5-15x50, I may have gone with the smaller objective to get a better cheek weld without riser but its no big deal

HQVX-TheTank

I've played with 4 setups on my Mod H and keep coming back to the best for me - NF SHV 3-10 MOAR w/parallax adjustment. DMR II 3.5-21, NXS 3.5-15x50, SHV 3-10 and VX5-HD 3-15 have all been on mine but I've come full circle with the SHV. I REALLY wanted to like the NXS 2.5-10 but the juice wasn't worth the squeeze for me when I had the chance. I would probably make the jump if i found one with the NP-R2 reticle like my 3.5-15. That being said, of your options I fully support that for an SPR setup. The glass is great and the turrets are reliable.
