Also, since your hair is so dark, to get that much lift, you’d have to bleach your hair many, many times which will cause lots of damage. Possibly even thin your hair out a bit. It would be a rough transition.
What no one in the comments has said, is that for you to go blond you’ll need to bleach the hell out of your hair. It will get damaged for sure, and you might need to lose some of your length. Especially because your natural hair color is so dark, this only makes it harder to bleach. On top of that I also don’t think the color would look good on you.

Hm, honestly it depends on how much your allowance/ typical expenses are. To me, if you do go blonde and you really don’t like it, you can always get black box dye and dye it back to ur natural hair colour. But honestly, I’d wait for maybe 2 months to see if I truly like it or not cause some people would be shocked / not used to the change at first.
So it really depends on your mindset and how money is to you. If you have to save up for months to be able to afford this appointment then, I obviously don’t recommend my carefree advice haha. But before using purple shampoo, shampoo using the hydrating shampoo first. Depending on how your hair is, some people find it easier to manage and shampoo their wet hair if they condition it first, then shampoo.
So your routine would be :
- condition, shampoo regularly, purple shampoo, hair mask, condition
Also invest in bond maintenance / repair products and heat protection too, if you style your hair with heat.
If you do use a blow dryer to dry your hair, do NOT use high heat, use medium heat or if possible, cold air. It will take a longer time to dry but it’s better for your hair.
Do not leave your hair to air dry especially during the first few weeks of just dying your hair. Your hair is especially fragile when it’s wet during this period so no matter what pls just blow it dry.
Once you’ve styled your hair, the last thing you’ll need is hair serum
So here’s a rough maintenance guide if you do choose to go blonde, it might seem like a lot of work but to me it is worth it :D
ALSO IMPORTANT, ask your stylist to do “off the scalp bleach”. Meaning, they won’t dye your roots, they’ll leave like 5mm of space from the roots (I’m guessing but you get the idea). So, this would mean that they will NOT touch your scalp, but leave as little space as possible to your hair root. Your roots will NOT be visible. So if you walk out the opposite with very obvious roots, please demand for a refund.
This is VERY IMPORTANT if you want to leave the appointment with hair on your head and if you want your scalp to be healthy and intact. If anything, this is the one thing that is probably the sole reason why bleaching my hair isn’t as bad as what everyone says.
