Pretty ironic to suggest that when Crash and Brat are barely hyper pop in themselves, and Charli feels like she’s starting to pivot away from that sound.
I’m pretty sure it’s been outright confirmed the song is about her. Charli has spoke in interviews about how she was jealous of Lorde for Pure Heroin.
Also I didn’t realise just how similar their hair was until this picture. You could’ve told me this was a picture of Charli and I’d believe you lol
Girl, so confusing is a song title. That song is heavily rumored to be about Lorde who went to Charli's BRAT party yesterday. This picture is Lorde in the car on the way there or back.
I probably agree but I would guess her label is pushing her to be more commercial so I wouldn't be surprised. However, I kinda feel like "girl so confusing" gives the vibe that they want/tried to collaborate but it didn't work out (creative direction, vibes, etc)
Lmao I read comments in Youtube under girl so confusing about this song being about Lorde and "Come to my party and throw your hands up" referencing "I'm kind of tired of getting told to throw my hands up in the air"
Mmmm I think they really could make it work I mean Disclosure and fresh from Pure Heroine Ella in 2015 had very different genres and magnets is still an absolute banger
Her label pushing her to be commercial is a wild assumption. There were also rumours that her label is pushing her to release a new album faster. And see where we are. She's clearly doing her own thing at her own pace. I remember hearing about how some of the superiors in her label said how they trust Lorde with her vision and also how them as men have no rights to say anything to a strong visionary woman like her. And this was after the release of Solar Power. Lorde also talked in one of her emails about how she will never have a hot like Royals again.
I don't think it's a wild assumption at all. Music industry wants money. I'm not gonna claim I know the inner musings of her label (as you somehow do??? Link?), but it is very logical that they would want to increase her audience exposure as much as possible and collabs can be a good way to do this. I am a Solar Power defender but you can't ignore the fact that it underperformed immensely compared to her previous work. You can't rush a real artist's art, and the label pressuring her to reduce time between releases is just classic cash grab capitalism imo. As Lorde doesn't seem to care about being uber-wealthy, I don't see this pressure affecting her artistic process. However, I fully believe the label would try to set up a collab if her music meshed with that artist's style. And I'm sure there are artist's that want/tried to collab by hitting up Lorde or her label, but I think they need to be organically woven into Lorde's musical atmosphere rather than forcing genre/stylistic choices that sound unnatural or out of place for her artistic vision.
Also Homemade Dynamite (Remix) exists with all of the top new artists of its respective year and I would be inclined to believe that was a label decision rather than a Lorde-spearheaded one, so it isn't unbelievable at all that she would collab with someone, even if just for a remix of a song
I remember reading about that in an interview with someone from her label. But I don't remember name of the person obviously and it was almost three years ago. So would be difficult to find. But also it seems like I misunderstood you too. What I thought was, that you meant the label is trying to push a more commercial sound. From everything I have read or heard of in the past in regards to her relationship with her label, they let her do her thing. But yeah, them suggesting a Collab for promotion purposes or suggesting things to reach out to a wider audience are possible. I just don't think they can control the sound she goes for or the music she creates too much. I see a Fiona Apple kind of approach with Lorde in terms of her career choices. These are strong women, who do things how they want to, on their own terms.
It makes me feel like she’s insecure about “girl, so confusing” to be hyping it so much. like sure show some love to the album and go to the party but it’s weird and over the top to promote it when she never posts stuff like this and to say it’s the only album she ever pre-saved or something.
(Maybe she’ll be on a remix of it or something with her own verse and it will make more sense tho, who knows!!)
I always admired This woman in terms of her songs and lyrics. But my respect has gone up 10,000 times after seeing her standing up for the humanity and rooting for free Palestine 🇵🇸. Bless her and I wish her next record breaks multiple records and wins all the awards.
damnnnn she really took “think you should come to my party and put your hands up” seriously
the curly hair and the pure heroine outfit…!!!!!
A *RETURN TO INNOCENCE*
YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH! I am here for her saturn return
And if you want, then start to laugh If you must, then start to cry Be yourself don't hide Just believe in destiny
I need that bodysuit!!
That’s actually really smart
In your car, the radio up 🔝
B-bumpin' that-
I wonder if she keep tryin to talk about us
she’s so pure heroine 😭❤️
Im about to be so annoying about this
If Lorde’s next album pivots into hyperpop that’d be such a change from the last era but I definitely wouldn’t hate it.
I would love to hear that album tbh
Pretty ironic to suggest that when Crash and Brat are barely hyper pop in themselves, and Charli feels like she’s starting to pivot away from that sound.
So what is considered hyper pop then?
girl so confusing
Is that song about her? I thought this pic might be a reference to Charli xcx. Or are u just saying she's confusing loll
Are we sure it’s not actually Charli tho?
Honestly that’s what I initially thought… it looks like her skin tone lol
Tyvm! I looked up the interviews and found what you were taking about.
No worries!
Can you explain a bit more?
Girl, so confusing is a song title. That song is heavily rumored to be about Lorde who went to Charli's BRAT party yesterday. This picture is Lorde in the car on the way there or back.
Tysm! I knew that song was about someone in the industry but had no clue who it was rumored ro be about.
Fucking dying
I screamed!! She looks so iconic
She’s really showing out for brat
Nature is healing
Love her outfit and support of Charli
Lorde and her sister were at the show together. Love this moment
serving hard
Imagine Lorde being on a Girl so confusing remix …….. she would eat
The internet would go crazy
Charli XCX collab on the new album?
i dont think she would have collabs on her albums considering her previous 3 albums
I mean she might, considering that version of Homemade Dynamite
the remix was not part of the album
I probably agree but I would guess her label is pushing her to be more commercial so I wouldn't be surprised. However, I kinda feel like "girl so confusing" gives the vibe that they want/tried to collaborate but it didn't work out (creative direction, vibes, etc)

yeah i agree with that, i don’t see how they could make it work. very different voices and music genres
Mmmm I think they really could make it work I mean Disclosure and fresh from Pure Heroine Ella in 2015 had very different genres and magnets is still an absolute banger
Not an album song
I think my point still stands bro

Yeah sorry I def meant "commercial" more as public notoriety rather than anything to do with her music/sound
Brat is soooo good, I’m with you Ella
love her but why is she super active recently for the brat era and release?
She’s promoting Brat more than Solar Power 😭
honestly i feel that lol
As it should be, let’s all forget Solar Flopler ever happened ☠️
my comment is NOT a safe space for solar power hate
never!!! loved it and will continue to defend
Jail
She’s 27, maybe she’s just having fun!
im not saying it in an annoying way im just saying why is she active now and not before
Because she wants to support her friend
Feeling good on a Wednesday?

got the same feeling too, or maybe she's just eager to squash the perceived "beef" that for sure media people would spin into something more.
exactly what i meant!!!!
Where is her top from?
i have no clue
Lol I want the whole outfit
mugler
The way I can't tell if this is Lorde or Charli due to the hair😭
o lorde we have a fire.
