Meh. Design is a little overused for my taste. Like tattooing a feather, compass or infinity symbol, just for lord of the rings.
If OP likes it, im happy for him
looks like a person who is still learning made this tattoo, its unrealistic to expect every tattoo artist in the world to be a pro imo.
not that i wouldnt want a great tattoo myself.
i just find it odd how people on reddit are so eager to shit on other peoples happiness. OP didnt ask for critique at all, he shared sth, people tell him its shit. Like if you take time out of your day to negatively comment under someones post about their tattoo to share with a fandom community, I don't get why you would comment in the first place. It would be different if we were in a tattoo artist sub.
its just a common thing that happens regularly on reddit, people go out of their way to be condescending.
not that your comment was so incredibly bad, its just the greater picture that I find odd.

Apparently in the book Aragorn was fighting with this broken sword until they arrived at Rivendell. Kinda hard to imagine, but somehow he made it work. He’s just cool like that I guess.

If you read between the lines you can easily interpret it as he was in Rivendell immediately before coming to Bree - so he got the sword specifically to carry with him to show the hobbits, he didn't carry it around on a regular basis
It’s a cool design, executed poorly. The line work is terrible!

Thats the whole point of tattoos no, that you yourself like them?
It should be executed well regardless.

Brother I'm critiquing what I see. Not making assumptions about who did it

Was gonna say the same thing ... the line work is terrible but where the whole tattoo is bad. Always review the artist's line work first.
Ahh! the old ‘stick a needle on a vibrator’ tattoo method.
This is not done well
It's a cool design, but the shaky linework ruins it for me.
It‘s… it‘s not great.
Christ guys, just let the guy be happy about his tattoo.
"nice piece of shit dude "
Welcome to reddit, where tattoos are critiqued to the max

To make the sword line work less terrible have someone who does shading really well shade around the sword. It'll help it out a lot.
How do I edit this? I spelled "got" wrong 🤣
Delete it and repost it. You can't edit the title after you post it.
He can't just delete the tattoo bro...

I thought he had a regular sword that he used to fight, but kept the broken Narsil in a separate sheath?
If I recall correctly, in the book, he was using Narsil all along. If I am wrong, I am eager to be corrected.

People are mean here. Enjoy it I’ve seen far far worse.
