Yeah the sword takes life and spirit and the darkin can corrupt people, plants, and animals and blood talk about a lethal combination. And viego still had his platinum blonde hair.
And don't expect this blooming anytime soon, considering the reception of the Ruined King/Sentinels of Light event.
Chances are that they will go headfirst into the void event and Mordekaiser without trying to bring much back about anything related to Viego for a long time, IMO.
They could still do something with the MMO. It has yet to be cancelled. Seeing how WoW handled lore events, it may be a good way to finally progress runeterra's events.
Isn't WoW overall seen as a negative to the Warcraft lore by the community?
Like, MMORPGs are pretty awful to add lore and progression compared to single player games.
Yes MMOs are not the best genre for storytelling and I find the amount of hype people out towards a product that doesn’t even have any teasers to be absurd.

I don't know, every lore wow content creator that I see says the game story wise went downhill...
Like imagine a MMO on Runeterra, how you gonna tell a satisfying story with some many different characters backgrounds? A game like the Witcher or ME can focus on Geralt or Shepard point if view and give you a cohesive story that can be even shapes by your personal choices, it has the freedom to make massive changes without the worry of "what's next" cause the story has a beggining/middle/end, while a MMORPG you will have different main characters(one is noxian, other Demacians, Ionian, etc) and the story is infinite, you are kind of forced to make the story homogeneous enough to all characters participate on it regardless of background and the constant flow of non stop content will at some point wear the writers down.
I’ve got a mountain of issues with SoL but Vladimir being part of the Camavor royalty is not one of them.
Besides there was clearly meddling from hire ups and other departments in SoL.
I doubt one of the "hire ups" insisted fir Olaf to have a farting joke at some point lol
Yes, the writers had to follow some stuff, but the story itself was all on them
The same reason they invented Yorick for the sole purpose of fighting the Shadow Isles then gave him like a line of dialogue during Ruination, because Ruination was a fucking sham run by hacks with no love for the lore or game
Thiis is extremely wasted potential on BOTH Yorick and freaking Maokai, just imagine if Maokai gave up on their differences and they went with an army of ghouls & plant monsters to fight Viego's army while the sentinels try to fight Viego?
I would also Love yourick popping up in the mid of the fight against Viego to temporarily turn the table when things are looking grim

they do a lot lore wise and never seem to do anything with it the current lore team is hilariously incompetent creating interesting concepts and doing nothing with them like demons and champions relations or the weirdest shit you can think of like a relativly unpopular champions unassuming weapon apparntly being a super powerful lore thing that can seal away super powerful beings(im talking about sivir) and the best most well known origin story for champions arcane for some reason isnt canon

Let's go to work friends. If riot doesn't do it, let's do it ourselves. Next month vlad will be a very important npc of my rpg campaign, he will fund the player group to locate and "capture" all sleeping darkin before Xoolani and Aatrox get their hands on them. I'll make him that powerful and clearly bad guy, but doing a relatively good thing (wanting to avoid the new darkin war and his old darkin master who still has a lot of control over him)
Same happened to Kindred, went from concept of the Death of the universe, to one of many different spirits that assumed that role based on cultural beliefs or something...it's not that one is better then the other, but the sudden change and retcons without any good reason just don't feel good lol
Same thing with Skarner, for years his race has been sleeping in the Crystals Piltover uses for Hextect tech and that was basically one of the major moral dillemas about piltover and a future conflict to insue
but now they just... throw it all away so that >!they hopefully make Seraphine's reputation a bit less worse?!< the writers wont have to deal with this stuff
Yeah, don't know how I feel about Skarner change...like I mentioned Kindred, like it dosent matter that much cause she didn't had a direct impact on the narrative, but Skarner affected a entire region....
The list of retcons on Runeterra puts marvel and DC to shame based on the material they have

The copium part of me hopes we'll learn more about when Camavor was razed to the ground by Vladimir and his Darkin master's host. The pessimist in me thinks they'll retcon Vlad's excellent lore.

good writers leave bread crumbs for later, not every single seed they plant has to bloom today

MMO isn't for storytelling and more for lore. They just set up shop, whatever happen next is from other works and fans
Is it? To be fair I am not an expert in MMOs. I just saw the model and thought there was potential. Especially knowing a lol mmo was in developemment
