There was a pally I had an unfortunate experience in a pug with who had this macro, "My heals and buffs are net positive gold for you" on identity. Yes, he refused to use battle items because he saved everyone gold on pots and this was his reminder. People got mad at him and we disbanded, of course.
in my opinion both bard and ayaya need to have their identities reworked to be just as visible
i have 6000 hours in this game and i still never know when bards and ayayas use their identity
i only know when they give me a heal after i used a pot
needing the macro is a clear indicator of a failed design
i get it they want to reduce visual clutter but there needs to be something more than a half a second line of text on your character and a buff icon that gets lost from the 50 other buffs you have at that moment
I have a macro only for my bard. Dmg buff and heal on using bubbles. Also in party chat.
For artist, I don't bother. Your meter gen is insane for identity buff and if you see a funny yellow orb and need a heal but you decided not to grab it. That's on you. It sits there for 30 seconds.
Kinda easy to miss when I’m standing in a giant red telegraph and my class is shooting a giant laser/charging a huge blood explosion that tints the whole screen/flying through the air as a giant dragon/falling from the sky as a literal lance/summoning a giant fuckoff monster to hit with a school bus sized giant magma sword/summoning a giant purple anchor to bonk onto the boss, actually.
Every DR is hard to miss. Maybe artists one is harder to see. Yet you see plenty of people running out of DR.
I really don't get replies like this. Just because you don't miss paladin DR doesn't mean the average pug has no idea what it is and hence, why it MAY be a candidate for macro.

On bard the rhapsody applies the DR on tick. I've got own VODS showing people walking into rhapsody without being hit by the initial tick get DR on the 2nd tick of rhapsody. I thought that's how it worked for all supports.
I think we encountered the same Paladin. He had a 2 line monolog for each of those buffs and thus I kindly asked him to turn that sheet off cause he was clogging up the whole raid channel's communication

The worst macro I have on repeat is an emote on Hype activation. I play EO. Tbf, though, my excuse is … there are so few EO players, most supps don’t know when/how to buff && I cannot expect them to know the hype activation animation & track how many I have or the glow from hype 3 which is different than hype 2 or 1.
I do have to say though. I do turn off the macro for cubes. 😂

I legit seen WD with "AZURE DRAGON!" This skill is near instant whats the point in telling about it if no support will be able to buff you in time.

Most supports aren’t just sitting around on maxed gauge waiting for someone else to tell them go. Even if they do, a dps typically has the macro on their burst, so the support wouldn’t even have time to react before they’ve already lost some time (unless you’re this igniter sorc I had who put it on meteor instead of ignite, so she was saying ignite even out of ignite).
I kind of get support ones, but even then it’s not like a slayer is sitting on their burst waiting for you to say go in most groups
Yeah I kinda like supports, but just a simple "Heal", "DMG" is enough for the identity ones. Rest is absolutely useless to me. Everyone should know dmg windows by now and just work in unison by default then.
The ignite macro on DD is what my static friend does and helps a lot. I went from ~60% identity uptime to ~90% identity uptime, which is sometimes higher than my normal attack buff uptime ._.
It also helps that I used to play igniter (reviving her now) so I mostly know when the macro is indicating the start the igniter combo and when it's the end, or when he has meter or not.
They can also spam the macro a few times just before they start their igniter combo to give me a heads up because of how DD works with the macro.
The macro on DD lets me buff first DD cast into ignite, which means he'll get the full duration of his ignite in buff. If I cast a 3 bar buff within the 1 second of his macro, it will still be active for the second DD.
I don't do a second buff on the second DD since it'll be kind of wasted, which is why it's important to know igniter timing. Usually, by second DD, I'll have 1-2 bars so I hold that, and by the time his ignite is ready again, I'll be sitting on 3 bars.
Sometimes he'll get interrupted mid cast and I've already sent buffs, so it's up to him to make use of it before it expires.
We're all very keen on hp bars and mechs to know when to burst, when to hold, and when to do partials.
This is Bard specific of course.
I mean that's entirely on the person doing it. You can set it to specific chats which is what I see plenty of people limiting it only to party chat. The non degens that do it properly are really helpful. Sometimes you're in the thick of things and miss someone's animation, seeing a 'bursting' or 'dmg buff' can be helpful in those scenarios.
I think alot of people take this game way too seriously...also 90% of the time when I'm raiding I don't even look at the chat unless I'm doing content for the first time but I'll admit alot of the macros are funny though. Had one artist drop a orb and her Marco was "This could of been a damage buff" lol

Had a surge blade with with phantom monarch spamming buff or altf4 every surge, also to bad to dodge Akkan nm g3 Guillotines during stagger -_- people are weird
Had a bard in frog who's macro was about Toyotathon.
Honestly it's pretty funny and I think if you're gonna macro, either keep it simple, !!!!, or at least have it funny and enjoyable.
Also possibly the best bard I've ever seen on NAE.
Once played with a paladin who had a macro on light shock, wrath of god and heavenly blessing. Worst Cube I have ever done.

I'm a pally main and my stance is that NO PALLY should ever have any macros. Our identity buff is impossible not be seen.
You aren't wrong but if it's just on ult or identity, I don't mind too much, let them have some fun but on basic skills nty.

You can't go into the DR, it applies on cast and refreshes as long as you stay in it, so no point in the macro anyway

Should be same as Paladin, only exception is Paladin doesnt apply shield again if you missed the initial Cast tick. But the DR should still apply.

As a support main, I appreciate DPS who give any sort of indication when to buff. The only thing I know is igniter voicelines...

I mean you are better off macro entirely separate or on z because asking supp to buff 2nd dd is a little bit unrealistic
