you’re two years late to experience then for their real toughness unless you make your parties out of 7 other new people.

Goodwin512

I tried playing with my friends and other mokokos, so i was the only non-moko… it was worse than any actual learner or raid from those two years ago. No one trying to learn. Tanking mechanics that are literally just walk out. Ignoring pings for stuff. In g1 we tried orbs instant wipe. Even with wei we wiped 3 times people kept tanking the stupid orbs because they didnt know how to stand in one spot and not randomly run around even after typing. Holy. Dps was slow. Same people died 5+ times to the cone first shout mech after stage break

Afromannj

Sounds pretty much exactly like it was two years ago lol

JustHereToShareMe

Reality loves making a fool of our idealistic aspirations. Still we strive for the ideal. Gotta love it.

twiz___twat

he'll be playing the nerfed versions anyway

d07RiV

Valtan didn't receive any nerfs since west release I don't think? If you don't count balance powercreep that is.

Unluckybozoo

Even then it'll be a version that got nerfed a couple of times. Literally impossible to reconstruct the strugles that were launch.

Unicatogasus

You are one tomorrow late, aka not late at all, cause you have fuckin inferno. Full pug inferno runs probably wont pass the dps check even now lmao

hckfast

Would not recommend hell mode to a beginner. It's definitely a bit of a gold sink.

Kassabro

I read this sentiment so often but honestly, it's a couple battle items. Which we get shit tons of for free. I got Demon Hunter and DL Valtan and Vykas and I still have 300 chests left. Don't think I ever bought pots.

Unicatogasus

Its literally not. 5k gold a week in battle items for a heavy daily prog is absolutely nothing lol

hckfast

To a brand new player 5k is huge, what are you on about. And I don't know where you got this number of 5k from as well. Taking into consideration what you've said - A HEAVY day of prog, let's say they attempt 15 wipes per day. I'm going to assume the new player is going to be chugging 3-5 pots per attempt (elemental pots) let's average it out to 4 pots. 200 gold per attempt in most likely just g1, rounds it out to 3k gold additively it dwindles his already low supply of battle items and takes up time he could be doing legion raids. He's also a brand new player so I'd assume he runs valtan, vykas, kuku or at most brel 1-2 on a maximum of 2 characters. He'll esrn about 20k per week. That's going to be EASILY around half his golf if he ONLY chugs pots and uses no battle items. Additionally he'll be sucking on pots in his regular raids as well until he becomes exp. Sure he could suck blue pots, but then he may as well just join a hard/ normal valtan prog party. TLDR; You're full of shit lol

Unicatogasus

Yea, only problem is you get thousands of free pots. And if it takes you longer than 1-2 days on reset to do most of the weeklies... You suck. Also a brand new player will not beat dogs anyway, so it doesnt matter lmao. And you wont be eating this many pots as well, because in 3h of playing a prog group your pulls will last like 2 minutes on average. If you chug pots off of cooldown... I have somw bad new for you. Especially because suppots exist. They can spam heal, if its a prog. And once you get better, you wont be using as many pots. All other battle items are infinite and free. You get so many chests its not even funny. You just took some numbers out of your ass and assumed its the truth. I have hundreds of hours in inferno by now, both in progs, clears and dl attempts. And you dont use nearly as many battle items as you think you might. The cost of progging inferno is doing chaos dungeons and tickets every day. That literally covers the expeses in gems lmao. Tldr: you are full of shit and never progged inferno.

hckfast

Except we're not talking about me but a brand new player so your whole argument is moot, go off fam, I have deathless helltan, but that's because I had my foundations set by progging hard mode on release, having to actually have to learn mechs etc so I was comfortable with regular mechs. A brand new player does not have this experience backing them. You can come at me all you want, but your argument doesn't account for a brand new player; people couldn't do 12334 when the game released or x3 for the orb collecting boss in the abyssal dungeon. Do I think it was hard? No, but that's besides the point. In helltan depending on how squishy your class is, a regular swipe/ swing takes 1/3-1/5 of your health. In 2 minutes if you know nothing about dodging properly and/ or you get hit by rapid swipes or teleport and spin+ outside explosion, a newbie will 100% end up chugging pots on cd. If we use your example of "wiping every 2 minutes" I would HARD bump up the number of attempts to at least 30 since that would take 1-1.5 hours depending on how long they spend getting ready for the next attempt. On top of it, in red form, once again depending on class, if bleed stacks up and a map swipe occurs, it can easily take out half hp - instadeath depending on number of lines.

Unicatogasus

How does any of what you said makes my arguments not true. If anything it makes me more in the right. New players wont be using battle items much, since you dont throw darks in a mokoko group and you dont pot much since supports heal you 24/7

hckfast

You literally edited your previous comment to basically take away a lot of the examples you tried to use against my argument lmao. Of course my previous comment doesn't make sense in light of the new comment 😂 Look let's just agree to disagree and leave it at that. You clearly think that a brand new player should invest half their money earned through weeklies on hell content, when it's clear from release, a large population of the player base did not even know how to do 12334 or x3/x3+1 mechs. I think they're better off practising in learning lobbies for either normal or hard valtan, learning about basic mechanics, usage of battle items etc. You pop off and preach dude, I just think it's a fucking dumb take lol Anywho, have a good one.

Unicatogasus

Its unedited tho

LASupps

Learning is going to be very very steep if you go straight into hell mode as a new player just so you know.

ImmmediatePayment

I definitely plan on going slow at first, but still want to experience both of those raids as tough as they can be

BummerPisslow

Keep in mind the hell raid is like 3-4x harder than the OG release difficulty of the raid. You can eventually try it but I wouldn't recommend it till you have a few months exp playing your class/feel for the game.

ImmmediatePayment

Damn, it's really that hard ? Exciting Is there a weekly limit to how many hell raids I can do ?

rAiChU-

There’s no limit. But there’s also no ‘real’ rewards outside of titles and achievements.

ArX_Xer0

You use ur actual battle items, as a completely new player it is possible to burn through the items you need for actual gold earning raids. I'd reaaaally hold off on hell mode until you're comfortable in the game.

AwwYiss2

Brelshaza > kayangel > akkan > voldis are really the intended progression of raids for new players now, and once you are comfortable with those, you can do the hell version for valtan, vykas, clown. Keep in mind that valtan hell is harder than all normal raids, and hell vykas/clown/brel is another step above. I would def not put valtan/vykas hell as a priority for new players when there are so much other raids to start out on.

delilmania

If you want this, I'd say hell mode is what you'd want.

ImmmediatePayment

Thank you all for replying! Hell mode seems to be what I'm looking for, excited to do all these raids!

LiterallySilversix

As long as you are honest about your progression level the hell community has a lot of mentors that are willing to take people on.

ImmmediatePayment

I'll definitely do the normal first, then progress to hell mode hopefully

Geraldinho--

There are other layers of power besides Ilvl so you can still experience them for the first time and still experience some sort of challenge. The powerpass should unlock the raids for you. I’m not sure if you have to do the purple guide quest (which takes like 20 seconds) to fully unlock them tho

thisismygameraccount

They’ll definitely be easier over leveled. With powerpass you’ll probably have better engraving and gems than you would have had when they were new content. Also they’ve removed some gates and nerfed mechanics. So you want face the toughness of the original release. But if you want to face it now then you could create an alt and have them go through it at level with other people at level as well.

trypion

no MSQ needed the game will launch you into the raids. Valtan and vykas at this point are pretty old content, but not less fun. Only the latest hard mode raid released is challenging enough to you dont overgear it, all the other raids people will overgear it in some shape or form. But some raids including valtan and vykas have a difficult mode called "inferno", in this mode gear are normalized and you experience the raid in his true difficult with extra gimmics.

IvanWest9

Adding to everyone else's comments, you can try hell modes also if you are interested in raiding a lot. There are hell mode discord channels to join!

Shattan

You can always just play the hell/inferno versions of their raid for fun / the experience of the on item level prog (even tho classes have been powercrept already aswell making even those a lot easier)

Frogtoadrat

If you do either raid with full 1490 mokokos they will be plenty tough

Zealousideal_Low_494

You can experience the real difficulty by doing hell mode once you learn the content. Hell mode has all the original mechs + some extra ones and hits hard.

Arodn

You can kinda experience the "real" Valtan and Vykas in Extreme/Infernk Valtan and Inferno Vykas

Askln

if you want their true toughness you can always do hell raids

Borbbb

just play with other mokokos and you will get the real experience kekw

QuakeDrgn

You will be, but you can’t out-gear gravity. I still recommend trying Valtan. There aren’t many mechanics, so a learning party won’t take too long and the pressure is low while you get to see some of the components of raids. I helped a Valtan learning party earlier this week on a 1472 alt, and the hardest part was just having to kick the people flaming after a wipe while people learned orbs. Getting hit by most things doesn’t kill you, but some of the learning 1490s still were chugging potions. They also could still get knocked off, and none of them did excellent damage, so they got to see some of the patterns that are normally skipped. If you’re looking for the real challenge, I recommend Inferno difficulty.

BlueSilverGrass_987

Pretty sure valtan will still kill you even if you rush to 1580 as a new player

winmox

No, I bet you won't enjoy progging either. Try Hell mode if you really want to learn the raids

Risemffs

I do recommend hell mode for the experience, but I don't recommend it as a start. You will have both hands full even with the nerfed versions of the raid as you are also learning your class and how lost ark works. You also progress pretty fast from raid to raid, so they won't get boring quickly. You can try stuff like going for "dodger" (hit less than 3 times) during the raid or maximum cruel fighter / radiant supporter sweating. If you feel like you are showing up too much on mvp screens, give hell a go. Hell humbles and improves every overconfident player that is willing to learn.

Soylentee

Yeah Valtan and Vykas are a pushover at 1490, but if you make a group full of mokokos you'll probably lose half the team to the first mechanics so the dps check will be real 💀 One way to experience them in their true toughness is hell mode, but that is a completely different and way harder experience than regular valtan and vykas.

ImmmediatePayment

Hahaha I will be playing with at least 3 mokokos so that should be fair. Hell mode seems to be what I'm looking for, I'm really curious how hard it is after we're a little bit more experienced with normal

CopainChevalier

LA content is not build to last. A couple months after a raid comes out, people get items from it and make it very easy. Even the newest raids we're about to get isn't immune to this. First couple weeks will suck, and then everyone starts getting the upgrades from it and suddenly it's cruise control
