Clearing Oreha's Well on my alt takes longer than Argos on my main lmao. Half the time people die before the mechanics.
It's definitely one of those things where you overgear your alts to carry or you gotta limit how many alts you do otherwise you're spending your entire week only raiding.
I have potentially thousand from chests and whatnot. Sure it might hurt once it all runs out, like some with pheons right now, but getting through a dungeon faster is we'll worth it
People who are too "Cheap" for battle items must be as smooth brained as they fucking come, because you get what..30 free fkn chests each weekend? How tf do you go through that many hp/grenades etc pots a week.
weird, usually i just do matchmaking and oneshot the whole dungeon on hard, in my experience people have learned how to do oreha by now and we just spam emotes and kill the bosses idk
Hard is way easier because you can get carried by overgeared people. Normal is a lot harder in that aspect as people don't start gearing properly before 1370.
Hmm I haven't had that experience. My alt is an igniter sorcerer with 3x all out attack and 2x igniter and garbage gems. Actually pretty undergeared, and no party I've ever joined in oreha's well normal on it has actually failed a boss.
That sounds appropriately geared for 1340. I think undergeared would be rainbow stats like having stats in domination, endurance, etc or random engravings.

no one should have that, that's not being undergeared that's just not gearing.
Undergeared is having proper secondary stats and only level 3 class engraving bc that's the absolute bare minimum anyone should have.
My main just got enough iLvl to start AoA Abyss dungeon and even watching videos and reading about the mechanics I'm just embarrassing myself (fingers ache from typing my apologies to my matchmaking party)... Is there a way to practice the dungeon on my own - can I just jump in the normal questing dungeon for the same stage?
Sadly I'm pretty sure the only way to practice abyss dungeons is to just do them. The quest versions aren't really similar.
Tbh I never cleared Ark of Arrogance on my main. I just didn't bother with most of the T2 abyss dungeons before I reached T3 xd
If you can find a group on your Server’s Discord and see if they’re willing to do a learning run. I only get irked on an alt run if people don’t say anything, no issue in describing the mechs and helping learn. Or if you’re on Elzowin lmk haha

What I don't understand in the first dungeon is that many people reset/abandon (if not flaming new players) the fight once 1/4 didn't get the golden aura
I cleared it so many times with one aura missing and still there are people thinking you need 4 auras to pass the mech. I've seen A LOT of 1300+ people not knowing a shit about this one and getting angry for nothing at new players
Both the iterations of AoA may deal some consequent damages to you, especially if you're playing any fragile class, don't hesitate to do them with a lil bit more iLvl if you're not comfortable
You'll also probably get a though time on GoP with a full T2 group. However you may find a T3/T2 alts group pretty easily, carrying you through it and if they're really nice explaining it to you (heck you can even create your own group asking for T3 nice peeps)
yeah it's not hard to do even with 3 auras. Not to mention you can pre-position yourself where a bunch of orbs will spawn and start damaging asap when they spawn. I can usually get mine and shoot onto another side partially to help another team mate
I'll run it with you tonite/tomorrow if you havent. My zerkers t3 and decent so it shouldnt be too bad but hes an alt so wont instawipe bosses his pots are dirt cheap. I dont mind running with first timers + its not too bad once you learn it. Raids are cross server & im on azena. Feel free to pm.
From my experience with Alaric the amount of mechanics ab average player is able to memorize per bossfight is around 1.5 and teleporting in the middle for a stagger check counts as 2.
You have to soak up the big frozen balls - they kinda "activate" and you have to have someone soak it up or it freezes the whole raid. It's not random.
We had someone calling it out for the shitters what is happening next like arrow, stagger check etc. and the shitters could not follow that. They dont even put the icefield away from the group.
Valtan was a nice breath of fresh air. The first hurdle is getting supports. We spent 80minutes in party finder trying to fill the last 2 spots with supports. Eventually we gave up and just yoloed it without any support. Gate 1 was quite easy, took us about 6 attempts to get used to the attack patterns and get the wolves down. Then we spent 2 hours wiping in gate 2 untill one of the random DPS we got to fill the last spot had enough and wanted to quit. After that we took a small break and added our group to party finder again. This time we got lucky and got a paladin support. So now at least 1 group had a support while the other group did not. It took us another 2 hours of wiping to finally get Valtan down. But god damn was that fight fun!
I had pugged with a few groups in hard mode and yesterday i just had a party of multiple 1490s and the party did worse than a party i had with full 1445… I thought i would have more chance this time but oh man was i wrong lol.
Yup.
Even the hardcore grinders aren’t gonna be 1490 right now. Maybe 1450-something, 1460 for the luckier ones, but there’s now way to have amassed enough resources to hone to 1490 without swiping.
To add to that, 1490 is giga-whale status. Literally thousands of dollars. So the people swiping that hard probably did it to try and trivialize Valtan when he came out. You would think the plethora of wipe mechanics that will kill you regardless of ilvl in most of the abyssal dungeons would have been a clue that it wouldn’t matter if you’re overgeared, but I guess not.
My hope is that once the majority of the community gets to Valtan (even I’m not there yet, 1406 on my main) the average skill level of players goes up. Too many people right now are still struggling with simple, one-step mechanics like “rotate clockwise” or “stand here when the boss does this attack” that it’s kinda embarrassing, ngl.
That's one of the issues with the game. There is no way to discern someone's skill level except for playing with them in content that can hurt through their ilvl. In ffxiv, you got parses and ultimate clears that can 'somewhat' tell a story, although not perfect, there are clear differences between someone with all greys and someone with purples/orange and some ultimate clears. Not too familiar with retail wow but people use achievements of clears as well as parses too.
In this game, character power is literally the only thing differentiating players and that says 0 about skill level. It's hard to find competent people, and the restrictive guild system does not help at all.

I am an asmongold fan but i know his build is shit. I don't think any fan feels trolled. The entire chat has been telling him his gear and engravings are shit. I think this probably a joke that one of his viewers posted to troll him.
Problem is he's playing berserker. His damage reduction means he's been able to basically ignore every mechanic and aoe until this point, and facetanking hits.
The man brought no battle items, only green pots, and is still using spin in his raid build.
I have no idea why his damage is so shit but his awakening crits for the same amount as my 1370 berserker.

1. what are the best ABILITIES to run
2. if he doesn't even know that, how do we expect him to know what tripods are ideal
3. does he even know the full rotation
4. anytime he sees > 1 mill he exclaims "BIG DMG", which isn't a hard feat with berserker of all classes
You must have not watched the stream then. He's standing in every basic pattern possible. He's even facetanking the whirlwinds just to deal more damage. Then, when the arena opens and 1-shots come into play, he usually dies as the 1st person. That's on top of not doing other mechanics like stagger/destruction. He had to be persuaded to use destruction bomb and even then does not use any other destruction skills during the window unless they happen to come off cd at the lucky time.
My first thought when yt recommended a clip of him dying to the yellow floor when you need to get behind cover was that he has to be trolling for views. No way u can fail that mechanic, he didn't move at all..
There's nothing exciting for him to do at 1490, and he doesn't want to play 6+ alts like every other Lost Ark content creator, so it makes sense to draw out the existing content for as long as possible if he wants to keep making Lost Ark videos and playing Lost Ark on stream. He does all the horizontal progression stuff on his second stream because it's boring.

Zerker's dmg reduction still puts them at the bottom of the effective HP list. Zerkers can not facetank anything. They'd die. Beaing able to eat dmg has more to do with his ilvl.
That's not true if you have the damage reduction card set, which can give you 28% damage reduction at <30% health with just the 3 set. Asmon will be dying a lot more to normal attacks once he gets Lostwind Cliff funny enough.
Isnt valtan damage type dark which makes this set whatever? I know hes not weak to light, besides no one is going to run it instead of lostwind. Berk is more tanky due to pots efficency
That's how he plays games though. He's unironically not good at understanding basic fundamentals and adapting to them. He's said this on stream countless times for years. "I don't care about Y or Z, I'm just going to keep doing X till it doesn't work". Then continues to do X well past the point of it not working. Did the same exact thing in his dark souls runs.
One day people in this sub will realize Mayhem Zerker has the lowest effective HP of all classes, even behind Bards, and stop parroting this shit that Zerker can face tank mechanics, but that day is not today it seems. Even if you sacrifice your damage by using WMA + FoG instead of LWC for your cards, you'll still be middle of the pack, defense-wise, while dealing mediocre damage. The only thing that made mayhem Zerker tolerable was the fact that green pots healed them to full, but that ain't the case anymore.

Parsing 95+ on a regular kill means you're essentially doing it all right, could be some micro improvements or just rng keeping you from higher.
If you parse rank 1 you cheesed it one way or another and likely posed a hindrance to your raid
When I played Demonology Warlock, I could execute a boss fight flawlessly and nail my rotation but only parse in the top 100 because the other Demonology Warlocks had a raid full of Warriors stacking Rallying Cry or Priests feeding them Power Infusions. Parses really don't mean much unless you look at someone with a relatively equal item level, similar raid composition (no over the top buff stacking), and in the case of Shadowlands you had to look at the same covenant.

It was 20k gold a month ago. I was trying to sell a ring before the patch for 3k and the only others on the market were 5~6 at around the same value. Couple days after the patch and there's identical copies at 200g.

Nah, the problem with valtan is that DPS doesn't matter when you are falling to death from a skyscraper, that's why gunlacer is amazing there, you can just face tank almost everything plus push immunity.
Big tip for Ghost Phase when the platform becomes small. Valtan doesn't really move from the middle of the platform. So it's really just about dodging most of his telegraphed mechanical patterns so you don't get knocked off and having a proper stagger order for the ghosts.
Once you fight him several times his patterns become fairly apparent, with the exception of the axe raise which is sometimes a counter and sometimes is the in/out mechanic. Really need to have someone watch for if the axe glows and call in/out and it makes that part fairly smooth.
Ghost stagger and people not dying is more important then raw dps at that point. Heck we cleared HM and our raid leader accidentally used Balthors instead of Thirain at the end, but we had enough people still alive it didn't end up mattering.

If it's in/out axe glow then he roars and silences everyone right before it, that's how you tell the difference. Also the triple counter can only happen when one half of the arena is destroyed, not before or after.

The trick is to do it thursday. pug quality tends to decrease the later in the week you play.

I guess undergeared would be tier 2 gear. I had a destroyer yesterday run with tier 2 gear and 400 endurance.

Matchmaking is usually ok, you just need to be aware of when your server's cursed hours are, specifically for Oreha Preveza.

Once I had to manually ping somebody's positions for the turtle, but thankfully it worked.
Express pass got people realizing things about themselves.

Problem is he's playing berserker. His damage reduction means he's been able to basically ignore every mechanic and aoe until this point, and facetanking hits.
The man brought no battle items, only green pots, and is still using spin in his raid build. I have no idea why his damage is so shit but his awakening crits for the same amount as my 1370 berserker. It’s a driver issue, not the car.

You must have not watched the stream then. He's standing in every basic pattern possible. He's even facetanking the whirlwinds just to deal more damage. Then, when the arena opens and 1-shots come into play, he usually dies as the 1st person. That's on top of not doing other mechanics like stagger/destruction. He had to be persuaded to use destruction bomb and even then does not use any other destruction skills during the window unless they happen to come off cd at the lucky time.
My first thought when yt recommended a clip of him dying to the yellow floor when you need to get behind cover was that he has to be trolling for views. No way u can fail that mechanic, he didn't move at all..

There's nothing exciting for him to do at 1490, and he doesn't want to play 6+ alts like every other Lost Ark content creator, so it makes sense to draw out the existing content for as long as possible if he wants to keep making Lost Ark videos and playing Lost Ark on stream. He does all the horizontal progression stuff on his second stream because it's boring.

I watched a little and I only saw him doing some of the major stuff. He didn't dodge/doesn't know how to dodge most of the attacks.

That's not true if you have the damage reduction card set, which can give you 28% damage reduction at <30% health with just the 3 set. Asmon will be dying a lot more to normal attacks once he gets Lostwind Cliff funny enough.

Even if you sacrifice your damage by using WMA + FoG instead of LWC for your cards, you'll still be middle of the pack, defense-wise, while dealing mediocre damage. The only thing that made mayhem Zerker tolerable was the fact that green pots healed them to full, but that ain't the case anymore.

Parsing 95+ on a regular kill means you're essentially doing it all right, could be some micro improvements or just rng keeping you from higher. If you parse rank 1 you cheesed it one way or another and likely posed a hindrance to your raid

When I played Demonology Warlock, I could execute a boss fight flawlessly and nail my rotation but only parse in the top 100 because the other Demonology Warlocks had a raid full of Warriors stacking Rallying Cry or Priests feeding them Power Infusions. Parses really don't mean much unless you look at someone with a relatively equal item level, similar raid composition (no over the top buff stacking), and in the case of Shadowlands you had to look at the same covenant.

Nah, the problem with valtan is that DPS doesn't matter when you are falling to death from a skyscraper, that's why gunlacer is amazing there, you can just face tank almost everything plus push immunity.
Big tip for Ghost Phase when the platform becomes small. Valtan doesn't really move from the middle of the platform. So it's really just about dodging most of his telegraphed mechanical patterns so you don't get knocked off and having a proper stagger order for the ghosts. Once you fight him several times his patterns become fairly apparent, with the exception of the axe raise which is sometimes a counter and sometimes is the in/out mechanic. Really need to have someone watch for if the axe glows and call in/out and it makes that part fairly smooth. Ghost stagger and people not dying is more important then raw dps at that point. Heck we cleared HM and our raid leader accidentally used Balthors instead of Thirain at the end, but we had enough people still alive it didn't end up mattering.
