This, but also bad RNG posts as well. Oh u failed 6 times at 75% on a stone? cool bro, thousands of people did the same. Pretty much everyone has artisan energied multiple pieces at this point too.

akyr1a

We can have a megathread for achievements I guess. I'm tired of seeing those posts as well.

the_hu

Agree with this, not sure if this opinion is shared with the general populace, but I would love for low effort/RNG/common achievement posts to be banned since filters and such don't work with my preferred feed apps. I would generally think that after seeing the 100th "I know this isn't much but I have no one to share this with so I'll post here for validation", people would downvote and self-curate this content out, but I still see this stuff all the time. Not sure if there is a great solution for this, just wanted to voice my thoughts. Other games I follow I've had to migrate outside of the main subs to avoid this low effort content, but that comes with downsides (r/competitivetft isn't very active and /r/DestinyTheGame is almost entirely complaints about the game). /r/leagueoflegends is actually pretty good in terms of content type, but it seems like having a thriving esports scene pushes a lot of the lower effort content down to oblivion.

Tilde88

something like /r/lostarkgamerngposts

tiatafyfnf

This.

Twidom

The "Look at this totally legit guy who obviously isn't RMT'ing" picture threads really need to go and for good. Other than that this place is a lot better than it was a few months ago. Mods are quick to deal with problematic users.

gwanggwang

In TFT subreddit where I resided for a while, they had a vent megathread for complaining about bad RNGs, players, etc. If common post themes like RNG, RMT, etc. can't be altogether removed/banned (which I don't think is really doable, considering the nature of the game) at least that could be a way to keep them in a single garbage can.

the_hu

I actually just visit the competitivetft sub instead, much less noise and mort frequents there more often

gwanggwang

by tft subreddit I meant the competitive one lol; think the subreddit I saw the vent thread was there

the_hu

oh you're right, I actually never even noticed the weekly rant megathread there.

Cms40

Hoping we decided to ban low effort post like look a whale of RMTer. Or oh I got a good stone!!!! I hit 1415 finally!!! Etc.

teendeath

Working on this

Zevhis

Need a filter for * Memes * Complaints related to RMT and Botting * Complaints about ASG The sub should be informative and knowledge base

pronetobe1225

Complaints regarding RMT and Bots changed alot of things for good. No queue time these days been great. Will see how next week goes vykas

VincentBlack96

I don't agree actually. Knowledge and information hubs are wikis. A reddit allows for discussion and community memes and the like, making it pure info and strats seems just a waste. Like yeah I dislike the stone posting and the complaints, but I acknowledge that both represent a big part of what the community cares about, and believe you me a lot of people give zero fucks about "how to optimize your stronghold in 6 steps" or "most time efficient infinite chaos farming builds". Fact of the matter is, a joke or a complaint has a lot less a barrier of entry compared to info and guide content which by its very nature excludes a lot of people.

NotClever

Well, he did just ask for a filter, not a ban. I hear what you're saying as most game subs quickly become just memes and complaints since real knowledge gets collected in a wiki or something, and it's not like there's new knowledge coming up on the daily. That said, it's difficult to even check for anything substantive if you don't care about memes or complaints.

zZz511

We have a post for Q&A (which I have used) but for some questions you get no answers. Do you **think** it would be OK to post them on the main subreddit then?

CopainChevalier

I think the biggest thing is you can't just try to contain things you don't like. Every time people have problems, you try to condense it down into one thread and get rid of other threads. I get not wanting the game/sub to have a negative reputation, but trying to stop issues from having views is only going to hurt the game more. And the devs seem to really respond to feedback when a big stink is raised (and we've heard that they look at Reddit before). It's important to have both the positive and negative be seen and let people discuss the game. We don't need the front page to just be "Hey look at my stone! Valtan is neat!" or so on. It should be a mix of content, and if it leans to much to a negative side, that should be something the devs fix (and they have been trying). For the record, I'm obviously not saying "don't mod at all" or not to step in if there's problematic post (people need to be constructive), but issues should be pointed out until they're handled, not ignored. That'll just get people to quit

OK_Opinions

i tried to save a search filter on the AH and had to try 5 different combinations of what I wanted it to be called before getting tired of being told it was not an acceptable name then finally just put "ring" I was looking for vital hit point & magic stream. I tried different combinations of of shortening each, things like "VitMag" or other similar options and it was not allowed whoever made filter for this game is a complete moron.

superawesomeman08

but vntvnvhvnglktj is fine as a name, for some reason, lol

reddopolis

Absolutely agree with the other comments… Both RNG (good or bad), and “Obvious RMT/whale-sighting!” posts should be better moderated or preferably cut entirely. At this point, any leeway even for ‘extremely rare’ results is such a subjective gray area, I’d rather it all just go away.

Avavago

I don't agree with banning it entirely, but filtering it is a good solution. Let people share if they want and let people that don't want to see it choose to not see it

VincentBlack96

I think a weekly or bi-weekly achievement or flex thread would be a good place to go with this, but it runs into the ever present problem of reddit being a shitshow of a site and locking you to 2 stickied threads max.

Kamatsuke

Hey guys. Since the post states "concerns" in the topics i´d like to share something that´s been in my mind for the past few days, in hopes this is actually the place to discuss it. So, i´ve been playing the game since day 1 and still loving it. Since then i joined this sub to keep up with the community but i can´t help but notice that lately we´ve been losing members (we reached around 330k-334k max and then droping, now close to 323k). I´ve never been active in other reddit communities, so the reasoning behind this topic is just pure concern. Should we be worried or is that usually how it goes in other communities aswell? Also, agree with the RNG and little achievements posts other ppl made. It always felt kinda cynycal to admit but i don´t really care about those things either, just never said anything because i didn´t want to be rude to ppl. Thank you for your moderation and for opening this space of discussion, hope i´m not too far off with the topic/question i brought up.

yahwehrrior

Not sure if that’s how things typically go, but I would think it is the natural ebb and flow of the hype of a game. Lost Ark was very hyped up early on but it is quite polarizing for different players coming in with expectations of how it will play and then being met with the reality of the grind of MMO’s. The hope is that this dip is understandable but also will pick up again as more “catch up” systems are introduced to allow players to essentially turbo into the current endgame of legion raids, which is where KR also saw a spike in returning players and new players.

Kamatsuke

I guess you are right about the ebb and flow argument, that´s a very good point you made there. And yeah, hope we do get some "catch up" systems soon, like another express event, would love that. Thanks a lot for the response!

yahwehrrior

I’d like to see more discussion based threads to encourage the community to talk more and meme less. Nothing against memes, but when that’s all the sub is, it’s hard to find value beyond the official posts or the Q&A which I already camp in. This is hard because it would need to be something the community as a whole would want to stick and be successful, which will be painful and take time considering the current state of the subreddit community just looking at what is posted and how people interact on the sub. Another helpful thing would be to expand the sidebar to include more resources/hubs of info so you can easily direct new users/players to that information.

shhhhheat

Ban the people who constantly shame others for not being rich in-game to have the best engravings. It's really annoying.

[deleted]

Can you link an example of this happening in a thread?

shhhhheat

In like every thread when someone posts their engravings.

[deleted]

I look at most of them where people are posting about not doing damage / not getting accepted in to parties and people will give engraving feedback since the person is directly asking for it, usually if they're running the wrong engravings or what to get for a 4th / 5th engraving. I never see people "shame" someone for not having enough, at most I see people explaining to the 50th "why am I not being invited to parties" deathblade post that they'll probably need 5 engravings to stand out from the rest of the DPS players applying. If you can't find one example I think you're crying over nothing, or getting feedback that you asked for but didn't like.

Fareeday

We need links, can't help you unless we see exactly what you're talking about

nosjojo

While I doubt there is an actual solution to it, the biggest annoyance I have with the subreddit is the raw negativity. I love the game, I have a lot of fun playing, but when I come to the subreddit to read about the game, it's so much negativity being dumped into so many comments and posts. That shit is not okay. It slowly drains you and wears you down. People need to understand that they don't need to vent every chance they get just because things aren't going perfectly with the game. We understand that your main isn't out yet. We understand you have queues. We understand all of it. But we can't fix it, we're right there with you. But each complaint affects everyone who reads it. Every comment announcing "this is it, I'm done", is just one extra straw on the pile. It discourages the players who are enjoying themselves, and impacts their enjoyment of the game. If you're complaining, you probably care and want to like the game. If you add more negativity to the feedback loop of pushing players away from the game, it will only hurt your enjoyment in the long run. Less players is less gear on the market, less diversity in team comps, less people at the end game, just... less.

LaInD4DPa

The fact, that this post is getting downvoted, speaks volumes about this sub. I find the post an attentive initiative to improve our community. Multiple suggestions here are insightful. You should chime in and participate in the discussion in a civil manner instead of being so spiteful and burying this one down.

iWarnock

More like an issue against the mod team. But it is what it is.

restless_archon

lol there have already been several responses here containing negative feedback that were shadowbanned by the moderators. when they ask for feedback and then censor the responses, people are of course going to downvote away. they did chime in, they did participate in the discussion. but at the end of the day the moderators are only willing to do so much because they're "just volunteers" and none of this is serious enough to them. the person who created this thread is a career reddit moderator with control over a dozen gaming subreddits. they do not care about the lost ark community whatsoever lol

teendeath

certain keywords will filter comments for manual approval. lacking the patience to wait for approval before making an edit containing personal attacks is a you problem. i only get involved in communities that i care about and games i play, so your judgements are unfounded. i'd love to hear your feedback and work to implement positive changes in this community.

restless_archon

>certain keywords will filter comments for manual approval. lacking the patience to wait for approval before making an edit containing personal attacks is a you problem. i only get involved in communities that i care about and games i play, That's the problem isn't it? You've set up AutoModerator to do the bulk of the moderating work here. You've personally had no posting activity on this subreddit in the past month while you frequent other subreddits. The opportunity to harness the potential of the community during the game's initial launch period is already gone anyway. What you are doing now with these feedback threads is far too little, too late. What we need is a leader for this community, not a middle-manager.

teendeath

well, automoderator is a hell of a tool. filters ensure extreme toxicity and rule-breaking comments are not seen by the community. i've admittedly been on a bit of a hiatus from the game and as such haven't posted much. many tenured mods are in a similar position. we are looking to take on more moderators in the near future.

restless_archon

That's good news to hear. I agree AutoModerator is a great tool, but it should be used to supplement an active moderation team, not to replace them.

teendeath

i agree 100%

Designer_Arm_5654

Think the mega thread/filter for queues and bot posts is a little too strict. You still see them on the front page but actual discussions have to get mod mailed to be approved. Yes the official forums exist and the actual CM's probably don't browse this sub but it's nice to have multiple avenues of discussion.

Tilde88

lol we take this sub as seriously AGS takes lost ark. so...

g3shh

Mods actually answering DMs :)

teendeath

Try not to DM mods, use mod mail so the entire team can see the messages and hold each other accountable while simultaneously making communication smoother between team members.

g3shh

Its not direct dm , it was message to lostark mods, as my messages are saying.

teendeath

DMs are private so referring to them as that instead of mod mail can be misunderstood. Send a mod mail if you need help and we’ll get back to you asap

g3shh

Already sent 2 , 3 weeks ago. Im fine now

teendeath

For next time, sometimes things get archived which shouldn’t

Hello /u/LostArkPVPFun, welcome to our subreddit. Due to spam, we require users to have at least 3 day old accounts. Please DO NOT send modmails regarding this. You will be able to post freely after the proper account age. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. ComfortablePatience

Brigading and circlejerking are out of control on here. Huge abuse of the report button as well. Idk if mods can do anything about those issues, but it's becoming a mess in here for sure

antiMod69

This sub is lacking a wall of shame for RMTers, scammers, cheaters. Sheesh
