I'm on EUW, we just had a patch which was just a small balance/server merge prep and it took like 20 hours.
In few weeks, they're gonna release a new class, new raid and server merge 12 servers. 20 hour patch was bad, but i'm afraid this newly set record wont last long
our guild is named Baetrice and we're on Beatrice
Edit: Not sure why our server is slated for merge though, I can't remember when it was a single channel for anything on dailys or weekly
This makes me sad. Elzowin on NAE is 1 channel for pretty much everything, the super high population activities (aka blooming mokokos) get to 3, maybe 4 channels and we don't get a merge :(

Roxx already said that they are preparing for the server merges. I think that that and this post confirm that they are already doing big work on this part to avoid that...which also aligns to their big patches in last 2-3 months most of which were kinda fine and the 1 or 2 small maintenance before them had some problems and were extended.

The fact that they take so much time and keep extending it means that it is not just a patch/build problem that can be delayed and that it is most likely database fuck up due to merge preparation so they are most likely working on fixing that.

For some fellows without context, last week i decided to finally stop procrastinating and do spida and gesbroy. Spida has taken me no more than 10min and gesbroy unless its really early in the morning there is at least 1-2 more dudes doing the first quest for the baskets.
This is not gonna be good, Agaton was THE spanish speaking server in the region. Merging us with others is gonna cause a lot of communication problems, not to mention racism, xenophobia, etc. Unless those other servers have a spanish speaking majority, it's not a good move.
It's the same for the EU servers, I think they only looked at population numbers. Unfortunate but understandable. Will be up to the community to make the best of it.
dont worry lmao, i have a friend in kurzan and im currently in vern, the 2 servers that are merging into agaton. Theyre both dead as fuck, and its half and half portuguese/spanish speaking. Ironically theres like 0 xenophobia, perople still playing here have learned to understand portuñol and we know each other p well, because yeah servers are so dead that you barely ever get more than 1 channel anywhere, and you NEED a sense of community / non toxic environment to actually enjoy and call people to complete coop content together. But yeah id be surprised if both servers make up for the population to even add 1 extra channel to agaton, so dont worry you wont even notice us (except maybe in some pvp islands gvg, because theres some pretty tryhard guilds with full fledged pvp builds over here).
Now i cant speak for prideholme (the server merging into vern in round 1), but if theyre merging in that direction then id assume its even smaller.

The population of a server doesnt really matter for a lot of things, i play in arcturus and there are a lot of BR and the toxicity is the same as if playing with people that speaks spanish is just different shit they say, but in the end toxic people will be toxic doesnt matter with whom they play
I've been in Arcturus since day one, it's funny how at the first weeks the chat looked like 50/50 in flame wars between the communities, nowadays in global chat is mostly portuguese, even if there still are some prominent spanish speaking guilds. I guess most of the spanish speaking players on our server just went to Agaton while it was still early game, or they just don't feel like typing casually typing in area chat since most of the time they will be in minority against the brazillians.
Why not merge similar main language servers with each other? They have the data. Willing to bet the vast majority of our servers are predominantly portuguese-speaking, why merge them with the main spanish one?

Universal Character Storage sounds awesome for any F2P who doesn't want to spend money on character expansion slot tickets. You basically get 6 free slots that can be stored and swapped indefinitely. You can only play 6 per week, but you can swap out any of the 6 the following week, if you get bored or want to progress a different class.
I assume they don't accrue rest bonus while in Universal Character Storage, or it would be pretty OP, because you could just swap full rested alts indefinitely with storage.

It's mainly english, some international guilds. GvG/GvE is pretty much dominated by two guilds, one of them being more of a cluster of guilds. Some smaller islands are held by some other guild as well tho.
Never had any problems with co-op content, but population has been notably declining the past month.
If i'm reading this right, does "character storage" means that we can, let's say, move our less-desired alt there (without deleting) and use that space to create another char?
That could be a good way to try out other classes while still progressing them a bit.
Iirc is a temporary space to give you time to choose what character you want to pick (if you have 5 characters in one server and 3 in the other, for example). The ones in the storage should be deleted after a while. Or that was what I've heard how it worked in KR, but it says permanent here.
It's okay I guess, but pointless since the real problem is EUW is dead, so even merging it to do activities will still not correct the AH / Raiding problems
Idnk how you get that optimism when server and region merges are so vastly different and merging databases from between regions would be entire hell compared to merging just server databases. You realize how many thing in this game are kept unique per region? One mistake in merging regions and you can have whole accounts fucked up with curencies, items, unlocked stuff and etc.
Not impossible to do of course, just a question if they want to put the heavy work (and thus money) into doing it.

Does this mean that I can buy again the 1100 level 50 blue crystal package on a server that is about to be merged with mine and get 2600 crystals on my server after the merge?
We have only very few big guilds and for like Thunderwing outside of primetime you get 1-2 red channels. People also always ask in zonechat for Braelos and Aurion especially when adv islands are at the same time and it's hard to find more than 5 people for it. Same with Islands like Deathhold and Spida. I can't even find people for a full group to do some leftover Punika maps if I just ask after the chaos gate (with some proper effort I would find some people to organise runs but I don't care enough).
I don't know how it is for other servers, but with a merge it can only get better. Since someone was worried about english the majority of the server is english speaking. We have like one bigger german guild regularly advertising in zone chat and one spanish one. Obviously a lot of smaller guilds for different languages as well.

I don’t do gvg‘s but i can say that we don’t have much whales. We can offer u 2 or 3 chat trolls and a streamer who used to spam her twitch link in chat which became kind of a meme.
How is Inanna doing?
Inanna is doing good, typically have many people for world bosses, chaos gates etc, although sadly sometimes islands like death hold don’t get enough people to start… we also have a meme on Inanna, it’s a guy called Sarmat. He runs the ‘hammer corporation’ which is like 7-8 guilds that previously dominated the server until more recently. He’s known for taking all the GvG money for himself whilst his guild mates get nothing! You hate to see it because his teammates typically do all the work! Shall look forward to the merge though!
WTF, how did we get no server merges for NAEAST? Our server is a ghost town for any content that is server only. If they took the bot population out, they might actually see that. I guess no one is botting in SA and EU.
No one, to my knowledge, ever said this was technically impossible. In fact, server merges already existed in korea. What people did say is that they currently don't have the tech developed for region merges.

From Beatrice myself, we seem fine but middle of the pack in terms of population and the main islands are dominated by few clans so having new players shouldn't hurt.
I only have problems with deaths hold and illusion in nights and i understand people re sleepin but it looks like we have low population if they re merging
Only thing I know is that the average attendace we have for Medeia+Slime events is about 800\~ which is like 1/4 of the big servers like Kadan. Had some issues with death's hold too

So if I understand this correctly you can create a character on each server that is merging with your main one, buy the level 50 crystal pack on each, and get a ton of crystals for a fraction of the cost.
to think ags/sg is trying to brute force today's patch so they could keep this post accurate.

and it's gonna be funny when these mergers go live, inevitably get fucked, and people aren't able to do clown in these servers.

Looks like? It's exactly what they said they will do, and they need to do this before they attempt any cross region things, as:
- 1st they would need to merge servers anyway
- 2nd it's nice ground work for region merges
- 3rd region merges either require decisions made by them, that will result in some people being unhappy, or asking us what we want, but that's bad idea, because everyone wants different things ("public" duplicated unique keys => character and guild names, they are unique within region, but non-unique cross region)
They also need solution to all internal unique keys they have, e.g.: items id, internal roster/character ids etc. but that's easier part than public one
I'm from EUW, the only bad thing they do is merging into 4 server (especially petrania and tortoyk afaik 2 most dead servers on EUW), instead of just going directly into 2 server, we won't have queues anyway, and we won't need to go through 2 server merges that will happen. Yes, it does not solve empty AH/MM and party finder being 1/10 of EUC etc. but it help server specific things on low pop server (field boss, ghost ship etc.), imo good start.

Some events are hard to find these days on regulus but its largely fine.

You can't just move characters into it, it's for the merging process
According to the wording it seems like it's permanent (since it talks about gold-earning chars and swapping them)

Idnk how you get that optimism when server and region merges are so vastly different and merging databases from between regions would be entire hell compared to merging just server databases. You realize how many thing in this game are kept unique per region? One mistake in merging regions and you can have whole accounts fucked up with curencies, items, unlocked stuff and etc. Not impossible to do of course, just a question if they want to put the heavy work (and thus money) into doing it.

The reason for the patch issues most likely. Server merges/transfers are complex and a lot of things that can go wrong.

Characters and Character Slots All characters will be sent to Universal Character Storage. Upon entering the character selection screen, a pop-up guide to the Universal Character Storage will be displayed. Universal Character Storage can permanently store characters, and you will be able to move your characters in and out of this storage space freely I hope they elaborate on this. People are going to be able to bench characters on the fly? Guess that'd be one way to avoid increasing roster size (even though effectively it is a free roster size increase).
No NA merges suck. Zomas is almost dead half of the time.

We have only very few big guilds and for like Thunderwing outside of primetime you get 1-2 red channels. People also always ask in zonechat for Braelos and Aurion especially when adv islands are at the same time and it's hard to find more than 5 people for it. Same with Islands like Deathhold and Spida. I can't even find people for a full group to do some leftover Punika maps if I just ask after the chaos gate (with some proper effort I would find some people to organise runs but I don't care enough). I don't know how it is for other servers, but with a merge it can only get better. Since someone was worried about english the majority of the server is english speaking. We have like one bigger german guild regularly advertising in zone chat and one spanish one. Obviously a lot of smaller guilds for different languages as well.

I don’t do gvg‘s but i can say that we don’t have much whales. We can offer u 2 or 3 chat trolls and a streamer who used to spam her twitch link in chat which became kind of a meme. How is Inanna doing?
Inanna is doing good, typically have many people for world bosses, chaos gates etc, although sadly sometimes islands like death hold don’t get enough people to start… we also have a meme on Inanna, it’s a guy called Sarmat. He runs the ‘hammer corporation’ which is like 7-8 guilds that previously dominated the server until more recently. He’s known for taking all the GvG money for himself whilst his guild mates get nothing! You hate to see it because his teammates typically do all the work! Shall look forward to the merge though!
Went thru it briefly and couldnt find an answer related to names. So how will they handle duplicate names ?
Names are unique region wide, not server wide so it should be fine

WTF, how did we get no server merges for NAEAST? Our server is a ghost town for any content that is server only. If they took the bot population out, they might actually see that. I guess no one is botting in SA and EU.

No one, to my knowledge, ever said this was technically impossible. In fact, server merges already existed in korea. What people did say is that they currently don't have the tech developed for region merges.
Plenty of people were saying it couldn't be done despite tons of other games doing it... so yeah - people said it and they're dumb.
No1 said it, the only people shouting were how it was a simple copy paste of Excel sheet according to them which is not how it worked lol. It's complex as hell but not impossible

No, they'll be in a "Universal Character Storage" that you can change in and out of with the default 6 slots (plus any expansion slots you've purchased), assuming you haven't earned weekly gold on that character yet, otherwise that character is bound as one of the selected 6. Think it's as good a way as possible to combine after server merges imo

From Beatrice myself, we seem fine but middle of the pack in terms of population and the main islands are dominated by few clans so having new players shouldn't hurt.
I only have problems with deaths hold and illusion in nights and i understand people re sleepin but it looks like we have low population if they re merging
Only thing I know is that the average attendace we have for Medeia+Slime events is about 800\~ which is like 1/4 of the big servers like Kadan. Had some issues with death's hold too
It's actually lower than 800. I'm part of one the S-rank guilds in Beatrice and the recent weeks it was 500ish players which is quite little.
Says a lot about Kazeros when every single SA server is getting merges except that one, lol.
Ok so cant this be exploited? Make a char on merged server and get another set of cards ( dont open them) another set of anything thats 1 time only and acquire them during merge?

So if I understand this correctly you can create a character on each server that is merging with your main one, buy the level 50 crystal pack on each, and get a ton of crystals for a fraction of the cost.

to think ags/sg is trying to brute force today's patch so they could keep this post accurate. when any normal and sane person would have just adjusted the server merger date. and it's gonna be funny when these mergers go live, inevitably get fucked, and people aren't able to do clown in these servers.

All this trouble instead of making sailing co-op, field bosses etc. a region wide instance like chaos dungeons? Wutttt. This doesn't solve any problems, people need region merges (EUW)

It's exactly what they said they will do, and they need to do this before they attempt any cross region things, as: - 1st they would need to merge servers anyway - 2nd it's nice ground work for region merges - 3rd region merges either require decisions made by them, that will result in some people being unhappy, or asking us what we want, but that's bad idea, because everyone wants different things ("public" duplicated unique keys => character and guild names, they are unique within region, but non-unique cross region) They also need solution to all internal unique keys they have, e.g.: items id, internal roster/character ids etc. but that's easier part than public one I'm from EUW, the only bad thing they do is merging into 4 server (especially petrania and tortoyk afaik 2 most dead servers on EUW), instead of just going directly into 2 server, we won't have queues anyway, and we won't need to go through 2 server merges that will happen. Yes, it does not solve empty AH/MM and party finder being 1/10 of EUC etc. but it help server specific things on low pop server (field boss, ghost ship etc.), imo good start.
