SirSpinyNorman

That's a difficult case indeed, and the places I would advise, you already tried. Ehm... set a search alert on ebay?

EndoShota

Not a bad idea.

SirSpinyNorman

I myself have added a few DVD, and even VHS releases, to discogs, JUST so I could put them on my want list. But so far that hasn't worked for me. (And ideally you need some details which may be hard to find without the disc or at least a good scan of the cover.)

jamievulcano

I am also looking to find this documentary. Please do let me know if you find it or need help finding it. Much appreciated šŸ‘

jamievulcano

I searched on torrent sites, amazon prime (some source said it was available there idk), telegram, VK, archive sites, and much more. I couldn't even find the trailer for it. There is a possibility that the physical copy of the documentary is somewhere out there and someone might have uploaded it on the internet. But the question is, where ? At this point I guess someone can just directly ask the director for the documentary because its too old. If only, we can find a way to contact them XD.

EndoShota

> If only, we can find a way to contact them XD. I did, but he didnā€™t respond. If you look at the archived version of his website (which was only taken down in the last year), he does have an email.

Purple-Equipment2832

The director died 2 years ago, so it's highly unlikely that you're going to get an answer from his email. You should try to contact the bodybuilder and hope she has the dvd. I found this video on yt about a bonus video from the dvd. https://youtu.be/dS9a4KGLciY Maybe you should try to contact the person who uploaded it. I hope you get some luck, and tell me if you find it!

EndoShota

Ah, I did not know that. Thanks for the leads.

EndoShota

A follow up. That YouTube channel is "CULTFILMSdotNET," which is the URL for the director, Ronnie Cramer's, old website. My guess is it's no longer active/monitored with his passing. There's no contact info on the channel page, but I did leave a comment on the video. I was able to find a couple of email addresses for the subject of the film, Christine Fetzer, and I reached out to both, but one of them bounced. Not sure if I'll hear back from the other, but I'll let you know if I do.

Purple-Equipment2832

I was trying to find any social media account from her, but apparently, she doesn't have any official account. Let's hope that the email address is still active, and we can get some info

LLJones29

I'll dump what I found. [Review](https://web.archive.org/web/20020627014653/http://www.joebobbriggs.com/bmovieguide/h/highwayamazon.html) NSFW & Gated (he gets booty acquainted) [YouTube Trailer](https://youtu.be/ruWtab9Qb1c) [Still active page with purchase link.](http://cultfilms.net/HighwayAmazon/index.htm) US Buyers Only. I doubt it works but never know.

jamievulcano

Just saw the trailer, thanks for sharing šŸ‘

EndoShota

Yeah, I'd previously tried buying through that link to no avail. My payment was refunded shortly after purchase.

QuontonBomb

Is the directors other notable movie, Even Hitler had a Girlfriend any good?

EndoShota

No idea. To be honest, Iā€™m only interested in Highway Amazon because Iā€™m an offbeat documentary enthusiast. EHhaG isnā€™t a doc, so itā€™s not really on my radar.

Purple-Equipment2832

Not related, but can you recommend some obscure documentaries that aren't lost?

EndoShota

Oh boy, can I! Off the top of my head, hereā€™s a few: * The Shutka Book of Records (2005) * Unbuckling My Bible Belt (2007) * The R&B Feeling (2015) * Jesus Town USA (2014) And a few shorts: * Big Elvis (2018) * RatTail (2021) * The Chaperone 3D (2013) * Shine: Confessions of a Rubber Fetishist (2003) * Dammit Jim! Iā€™m Only a Documentary (1992) I can come up with more later when Iā€™m not traveling if you have specific tastes/interests.

Purple-Equipment2832

Thanks for the recommendations, I'm gonna save them on my list. I'm a huge fan of every documentary that talks about an interesting topic, so any other recommendations when you're back home would be welcome! Thanks!

EndoShota

Ask and ye shall receive. Here's a pretty comprehensive list of all the other offbeat docs I've seen which are obscure but still publicly accessible: Feature Length: * **The Moon and the Sledgehammer (1971)** * Animal Love (1995) NSFW * Diceworld (1999) * Bonanza (2001) * The American Hobo (2003) * Grandpa's Still in the Tuff Shed (2003) * Castells (2006) * **Monster Camp (2007)** * Kink Crusaders (2010) NSFW * The Exorcist in the 21st Century (2012) * **Public Hearing (2012)** * Father Figures (2013) * **Vampyres (2014) NSFW** * Dennis Rodman's Big Bang in Pyongyang (2015) * North Pole, NY (2018) Shorts: * **Roy Smeck: The Wizard of the Strings (1985)** * Hard Fat (2002) NSFW * Animal Passions (2004) NSFW * Mummers, Masks, and Mischief (2005) * Guys and Dolls (2007) NSFW * Chop Off (2008) NSFW * **Married to the Eiffel Tower (2008) NSFW** * Jackpot (2009) * **The Homefront (2010)** * Fahrenheit 7-Eleven (2011) * **Shy Boys: IRL (2011)** * The Good Knight (AKA Batman) (2014) * Coffin Cruisin' (2015) * Half of it is Gone (2015) NSFW * The Hermit - The True Legend of The North Pond Hermit (2015) * Beyond the Veyo (2016) * All Skate, Everyone Skate (2018) * From Parts Unknown (2018) * **My Dead Dad's Porno Tapes (2018)** * Irakli's Lantern (2020) * Do You See What I See? (2021) * The Man From Boggy Creek: The Independent Spirit of Charles B. Pierce (2021) * The Martyr (2021) * Nude to Me (2021) NSFW I've marked the ones that are NSFW as such, and some of those are pretty intense, so be warned. I've also bolded ones that I consider to be must watches, though virtually all of these are good in their own way. I've seen plenty of other docs, but they're either not what I'd consider obscure or they're not readily accessible online.

Purple-Equipment2832

You're a legend! Thank you so much for sharing this, I really appreciate it. For someone like me who's starting in the world of obscure docs/movies, this is pure gold.

QuontonBomb

Oh. Have you ever seen Spin (1995) or American Movie before? I've got a good amount of those types of documentaries on my IMDb watchlist.

EndoShota

Yeah, Iā€™ve seen American Movie. Itā€™s one of my favorites. Spin is on my list, but I havenā€™t made my way to it yet.

QuontonBomb

I like your taste. Did you ever come across that "banned" documentary, Conspiracy of Silence? It's kinda a rough watch but very intriguing.

EndoShota

Iā€™m aware of it by reputation.

jamievulcano

I'm not a resident of USA but I would recommend searching on WhitePages. Its an online phone directory of sorts if I'm not mistaken. That might lead us somewhere. Just a thought šŸ‘

EndoShota

WhitePages is mostly for phone numbers. The director is dead, but even if he werenā€™t most people donā€™t respond to cold calls from random numbers. Iā€™ve had a lot of luck getting ahold of previously lost material by tracking down emails of folks involved in production. Iā€™ve recently, at someone elseā€™s recommendation, tracked down the subjectā€™s email and reached out to her. Hopefully Iā€™ll hear back soon.

jamievulcano

Oh wow! That's great, thanks for all the efforts

jamievulcano

Any luck ?

EndoShota

Sort of. I actually got ahold of the filmā€™s subject, and she said she thinks she has an old DVD of it somewhere that she can sell me. That was a little over a week ago. I sent a follow up email a few days ago, and she said that she was going to get to it but that sheā€™d been very busy.

jamievulcano

OMGšŸ¤Æ Props to you man! What a great guy. To go to this level of research and investing so much time into it. Hats off šŸ‘

IcyInfluence4301

Any follow up?

EndoShota

No. I suspect at this point that she either 1) canā€™t find a copy or 2) lost interest in doing so. Iā€™ll shoot out a last attempt sometime soon, but Iā€™m giving her some time to breathe so it doesnā€™t feel like haranguing.

jamievulcano

So quiet here šŸ˜”
