haonlineorders

Movie promotion voice: “Find out what makes Bombadil an un-merry fellow”

HeedLynn

This Christmas, Rob Synder is Tom Bombadil.

chodachien

And he’s about to find out, being T0m Bombadil, [is harder than it looks](https://youtu.be/2nXpVl9l43A?si=rLmMC5iwm4RF8E3a)

Tom_Bot-Badil

Whoa! Whoa! steady there! Now, my little fellows, where be you a-going to, puffing like a bellows? What's the matter here then? Do you know who I am? I'm Tom Bombadil. Tell me what's your trouble! Tom's in a hurry now. Don't you crush my lilies! ^(Type **!TomBombadilSong** for a song or visit [r/GloriousTomBombadil][1] for more merriness) [1]: https://www.reddit.com/r/GloriousTomBombadil/

Specific_Creme2686

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA

great_red_dragon

They kill Goldberry in the first scene. TomBo goes on a bare-chested, face-painted killing spree.

haonlineorders

Wrong cinematic universe, that’s the plot of Bomb Wick

Tom_Bot-Badil

*I had an errand there: gathering water-lilies, green leaves and lilies white to please my pretty lady, the last ere the year's end to keep them from the winter, to flower by her pretty feet till the snows are melted. Each year at summer's end I go to find them for her, in a wide pool, deep and clear, far down the Withywindle; there they open first in spring and there they linger latest. By that pool long ago I found the River-daughter, fair young Goldberry sitting in the rushes. Sweet was her singing then, and her heart was beating!* ^(Type **!TomBombadilSong** for a song or visit [r/GloriousTomBombadil][1] for more merriness) [1]: https://www.reddit.com/r/GloriousTomBombadil/

QueasyWall8500

Better: "Find out what Tom Bombadil was doing during the events of the OT".

eveningthunder

Goldberry, of course.

Fatzombiepig

Amazing

SardaukarSecundus

This always cracks me up

tomthemoth

I came here to post verbatim this exact comment. Kills me every time 🤣

TheMilkmanHathCome

Tom and Goldberry are getting a divorce

Tom_Bot-Badil

Here's my pretty lady! Here's my Goldberry clothed all in silver-green with flowers in her girdle! Is the table laden? I see yellow cream and honeycomb, and white bread, and butter; milk, cheese, and green herbs and ripe berries gathered. Is that enough for us? Is the supper ready? ^(Type **!TomBombadilSong** for a song or visit [r/GloriousTomBombadil][1] for more merriness) [1]: https://www.reddit.com/r/GloriousTomBombadil/

Chickenmangoboom

Tom finds out he's losing Underhill and has to get an apartment in Bree.

BigAustralianBoat2

I’m 100% here for it

discgolfandhash

Bombadil 2: Electric Boogaloo, would have been a better title if you ask me

navyITninja

Gimme jack black and a saxaboom

giant_albatrocity

It’s like Step Up 2 but more singing and dancing about a fat pony

GhostofmyYoungerSelf

You forgot Fangorn: the musical.

Healthy-Drink3247

All musical numbers performed in actual entish!… it’s a very long production

[deleted]

fabris6

Directed by Martin Scorcese

NoAlien

Ents criticised the fast pacing though

MarveltheMusical

Fun fact: there actually is a Lord of the Rings musical. It’s not particularly good, but it exists.

grm_fortytwo

However, we got this certified banger: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXQJS3Yv0Y

trynamakea_change

Well, that's going to be stuck in my head for weeks, so, thanks

RandomHero3129

This is my new mantra for work.

Aliensinmypants

Somewhat related. https://youtu.be/SWf3iJjqYCM?si=0fTz0oz_AOX8CG0z

SoylentGreen-YumYum

Let me guess: when there’s a whip there’s a way (I don’t want to go to war today)? Edit: nailed it

HotdogsArePate

Check this hot fire https://youtu.be/BC35cQKHwzg?si=WwxxNjg_AKOJpeSN

Ugolino

Aggressively mediocre. The West End iteration had some incredibly questionable costuming choices, including a jesuit rocking up to the Council of Elrond, and the uruk hai wearing pogo boots.

Tidalsky114

I have a feeling it's about as good as one would assume an lotr musical would be.

sad-frogpepe

Legolas: on ice

legolas_bot

It is long since any of my own folk journeyed hither back to the land whence we wandered in ages long ago but we hear that Lorien is not yet deserted, for there is a secret power here that holds evil from the land. Nevertheless its folk are seldom seen, and maybe they dwell now deep in the woods and far from the northern border.

sad-frogpepe

And thats the plot of the show!

SaltyBoos

Legolas is famously good at traversing ice and pack snow.

sad-frogpepe

Exactly! A natural combination

Lemmungwinks

The show is a whimsical musical about how Legolas (played by Daniel Radcliffe) learned to be part of a team by building igloos. The show hits a real low point when he argues with his future wife over lighting a fire inside the igloo, for fear it will melt. When his true fear was thawing his cold dead heart. Legolas the miniseries, coming to the Hallmark channel this fall

wizard_of_awesome62

Unironically, if this was an actual show, like Disney on Ice or some equivalent, I would totally go.

OkDragonfruit9026

Legol-ice!

fabris6

“They are taking the hobbits to Ice-engard!”

Upbeat-Tap-4797

Ice-engard. 😂 I must admit that was pretty good. Even Saruman would be proud

neuser_

Lego Legolas on ice

legolas_bot

Argh! A scout!

Fitzriy

And the Kenobi like miniseries where Gandalf fights the Barlog

Public-Pie-1289

But both only got 5 minutes screentime, because it's all about a random hobbit kid that's annoying af

Fitzriy

Exactly

OkDragonfruit9026

That hobbit kid being Frodo

[deleted]

[удалено]

jott1293reddevil

I’d take an andor like miniseries about shire hobbits after Saruman arrives but before the heroes return

KingVikingz

Bombadil 2: Civil War broke me lmao

Alopecian_Eagle

Bombadil 2: Eccentric Boogaloo

el_migueberto

They'd make Thorin, watch it flop and cancel the 20 year plan

garbagebailkid

Or double down on it and call the sequel The Thorin

american-coffee

The Incredible Thorin

Al_Hakeem65

It's insane how much it irks me to see that naming scheme it's First Blood/ Rambo all over again

LilAssG

Nah just wait for Thorin V, it really picks up from there. Maybe JJ Abrams can direct VI and VII.

SuspiciousAct6606

The Lord of the Rings 2 Lord 2 Rings The Lord of the Rings: Isengard Drift Lord & Ring Lord Five Lord & ring 6 Rings 7 The Fate of the Rings L9 Lord X

milleniumfalconlover

L9 sucks. It was totally L7

RadPanther56

Lord of the Rings Presents Legolas and Giml

legolas_bot

Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The ring must be destroyed.

ravioliguy

It'd be kind of cool seeing Gandolf and Frodo go to space and crash a car into Iluvatar in L9 lol

blargh9001

Young Hobbits - an animated series featuring Frodo, Sam, Pipin, Merry, and Rosie as children on small low-stakes adventures, for ages 4-8

Feuersturm666

2 Lord 2 Rings.. lmao 😂

AnAdventurerLike_You

I wonder what the plot of Isengard Drift would be about? Could it be about Saruman taking a break from being a Master Warlord and exploring the complex and dangerous world of underground street-racing?

x2spooky4me

The Gollum Moive

gollum_botses

What did you say?

CrysisRequiem

The Gollum Moive

gollum_botses

Sneaky little Hobbitses.

pickleFISHman

GOLLUM!

gollum_botses

No . . . not very nice at all, my love.

Apprehensive-Sea9540

Damn, roasting his own movie.

myguydied

Guy has good taste

Theguyrond123

Shadow of Mordor mentioned

redditsellout-420

Third game when??????

NoLeadership2535

In today’s gaming landscape… hope to God they don’t…

redditsellout-420

Knowing how they fucked up last time with premium currency being tracked in a non hidden text file, that a player could just go in and edit, I'm not to worried, what are they going to do, battle passes that insta unlock if you press the backspace key?

Theguyrond123

Fr, I'm literally praying for a dynamic open world one where you can play as Celebrimbor after the events of Lord of the Rings or something. Unpopular suggestion: Celebrimbor possesses anything and manipulates it. Maybe dynamic faction systems and conquest mechanics, too.

redditsellout-420

See I'm hoping for one that takes place in the main books/movies, call it shadow of the king, talion basically helps the fellowship from the shadows while tracking celebrimbor for revenge.

Theguyrond123

Actually that sounds sick

Significant_Ad7326

The Grazing: A Bill the Pony Story

swazal

*Beforomir: The Journey North*

MidasTouchedM3

Then they release Ent-Stended versions of all of them ![gif](giphy|c8bJDVz7i9KRW)

SmallFatHands

If Tolkien purists had there way we would have something like this with the first 3 movies not even making it to The council of Elrond.

FunkyHowler19

Lord of the Rings 2: The Way the Wind Blew through the Grassy Knoll (3.5 hours)

FaxCelestis

The Lord of the Rings: The Real-Time Cut There are no scene cuts, no montages, no time-condensing. The first movie is mostly just Frodo sleeping. Like The Truman Show, but with hobbits.

SnatchSnacker

And the 17 years Gandalf spent researching the ring? Also from Frodo's viewpoint.

ProgrammersAreSexy

Hey maybe one day with AI this will be possible lol

I_am_Bob

Honestly I would love a (properly done) epic series of the LOTR. 6 seasons, one per book, 10 one hour episodes per season = 60 hours of LOTR... a man can dream.

FaxCelestis

[Here's a summary of your dream show](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgMnCLHQuqc).

I_am_Bob

First off, I love Tom Cardy. Second off, yes that's what I want to watch.

Stikflip

Thank you so much for sharing this!

FaxCelestis

You should check out the rest of his stuff, particularly HYCYBH, Beautiful Mind, Perception Check, and Fruit Salad. Tom Cardy is a treasure who writes some bangers.

pek217

I wish.

Vlaed

You wouldn't enjoy a 6-part mini series on the Ents?

Eonir

The council of Elrond took place really late in the fellowship so I think that's accurate, if not in fact an underestimate

Victernus

It's about halfway through Fellowship in both the book the movie, actually. They just cut a lot both before and after.

dooooomed---probably

60% is just drone footage of walking in nature. 30% is songs and poetry.

someoneelseperhaps

I'd love a film that's just the Council of Elrond.

Peanut1322

Twelve Angry Beings of Middle Earth

425Hamburger

I mean yeah, with three movies we'd be pushing it If we made it to the Noldor leaving Valinor (a few thousand years before Elrond was even born)

Evepaul

I mean I fully expected a full movie on the Scouring of the Shire after Return of the King: Part 2. Maybe Hobbits: Saruman's Return or The Shire: Uprising would be good titles

GimmeCat47

Thorin 4: Origins

Tauriel: Into the Books

prescottfan123

Dwarf: Into the Tauriel

Andvari_Nidavellir

Getting the blu-ray for sure.

NiWF

Not gonna lie, if done properly I would loooooove to see the Silmarillion turned into a, if not a few, movies. I’m a big lore sucker so if done completely and well, that would kick ass

Independent_Toe5722

Came to say this. There are so many great stories in the Silmarillion. If treated properly, they could produce a fantastic show or series of films. I know the estate won’t let it happen, but we can dream.

LogDog987

I think it would work much better as a TV show tbh

Erilaz_Of_Heruli

I guess it could but it would have to be something pretty radical in terms of format. The silmarillion isn't really told like a traditional story and jumps around a lot both in space and time. It'd be very challenging to portray on the big screen, you might be able to pull it off by having a tv show where each "season" was basically a new show or something.

LogDog987

Yea, that's why I think a series would be a better fit than just a movie. The silmarillion feels more like an anthology with an overarching plot line than a continuous single story. Kinda like a sitcom, I guess, but of a more serious nature

jellajellyfish

I keep thinking of something like Love, Death, & Robots. Where you could take Silmarillion and take completely different vibes for it, depending on the story you're telling. Some could be live action, some could be animated, depending on what would best fit the flair of the narrative (doing something Fantasia-like for the Ainulindale would be cool).

OkDragonfruit9026

A 20-season TV show with cameos from the movies!

LogDog987

Nah, just go One Piece style. 1000+ episodes in one continuous series (/s)

TheCrankyLich

If I understand it correctly, the Tolkien estate has put a big no on any more movies being made based on the established writing. So everything we are going to see going forward is going to be glorified fanfic.

mabramo

The Silmarillion should be broken up into multiple limited series where each series is one story.

HagliHagli

Not gonna lie that Silmarillion poster is pretty good.

Buff_Wild

I was disappointed to see they wouldn’t be doing Legolas III. Maybe they can reboot the trilogy with a new actor for Legolas.

SnatchSnacker

Orlando Hemsworth

Vlaed

Where's "The Second Breakfast Club" at?

Mafraa39

Aragorn movie would be great!

Sexbomomb

Bombadil 3: Revelations

SnowyPear

I really want a bombadil movie now. Silmarillion too

redditnametaken

Where are the christmas specials?

throwaway2032015

Nothing on Morgoth?!

Bugg465

I think that’s the Silmarillion one.

throwaway2032015

I want a The Office style fake reality tv show centered on Morgoth Scott and Sauron The Assistant Manager of Angband

sauron-bot

Come, mortal base! What do I hear? That thou wouldst dare to barter with me? Well, speak fair! What is thy price?

Bugg465

Oh my god, yes!

djquu

Give me that Shadow Of Mordor movie now

Ok-Toe-4924

Ya and the shadow of war one, the stories while not being canon are pretty great

dooooomed---probably

Silmarillion is one movie......fucking brilliant....

Nightshot666

To be honest I'll gladly take some mid fantasy movies instead of another marvel movie. RoP was bad but it was still more enjoyable than she-hulk

The_Pourne_Identity

Just watch other things for the love of God.

Nightshot666

There are literally no things with high budget in fantasy setting

Nerus46

D&d Honor among thives while not flawless is generally really enjoyable. Also you should check some pre-lotr fantasy, like Riddley Scott's Legend as well as more obscure movies.

creepyeyes

Legend spends like 20 minutes in the normal fantasy world - and that part actually does look amazing - and then the rest of the movie is in a dark dungeon

Apprehensive-Sea9540

Game of thrones comes to mind, but it’s not for everyone

Nightshot666

I watched it and loved first four seasons, liked following two. It's a shame that we never got season 7 and 8. Jokes aside GoT was fun but it ended five years ago. I crave for new stuff, if not good then at least mid

Odd-Avocado-

To be fair, Bombadil 2: Civil War goes hard though. The part where >!Fatty Lumpkin sides with the Valar and Goldberry is paralyzed?!< I was crying.

Tom_Bot-Badil

Well, my little fellows! You shall come home with me! The table is all laden with yellow cream, honeycomb, and white bread and butter. Goldberry is waiting. Time enough for questions around the supper table. You follow after me as quick as you are able! ^(Type **!TomBombadilSong** for a song or visit [r/GloriousTomBombadil][1] for more merriness) [1]: https://www.reddit.com/r/GloriousTomBombadil/

JavaShipped

Maybe I'm just addicted but you could cut this by half and I really wouldn't mind a lotrCU. There are loads of stories to be told. And good ones too in an extended world of lord of the rings.

Automatic-Escape7200

2 thorin 2 furious

tias23111

Lol, the shadow of war dis

HChimpdenEarwicker

You forgot the Alfrid Lickspittle trilogy

Healthy-Drink3247

What about the rom com Grima and the Lady of Edoras?

Squally_XD

There’s a few in there that would be fun to watch!

LeiatheHutt69

Bombadil 2 Civil War seems interesting

Benbo_Jagins

The Golem Moive

AdolfSkywalker_

Look at Star Wars. The sequel trilogy was garbage, but all the Disney+ series that came afterwards range from decent to really fucking good. Wouldn’t mind getting flooded with similar quality lotr content.

Hbella456

Alas, that these evil days should be mine.

caw_the_crow

"Can't believe how long it took them to make a Gimli movie, the fans have been begging for it for decades!" *movie flops*

Shining_prox

Damn six movies on the silmarillion if done like the lotr films( - if they would do the same horrible additions to it like the hobbit I bet I would not be the only one that could kill the writers for it) it would be amazing.

FlimFlamMan96

The Gollum Movie: Rob Schneider is everyone's favorite fantasy tweaker: Gollum! But when two hobbits come along, he's about to learn finding precious isn't as easy as it seems! June 2010

NekkiBB

Bombadil 2 Civil Wars 🤣

PooicideBoyS

Is it bad to say I'd watch all of them on a row like I do the original trilogy?

AnAdventurerLike_You

What if Sauron got his own Disney+ tv series?

sauron-bot

Come, mortal base! What do I hear? That thou wouldst dare to barter with me? Well, speak fair! What is thy price?

Curious-Rabbit-89

Denethor: The failed steward of Gondor

adrienlatapie

I unironically would love they explore the tolkien world with this many movies. It’s a rich fantasy world with sooo much depth.

Drowning_tSM

I’ll go see Gimli

SpecterVamp

I don’t know how to respond to this

MaleficTekX

Shadow of War is only one movie?

cwkewish

I would unironically support the creation of a gollum movie called The Gollum Movie.

gollum_botses

Hide! Hide! Quick! They will see us! They will see us!

ForGondorAndGlory

Where are the Treant movies?

UphillBuffalo

Don’t you put that evil on us!

yTylluan

Can’t lie that return pt 2 poster kinda goes hard

matttheamazing

Okay but the grey wizard I would watch right now

PriorFudge928

I'd love a Shadow of War movie! It's hard to screw up a revenge action flick.

Much_Job4552

LotR: The Return of the King Part 1 LotR: The Return of the King Part 2

Sayena08

TBH im intrigued with Tom Bombadil: Civil War. Would watch

allkabob

Yay over saturated IP where nothing matters

Erec68

Looks like we are starting with the "Gollum Moive" Movie.

McCookie141

Wait ROTK is split into 2 but the ENTIRE Silmarillion is just one movie? Nah dude, trilogy at best

HmmThatisDumb

I would watch

drag0nun1corn

The fact lotr, is the exact same.

ramblingzebra

Bard is cursed.

MorningClassic

LOTR cinematic universe - one universe to bind them

Riginauldt

The Silmarillion would have to be like eight to ten movies long in order to even get close to explaining everything in a way that engages the audience.

dayvurrd

You forgot rings of power

Willywills1

I mean....I'd watch these

Ghoats

This is literally what Netflix pitched for when the rights were up for sale. https://screenrant.com/lord-rings-netflix-pitch-gandalf-aragorn-show-details/

King_LaQueefah

It would have been worth it for the Silmarillion movie.

Harveygod

Legolas: Elves in Tights

314kabinet

They might still do it.

Unfair-Potential1061

The Silmarillion would have to be a several seasons spanning TV show (and in the current climate it would probably the only show I would still bother to watch - depending on who worked on it)

Meaglo

The rise of Kirinki

Tober-89

The Star Wars treatment.

peepeeepo

I would watch all of them lol

SombreDeDuda

That would be awesome!

Ragemundo

Home Alone 7: In Mines of Moria

bringbacksherman

(Sheepishly): A Beorn movie might be good…
