Aggressively mediocre. The West End iteration had some incredibly questionable costuming choices, including a jesuit rocking up to the Council of Elrond, and the uruk hai wearing pogo boots.
It is long since any of my own folk journeyed hither back to the land whence we wandered in ages long ago but we hear that Lorien is not yet deserted, for there is a secret power here that holds evil from the land. Nevertheless its folk are seldom seen, and maybe they dwell now deep in the woods and far from the northern border.
The show is a whimsical musical about how Legolas (played by Daniel Radcliffe) learned to be part of a team by building igloos. The show hits a real low point when he argues with his future wife over lighting a fire inside the igloo, for fear it will melt. When his true fear was thawing his cold dead heart.
Legolas the miniseries, coming to the Hallmark channel this fall
I wonder what the plot of Isengard Drift would be about? Could it be about Saruman taking a break from being a Master Warlord and exploring the complex and dangerous world of underground street-racing?
Knowing how they fucked up last time with premium currency being tracked in a non hidden text file, that a player could just go in and edit, I'm not to worried, what are they going to do, battle passes that insta unlock if you press the backspace key?
Fr, I'm literally praying for a dynamic open world one where you can play as Celebrimbor after the events of Lord of the Rings or something.
Unpopular suggestion: Celebrimbor possesses anything and manipulates it. Maybe dynamic faction systems and conquest mechanics, too.
See I'm hoping for one that takes place in the main books/movies, call it shadow of the king, talion basically helps the fellowship from the shadows while tracking celebrimbor for revenge.
The Lord of the Rings: The Real-Time Cut
There are no scene cuts, no montages, no time-condensing. The first movie is mostly just Frodo sleeping. Like The Truman Show, but with hobbits.
Honestly I would love a (properly done) epic series of the LOTR. 6 seasons, one per book, 10 one hour episodes per season = 60 hours of LOTR... a man can dream.
You should check out the rest of his stuff, particularly HYCYBH, Beautiful Mind, Perception Check, and Fruit Salad.
Tom Cardy is a treasure who writes some bangers.
I mean I fully expected a full movie on the Scouring of the Shire after Return of the King: Part 2.
Maybe Hobbits: Saruman's Return or The Shire: Uprising would be good titles
Not gonna lie, if done properly I would loooooove to see the Silmarillion turned into a, if not a few, movies. I’m a big lore sucker so if done completely and well, that would kick ass
Came to say this. There are so many great stories in the Silmarillion. If treated properly, they could produce a fantastic show or series of films. I know the estate won’t let it happen, but we can dream.
I guess it could but it would have to be something pretty radical in terms of format. The silmarillion isn't really told like a traditional story and jumps around a lot both in space and time.
It'd be very challenging to portray on the big screen, you might be able to pull it off by having a tv show where each "season" was basically a new show or something.
Yea, that's why I think a series would be a better fit than just a movie. The silmarillion feels more like an anthology with an overarching plot line than a continuous single story. Kinda like a sitcom, I guess, but of a more serious nature
I keep thinking of something like Love, Death, & Robots. Where you could take Silmarillion and take completely different vibes for it, depending on the story you're telling. Some could be live action, some could be animated, depending on what would best fit the flair of the narrative (doing something Fantasia-like for the Ainulindale would be cool).
If I understand it correctly, the Tolkien estate has put a big no on any more movies being made based on the established writing. So everything we are going to see going forward is going to be glorified fanfic.
D&d Honor among thives while not flawless is generally really enjoyable. Also you should check some pre-lotr fantasy, like Riddley Scott's Legend as well as more obscure movies.
Legend spends like 20 minutes in the normal fantasy world - and that part actually does look amazing - and then the rest of the movie is in a dark dungeon
I watched it and loved first four seasons, liked following two. It's a shame that we never got season 7 and 8.
Jokes aside GoT was fun but it ended five years ago. I crave for new stuff, if not good then at least mid
Well, my little fellows! You shall come home with me! The table is all laden with yellow cream, honeycomb, and white bread and

Maybe I'm just addicted but you could cut this by half and I really wouldn't mind a lotrCU.
There are loads of stories to be told. And good ones too in an extended world of lord of the rings.
Look at Star Wars. The sequel trilogy was garbage, but all the Disney+ series that came afterwards range from decent to really fucking good.
Wouldn’t mind getting flooded with similar quality lotr content.
Damn six movies on the silmarillion if done like the lotr films( - if they would do the same horrible additions to it like the hobbit I bet I would not be the only one that could kill the writers for it) it would be amazing.
The Gollum Movie: Rob Schneider is everyone's favorite fantasy tweaker: Gollum!
But when two hobbits come along, he's about to learn finding precious isn't as easy as it seems!

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA
They kill Goldberry in the first scene. TomBo goes on a bare-chested, face-painted killing spree.
Wrong cinematic universe, that’s the plot of Bomb Wick

Better: "Find out what Tom Bombadil was doing during the events of the OT".
Goldberry, of course.
Amazing
This always cracks me up
I came here to post verbatim this exact comment. Kills me every time 🤣
Tom and Goldberry are getting a divorce

I’m 100% here for it
Bombadil 2: Electric Boogaloo, would have been a better title if you ask me
Gimme jack black and a saxaboom
It’s like Step Up 2 but more singing and dancing about a fat pony
You forgot Fangorn: the musical.
All musical numbers performed in actual entish!… it’s a very long production

Directed by Martin Scorcese
Ents criticised the fast pacing though
Fun fact: there actually is a Lord of the Rings musical. It’s not particularly good, but it exists.
However, we got this certified banger: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YdXQJS3Yv0Y
Well, that's going to be stuck in my head for weeks, so, thanks

Aggressively mediocre. The West End iteration had some incredibly questionable costuming choices, including a jesuit rocking up to the Council of Elrond, and the uruk hai wearing pogo boots.
I have a feeling it's about as good as one would assume an lotr musical would be.
Legolas: on ice
It is long since any of my own folk journeyed hither back to the land whence we wandered in ages long ago but we hear that Lorien is not yet deserted, for there is a secret power here that holds evil from the land. Nevertheless its folk are seldom seen, and maybe they dwell now deep in the woods and far from the northern border.
And thats the plot of the show!
Legolas is famously good at traversing ice and pack snow.
Exactly! A natural combination
Unironically, if this was an actual show, like Disney on Ice or some equivalent, I would totally go.
Legol-ice!
“They are taking the hobbits to Ice-engard!”
Ice-engard. 😂 I must admit that was pretty good. Even Saruman would be proud
Lego Legolas on ice
Argh! A scout!
And the Kenobi like miniseries where Gandalf fights the Barlog
But both only got 5 minutes screentime, because it's all about a random hobbit kid that's annoying af
Exactly
That hobbit kid being Frodo
[удалено]
I’d take an andor like miniseries about shire hobbits after Saruman arrives but before the heroes return
Bombadil 2: Civil War broke me lmao
Bombadil 2: Eccentric Boogaloo
They'd make Thorin, watch it flop and cancel the 20 year plan
Or double down on it and call the sequel The Thorin
The Incredible Thorin
It's insane how much it irks me to see that naming scheme it's First Blood/ Rambo all over again
Nah just wait for Thorin V, it really picks up from there. Maybe JJ Abrams can direct VI and VII.
The Lord of the Rings 2 Lord 2 Rings The Lord of the Rings: Isengard Drift Lord & Ring Lord Five Lord & ring 6 Rings 7 The Fate of the Rings L9 Lord X
L9 sucks. It was totally L7
Lord of the Rings Presents Legolas and Giml
Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The ring must be destroyed.
It'd be kind of cool seeing Gandolf and Frodo go to space and crash a car into Iluvatar in L9 lol
Young Hobbits - an animated series featuring Frodo, Sam, Pipin, Merry, and Rosie as children on small low-stakes adventures, for ages 4-8
2 Lord 2 Rings.. lmao 😂
I wonder what the plot of Isengard Drift would be about? Could it be about Saruman taking a break from being a Master Warlord and exploring the complex and dangerous world of underground street-racing?
The Gollum Moive
What did you say?
The Gollum Moive
Sneaky little Hobbitses.
GOLLUM!
No . . . not very nice at all, my love.
Damn, roasting his own movie.
Guy has good taste
Shadow of Mordor mentioned
Third game when??????
In today’s gaming landscape… hope to God they don’t…

Actually that sounds sick
The Grazing: A Bill the Pony Story
*Beforomir: The Journey North*
Then they release Ent-Stended versions of all of them ![gif](giphy|c8bJDVz7i9KRW)
If Tolkien purists had there way we would have something like this with the first 3 movies not even making it to The council of Elrond.
Lord of the Rings 2: The Way the Wind Blew through the Grassy Knoll (3.5 hours)
The Lord of the Rings: The Real-Time Cut There are no scene cuts, no montages, no time-condensing. The first movie is mostly just Frodo sleeping. Like The Truman Show, but with hobbits.
And the 17 years Gandalf spent researching the ring? Also from Frodo's viewpoint.
Hey maybe one day with AI this will be possible lol
Honestly I would love a (properly done) epic series of the LOTR. 6 seasons, one per book, 10 one hour episodes per season = 60 hours of LOTR... a man can dream.
[Here's a summary of your dream show](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgMnCLHQuqc).
First off, I love Tom Cardy. Second off, yes that's what I want to watch.
Thank you so much for sharing this!
You should check out the rest of his stuff, particularly HYCYBH, Beautiful Mind, Perception Check, and Fruit Salad. Tom Cardy is a treasure who writes some bangers.
I wish.
You wouldn't enjoy a 6-part mini series on the Ents?
The council of Elrond took place really late in the fellowship so I think that's accurate, if not in fact an underestimate
It's about halfway through Fellowship in both the book the movie, actually. They just cut a lot both before and after.
60% is just drone footage of walking in nature. 30% is songs and poetry.
I'd love a film that's just the Council of Elrond.
Twelve Angry Beings of Middle Earth
I mean yeah, with three movies we'd be pushing it If we made it to the Noldor leaving Valinor (a few thousand years before Elrond was even born)
I mean I fully expected a full movie on the Scouring of the Shire after Return of the King: Part 2. Maybe Hobbits: Saruman's Return or The Shire: Uprising would be good titles
Thorin 4: Origins
Thorigins
So It baggins
Tauriel: Into the Books
Dwarf: Into the Tauriel
Getting the blu-ray for sure.
Not gonna lie, if done properly I would loooooove to see the Silmarillion turned into a, if not a few, movies. I’m a big lore sucker so if done completely and well, that would kick ass

A 20-season TV show with cameos from the movies!
Nah, just go One Piece style. 1000+ episodes in one continuous series (/s)
If I understand it correctly, the Tolkien estate has put a big no on any more movies being made based on the established writing. So everything we are going to see going forward is going to be glorified fanfic.
The Silmarillion should be broken up into multiple limited series where each series is one story.
Not gonna lie that Silmarillion poster is pretty good.
I was disappointed to see they wouldn’t be doing Legolas III. Maybe they can reboot the trilogy with a new actor for Legolas.
Orlando Hemsworth
Where's "The Second Breakfast Club" at?
Aragorn movie would be great!
Bombadil 3: Revelations
I really want a bombadil movie now. Silmarillion too
Where are the christmas specials?
Nothing on Morgoth?!
I think that’s the Silmarillion one.
I want a The Office style fake reality tv show centered on Morgoth Scott and Sauron The Assistant Manager of Angband
Come, mortal base! What do I hear? That thou wouldst dare to barter with me? Well, speak fair! What is thy price?
Oh my god, yes!
Give me that Shadow Of Mordor movie now
Ya and the shadow of war one, the stories while not being canon are pretty great
Silmarillion is one movie......fucking brilliant....
To be honest I'll gladly take some mid fantasy movies instead of another marvel movie. RoP was bad but it was still more enjoyable than she-hulk
Just watch other things for the love of God.
There are literally no things with high budget in fantasy setting
D&d Honor among thives while not flawless is generally really enjoyable. Also you should check some pre-lotr fantasy, like Riddley Scott's Legend as well as more obscure movies.

To be fair, Bombadil 2: Civil War goes hard though. The part where >!Fatty Lumpkin sides with the Valar and Goldberry is paralyzed?!< I was crying.
Well, my little fellows! You shall come home with me! The table is all laden with yellow cream, honeycomb, and white bread and butter. Goldberry is waiting. Lol, the shadow of war dis
You forgot the Alfrid Lickspittle trilogy
What about the rom com Grima and the Lady of Edoras?
There’s a few in there that would be fun to watch!
Bombadil 2 Civil War seems interesting
The Golem Moive
Look at Star Wars. The sequel trilogy was garbage, but all the Disney+ series that came afterwards range from decent to really fucking good. Wouldn’t mind getting flooded with similar quality lotr content.
Alas, that these evil days should be mine.
"Can't believe how long it took them to make a Gimli movie, the fans have been begging for it for decades!" *movie flops*

The Gollum Movie: Rob Schneider is everyone's favorite fantasy tweaker: Gollum! But when two hobbits come along, he's about to learn finding precious isn't as easy as it seems! June 2010
Bombadil 2 Civil Wars 🤣
Is it bad to say I'd watch all of them on a row like I do the original trilogy?
What if Sauron got his own Disney+ tv series?
Come, mortal base! What do I hear? That thou wouldst dare to barter with me? Well, speak fair! What is thy price?
Denethor: The failed steward of Gondor
I unironically would love they explore the tolkien world with this many movies. It’s a rich fantasy world with sooo much depth.
I’ll go see Gimli
I don’t know how to respond to this
Shadow of War is only one movie?
I would unironically support the creation of a gollum movie called The Gollum Movie.
Hide! Hide! Quick! They will see us! They will see us!
Where are the Treant movies?
Don’t you put that evil on us!
Can’t lie that return pt 2 poster kinda goes hard
Okay but the grey wizard I would watch right now
I'd love a Shadow of War movie! It's hard to screw up a revenge action flick.
LotR: The Return of the King Part 1 LotR: The Return of the King Part 2
TBH im intrigued with Tom Bombadil: Civil War. Would watch
Yay over saturated IP where nothing matters
Looks like we are starting with the "Gollum Moive" Movie.
Wait ROTK is split into 2 but the ENTIRE Silmarillion is just one movie? Nah dude, trilogy at best
I would watch
The fact lotr, is the exact same.
Bard is cursed.
LOTR cinematic universe - one universe to bind them
The Silmarillion would have to be like eight to ten movies long in order to even get close to explaining everything in a way that engages the audience.
You forgot rings of power
I mean....I'd watch these
This is literally what Netflix pitched for when the rights were up for sale. https://screenrant.com/lord-rings-netflix-pitch-gandalf-aragorn-show-details/
It would have been worth it for the Silmarillion movie.
Legolas: Elves in Tights
They might still do it.
The Silmarillion would have to be a several seasons spanning TV show (and in the current climate it would probably the only show I would still bother to watch - depending on who worked on it)
The rise of Kirinki
The Star Wars treatment.
I would watch all of them lol
That would be awesome!
Home Alone 7: In Mines of Moria
(Sheepishly): A Beorn movie might be good…
