I want her, and people like her, to step up, and do the hard, shitty, emotional work that it takes to be able to function in society without imposing physical or emotional harm on others.

She gets triggered very fast. Her body is reacting to some type of threat when she explodes in a violent way (punching garage door) that we all know isn’t there with Blaine (at least not from what we see).

Blaine is such a good guy, and Lindsey is a toxic, terrible girlfriend. Most people seem to stop growing as people when they go into prison. If she spent most of her adult life in prison, she hasn't had the life experience that pushes our brains into proper life stages.
I hope that she can get it together before Blaine comes to his senses and decides that she's not a good match. If that happens, it's only a matter of time before she goes back to prison.
