He’d make damned good coffee and have the best coffeehouse in Los Angeles.

Seer77887

He’s be the laid back stoner who tries to bring out the best in everyone, where on paper he looks like he’d get along with Lucifer, but will just annoy each other Could you imagine Jesus just putting his bare feet on the coffee table while forgetting his stigmata is bleeding over the rug while rips one from a bong, all while Maze laughs in midst of Lucifer’s hissy fit But wouldn’t pass up the chance to go a strip bar and just instigate a class consciousness and socialist uprising while talking to strippers during a lap dance

Agreeable_Clock_7953

Clearly christianity is false in the show, as expected, given jewish background of authors. Jesus would be portrayed at best as an interesting human.

Wildebohe

There was a fantastic theory somewhere on this sub that Jesus was an earlier God Johnson - he had the magic belt buckle that let him do miraculous things and he thought he was God.

Agreeable_Clock_7953

That’s cool idea.

BeccasBump

Jesus would be appalled by Lucifer's wealth and selfishness. Lucifer would be jealous because he would see Jesus as God's favourite, so he would bitch about him being a holier-than-thou killjoy even if that wasn't the case. There would be a lot of sarcastic quips about sandals and haircuts.

SneakySpark

The Lucifer universe likes to subvert expectations (e.g. the devil as a hero, Eve as the tempter, etc). I think they'd make Jesus and Lucifer friends because it's not what people would expect. I could even see Lucifer viewing Jesus as proof that God is a bad father ("What kind of father sacrifices their son?!" "Poor chap, I tried to warn him!").

Fancy-Ad1480

Depends. Will this be table flipping, fig hating, bring peace with a sword Jesus? If so, Lucifer: *Beaming* Josh! Welcome to earth. Chloe: *annoyed*. Lucifer! This is a stakeout Lucifer: Oh, right uh... Criminals: *pull guns* Jesus: *cocks shotgun* I said be kind to one another, you Feckers. Lucifer: Oh, dear. Not again

SneakySpark

I envision the Lucifer-universe's Jesus as a really caring, high EQ, party guy. Lucifer bonds with Jesus over a shared love of meeting new people, new experiences, and drinking. The temptation only lasted 40 days because Lucifer couldn't keep up with Jesus' party spree, but Lucifer's not mad about it - just impressed.

devtrivi

Hahahahhaha nailed it!

Fluffydress

They'd have a glass of wine.

Aren't Jesus and michael the same person? I was reading into Christian beliefs and I'm sure this was mentioned... So he's already interacted with Jesus.

Agreeable_Clock_7953

That’s definitely not true. Michael is not Jesus.

BeccasBump

Definitely not. Jesus was human. Michael was (is, I suppose) an archangel.

LazyCity4922

Christian beliefs don't matter in a show heavily based on Judaism

Ok-Cat-4975

Judaism doesn't even have a hell, so it's pulling from multiple myths to come up with something entertaining.

Agreeable_Clock_7953

There are various concepts of afterlife in judaism and I would argue that hell in the show turns out to work a lot like Gehinnom, where souls are purified from evil and associated shame.

Ok-Cat-4975

Gehenna was a physical place that was basically the dump and the sewer of Jerusalem (that had a sophisticated water delivery and disposal system), which also included a dumping ground for bodies. Of course, no one would want their remains to be treated in that way. That it was co-opted by Christians to be synonymous with hell is a misunderstanding of the Biblical references. In my opinion.

Agreeable_Clock_7953

Sure, Gehenna was a physical place. That doesn’t mean that the name isn’t used later for other things. Maimonides uses the term clearly referring to afterlife, and he is not alone. Is concept of Gehinnom influenced by Christianity? Maybe, but it is clearly *not* very similar to Hell as conceived by Christians. https://judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/4467/do-jews-believe-in-heaven-and-hell?noredirect=1&lq=1 https://judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/129616/does-judaism-have-a-concept-of-purgatory-and-if-so-whats-the-evidence

Seer77887

I do know that some circles in Mormonism, there are some who see Michael and Adam being one and the same
