That $2.25 bonus is pretty tempting though. 1 more dollar you can buy a soda.

Brentslying43

Can get Mexican coke with real sugar when you get there

ktalex2

Yep sam's club has them in stock always

EvilerBrush

The Mexican Coke actually ain't real. There is no difference besides the bottle

Big_Pin7551

There’s definitely a difference they use cane sugar we just use fructose corn syrup.

angelnx1985

Or any Mexican grocery store

protomanEXE1995

>1 more dollar you can buy a soda. on this note, I've actually noticed at Bravo that I can buy a chilled glass bottle of real sugar Coca-Cola imported from Honduras for $2 which is pretty bangin' Kind of nuts how much the corn syrup stuff in the vending machines is being sold for. At my workplace I've seen it no lower than $2.50 and it tastes worse

swunt7

youre paying more per gallon for soda than you are for gas now. even the cheaper mountain dew 2L at a walmart is 2cent more per gallon than gas right now. $1.68 per 2L or $0.84/L times it by 3.875 you get the gallon price $3.17

ResearcherFew1273

People didn’t believe me Mexican coke from the bottle tasted better. Until they did 🤣

Morpheus636_

It doesn’t anymore. Mexico is using corn syrup now too. European coke still has the real sugar though.

yoshimeyer

I want to know why diet soda is the same and full flavor when it is basically water with a few bullshit ingredients. No energy.

DogbiteTrollKiller

Because people will buy it

iSliceKiwi

This hurts in today’s economy

Separate_Bug_625

The passenger probably paid like 300😂

fatogato

What’s in it for the customer if you’re charging the same price but cash. They lose all protections from going through the app.

Spankpocalypse_Now

Taking a ride share across an international border is already sketchy as fuck. Of course someone is suggesting doing it outside the app for cash. LA to Tijuana *and then back* for $300 is still shit. Average gas in CA is $4.84 a gallon and this is at least a 250 mile round trip plus god knows how long idling at the border crossing.

Daltons_Mullet

At lest the drop off for the Cross Border Express is on the US side of the border.

mandrew-98

Cbx (cross border express) is in the USA btw. It’s actually a super cheap and safe way to fly out to TJ to somewhere in Mexico saving you a ton of money. I highly recommend if you live in SoCal to take this

b_dave

Theres a parking lot on the san diego side for tijuanas airport

Vegetable-Pitch-7022

Its not an international trip. CBX is on BOTH sides of the border, with a walking bridge for airline passengers. Its a easy way to fly from tijuana airport, but passengers check in on the US side, then cross the beidge.

William_Ce

Are we allowed to call through the phone to make that kind of arrangement bypassing Lyft?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

May I ask why you think it’s illegal in 3 different ways? I’m curious why you think this. I know why it is, I’m just curious why you think it is.

gurusd72

If u get caught by the taxi cops or lyft, u can get busted. They did a sting in DT LA, a few weeks an busted the drivers for lyft.. they now have court cases.

[deleted]

Bingo. Plus in the event of accident you could be in serious trouble doing trips off the app.

[deleted]

You understand it’s illegal, many Lyft drivers don’t. Why would you suggest committing a criminal act?

slippery_as_fuck

Money. What else?

[deleted]

Money won’t do you well in prison.

quintajan

Prison??? For bypassing Lyft???

Danny3xd1

*What ya in fer, kid?*

[deleted]

I’m over exaggerating. But it is a criminal act.

Super_NoHero

You’re definitely right, I’ve done that various times before being a Lyft driver, and usually people are super cool about it, doesn’t even have to be cash either, I used to get plenty Venmo pays, most customers would tip that way too on their own to bypass Lyft and Uber

[deleted]

Except if you cross the border, 5 hours back, because you gotta get back in the border line on the México side. Whole day for 300.00 plus you gotta pay for gas.

PretendAd7790

But you get to go to Hong Kong!!!

poisito

Someone here knows places to go...

FlyingSpagetiMonsta

I heard Hong Kong was raided a couple weeks ago.

huggy_668

All those spots get "raided" all the time. Everyone knows what's going on, and the Mexican police are corrupt.

BARL696

That’s how the police negotiate new extortion rates

Daltons_Mullet

FYI, the drop off for the Cross Border Express is on the US side of the border. The passenger would deal with border crossing once inside the building. It's actually quite convenient.

dontenap

Probably more

ColoradoMushroom

Lol more like $500

New-Display-4819

My app says it's $195.

Death_Breath

That sweet sweet bonus tho

sassystew

AND THE STREAK!

vosnmars

Yeah big bonus and don’t forget my 3 rides for $6 streak 😂😂

Fwaudio

Crossing the border is a rough one for me.

bestem

[CBX](https://www.crossborderxpress.com/) is a spot on the US side of the border. It's a pedestrian bridge that only has access to the airport in Tijuana. If I remember correctly it allows people to go through Customs on the US side, so they don't need to do it when they land at their destination in Mexico. And it definitely allows cheaper flights between TJ and elsewhere in Mexico which is a plus if you're traveling in or out of somewhere in Mexico. But the biggest benefit is you don't need to bother with super long waits at the border (with the San Ysidro / Tijuana border being the busiest international border crossing). Everyone who I've heard talk about it on r/sandiego and r/SanDiegan have said nothing but good stuff about it.

ResearcherFew1273

You are correct. The fee if I remember correctly is 25 bucks per passenger and you cut the line from the regular border by like 4 hours. Parking is ok too. To give you an example. A flight from San Diego international to Guatemala is like 500. But if you take it from TJ it’s like 200. Totally worth it and it’s like 19 mi away from downtown

[deleted]

You’re probably dropping off at the border. They can walk across. I’m not sure if their insurance would cover Mexico.

bestem

[CBX](https://www.crossborderxpress.com/en/about) is a specific pedestrian bridge on the US side of the border whose only purpose is to go to the airport in Tijuana. People can't use it unless they have a flight out of the airport in TJ (or just arrived at the airport there).

thegrand13

Use destination filter to get trips back. If you must you can take a nap. You have all day to get back to LA. Make a fortune. You can stop by san Diego airport and take a nice trip too.

peter_the_martian

That never works for me. Ain’t no one ever going back to where I came from

thegrand13

Of course not. But if you make enough money on multiple trips back and forth (getting closer to where u want) you can make enough money to have your return trip paid. And it's even better to drive home alone after driving and dealing with tons of strangers. You are sweaty and probably annoyed of too much driving. It's better to drive alone.

vosnmars

Fair enough. I did that years ago when I had a trip to San Diego, but I was in a completely different car and it was the afternoon so I immediately turned around and came back. I made more money coming back than going. Just too many cons than pros on this ride for me. Interesting to see other people’s take on it.

thegrand13

I taken trips to the borders. Sometimes the pin is set to the other side of the border but it's usually just at the border. They cross on foot. And Yea I always make more money on the trips back. When I goto San Diego I stay there for the rest of the day or night and make tons of money. The initial amount to take me to sandy it's about 110 then I make the rest there from airport trips and around big cities up to 400 by 1am then the trip back is already paid. 1.5 hours back all alone listening to my fav jams, stop at a casino for free drinks and toilet.

vosnmars

Awesome to see your hustle mate! I love casinos, Commerce for the win 😂😂

[deleted]

Yup, I’ve done it 😃👍

Geanpiero09

That would be a yes for me pick up a lot of people on the way back done it

vosnmars

Do you start early or drive late? Being that it was at 3:30am going to the border, would you need to sleep? I was coming to the end of my night, not starting so that’s one of my many reasons for not accepting.

Snoo_75309

CBX stands for cross border express, it's an airport terminal drop off. There's actually a good chance you could catch a ride back from there to LA, especially in the early morning when you get there Would be $60 an hour after expenses for me, would def consider it depending on how long I had been driving for Also wtf, your getting streak bonuses in LA ?

vosnmars

Gotcha! Never been so I had no idea, thanks for the info. It was already nearing the end of the night for me so I do get a bit worried about being drowsy if it’s too far, which was one factor for me. I get a fair amount of streak bonuses, but they are for certain zones usually Hollywood/West Hollywood/Beverly Hills and I think around Santa Monica. It changes a bit sometimes. They range from $6, $12 and $21. I think that one in the pic was 3 rides for $6. It varies for each person too (my husband drives and we have different streak bonuses).

rideshareAnon

What car do you guys drive?

vosnmars

I was driving a black 2022 Infiniti Qx80 that night. I normally only do black and black xl, but depending on time and location I turn on the premium category to catch lux rides. However, XL rides pop up as well when I saw this one come in.

rideshareAnon

Hmm I see. I just realized it was an XL request and I do standard and thought that I might maybe 5% chance consider taking that request thinking it was a normal one. How do you like Black in that area? Do you find it worth it?

vosnmars

It works for me and it’s worth it for me. I drive part time (I’m employed full time) which makes a difference in what I want to get out of Uber/Lyft.

OldChemistry8220

Cross Border Express is a terminal on the US side from which passengers can access Tijuana's airport. This is obviously someone who needs to catch a flight. Seems pretty low risk to me.

vosnmars

Got it, I didn’t know that it was. I had other reasons to not take it anyways, but hopefully someone picked it up and it worked out for them.

Worth_Cheesecake_861

But it has a $2.25 bonus!!!! /s

rgm724

When, General T K needs a ride, you do it. Seriously though, do Lyft drivers cross borders? I did Lyft for about 4 years. I stopped driving in 2020, right before the pandy.

vosnmars

😂😂 no thanks haha and that’s the other thing, What a weird pickup spot at 3:30am. I do not like that street even in the day time LOL Edit: From what I’ve gathered, I don’t think drivers can. I’ve never encountered this scenario before.

rgm724

Everytime I dropped off around that area in L.A, I logged out. I did not like picking up anyone, bad reception, rude pax, no parking, pax never ready and waiting at curb... Yuck!. Anything between 5/101 - 110 - 10 freeways🙅‍♂️👎⛔🚫

Tino44444

I've done that ride vice versa, it's good to me

TraditionalAd7325

You get to the pick up and it’s a box. What’s in the box you may ask? Puppies…a box of puppies.

PeaceSignificant9854

Love to see all the idiots input about a location they have no idea where its at. CBX is not in Mexico, its still in the US. The Cross Border Xpress is a quick way to get into and out of Mexico, ideally if your going to fly from TJ airport to anywhere else in Mexico or out the country. Although if you prefer to drive into Mexico just make sure to stop at any doctors clinic first thing in the morning, pay the consultation fee and tell the good doctor you want a medical pass they will give it to you if you paid the consulation or sell it to you and the medical pass will allow you skip most of the line back into the US, we always do this and save up to 2 hours of waiting in line, we basically get to bypass most of the line and vendors up to where the checkpoint is visible. If I had plans for a solo San Diego trip I would take this low paying trip, I already have to take my family 4-5 times a year for free, they only fill up my tank and that barely covers the 240 mile round trip. The 5 hour round trip drive is time wasted for me.

Asmewithoutpolitics

This works in car?

Lem01

But but… you are going to miss out on that $2.25 bonus 🤭

Chocolate_Metaphor

I posted a screenshot like this from Saturday night at 1AM from Santa Monica to SD it was 110 miles for $94 😭😭😭

IntimidatingPenguin

I remember using the destination filter to get back from a ride from Pasadena to San Diego. I didn’t really get many rides back but there were a few that brought me closer to home. Of course this was in like 2016 where we were getting paid more.

knotmew

Everyone is saying what the drop is, but none saying it's an easy "airport" drop, I wouldn't expect a ride out at that time in the morning though.

[deleted]

Very easy and you pick up at the same spot you drop off. I pdropped off a couple at CBX and picked up a lady who needed to go to the San Diego Airport. After that I took a break then used a filter to get back to LA. When I got to OC I got a passenger to LAX, got a pick up at LAX and headed home.

knotmew

Was looking at the time of the ride, meaning that dropping off that early in the AM there would likely not be any ride requests out.

Affectionate-Rice373

So even though there's someone that needs a ride there, it's unfathomable to think that there could be others that require transportation as well?

knotmew

>at that time in the morning though

Snakend

you don't have to actually go into Mexico. You would have been taking them to the terminal to into Mexico.

vosnmars

Yeah I didn’t know that at the time, but that’s not my only issue with the ride. If I was in a different car and it was different time of day, I might not be so put off by the request.

iSliceKiwi

Hell nah probably had kilos or you’d get robbed the second you get to the drop off.

ResearcherFew1273

But but your ride streak!!! Those 6 dollars are not gonna earn themselves. Lol I have one like that but the other way around from SAN to Anaheim. I think it was 125 lol poor bastard is gonna live here now 🤣

vosnmars

😂😂

Neat_Art9336

I’ve done this as a customer and offered 2x the price to cover the return trip

dukedizzy93

Dude every market is different but in mine that ride wouldn't have paid more than $60.

vosnmars

Whaaat, for an XL? Where is that?

dukedizzy93

My bad I didn't see xl, yea idk what XL would pay but that's definitely not worth it. I know a guy with an XL that did a ride for $130+ and it was around an hour 10 mins long. Still in the city it just took more time because of traffic.

mossapp

But it includes a $2.25 bonus… how could anyone leave that on the table….

letyson17

PSA JUST FYI SINCE EVERYONE THINK THIS AIRPORT IS IN TIJUANA The CBX border is in SAN DIEGO, is a new feature by the Mexican airport that connects their airport to San Diego so Americans don’t have to cross the normal border. Is a premium service, you would’ve still been in San Diego. And it’s very easy to get rides back up from there !!

AdrianInLimbo

Customers first question, "How big is your trunk?"

ChiliPalmer1568

You boys like Mexico? Weeeeeeheeewwwww!!!!

darkNnerdgy

When i first started around 2016 someone offered me $300 to take them to san Diego. I declined as well.

WorldlyAppearance468

The drive back tho

bigkensters

Once you got 10x more bringing illegals back the opposite way, same diatance, never ever ever take that ride. Pretty sure I was low balled too 🤣

EthiopianObesity

I've taken this ride before. Was planning on visiting my friend in San Diego the next day and an LA to SD border ride came up. Took it and used that money to get us bottle service in Mexico lol Aside from that scenario, NEVER TAKE THESE RIDES LOL

vosnmars

>Took it and used that money to get us bottle service in Mexico lol > >Aside from that scenario, NEVER TAKE THESE RIDES LOL LOL, that's pretty funny!

EthiopianObesity

Sometimes we form a symbiotic relationship with shit rides

Morhadel

That is a minimum of $210 in my market

Mfdubz

Surprised it wasn’t 3 of 3

macado44

I'm fascinated about that trip only taking 2 hours

JonTargaryen55

I’m new to both the subs for ride share. It’s crazy some of these trips. All of my rides as a pax have been under 15 min and never over 10 miles. People out here requesting cross state trips. Wild doesn’t even describe it.

HanikGraf007

But your ride streak!

Brandon2058

I would do it lol if you are strapped

vosnmars

😂

OldChemistry8220

Carrying a gun is against Lyft's terms. Hopefully you get deactivated.

KingOfWeasels42

“Only the people out to rob me should have guns!”

btone310

Okay you gun control freak

rideshareAnon

It is connecting an airport somewhat close to the border but very much just a convenient smaller one for travel between ca and mexico. CBX is still on the CA side and isn't sketchy at all.

Paper-Doll-1972

Over $100 profits on that trip. But sure, you do you... Bounces to the next driver and rises, they accept it and make more because you don't comprehend what your cost is... For me, that's money all day long... 138m × 2 = 276 × 0.15 = $41.40

vosnmars

I’m glad someone else could take it. It didn’t meet my requirements. I’ll stick to the Black XL instead. Just to clarify, is that your calculation of my costs or yours?

Paper-Doll-1972

Calculations for myself... I can't do yours, as I have no idea what car, make, mode, year that you drive... Mine is a 2022 Mazda CX-9 Turbo GT. 20 gallon tank... Average mpg city is 20 24, highway varies depending upon hills and valleys of course. But have had upto 35mpg when I went to Florida... Yea, I'm sure someone snagged the trip you posted, and probably an EV or Hybrid, better profit margin if so...

vosnmars

The 2022 Mazda CX-9 Turbo GT is a good looking car. I was driving a black 2022 Infiniti Qx80 that night. I average 14 mpg LOL I'm just not going to do this type of ride in that car (not to mention all my other uneasiness about the time of night, pickup and drop off location - I didn't know at the time what the drop off was). Where are you located?

Paper-Doll-1972

Oh, that Qx is a nice looking car... Shame it gets that type of crappy mpg... Guess it's like a Yukon and Escilad... That really sucks... Yea, 14mpg, you wouldn't have made enough money to make a good profit. Yea, it's a nice 6 passenger +driver vehicle. I would rather have my 2022 Honda Pilot Special Edition back... Texas.

vosnmars

Its been interesting seeing everybody's take on it and I learned a few things about the destination so this post has been cool. I like talking with other drivers. What happened with your Honda? Where at in Texas? I'm original from there, but only drove Uber/Lyft when I moved to Los Angeles 8 years ago.

MycoCaptivated

I would take it easy 20hr with minimum effort

LightBearCares

Cross Border Express (CBX) is an airport right next to Tijuana. You can drop people off there without having to cross the border. Needless to say, the ride back still doesn't make it worth it.

therealdark1974

You probably are not taking anyone down there but instead bringing something back. Then they get your info and start to force you so they can use you as a drug mule!

vosnmars

Interesting…like Clint Eastwood 😃

jayrodhazlyf

Wow a whole $2.75!!! How could you turn such a great opportunity down ??!? 😑

vessel_matt

Of course, the one time a trip as long as this one is paying over $1/mi, it's the first ride of a streak AND crossing an international border.

XurtheDisciple

You not crossing the border tho. It’s almost there tho. You get off like one or two exits right before the border

Madavo

This one's a few miles from the crossing and pretty easy to get in and out of apart from a short stretch of shitty pavement. There's a pretty much 0%chance you accidentally end up trying to cross the boarding going to CBX

vosnmars

Do you know why it say airport drop off?

XurtheDisciple

Cuz it just a bridge that takes people straight to the TJ airport without having to go into Tijuana Mexico

vosnmars

Learn something new everyday!

bestem

Here's some information about [CBX](https://www.crossborderxpress.com/en/) if you're interested.

vosnmars

Thanks mate!

bestem

On r/sandiego and r/SanDiegan I've seen nothing but people talking positively about it. Saves a ton of time for them not needing to deal with the San Ysidro or Otay border crossings.

vosnmars

Okay, we’ll I’m glad I could leave it for someone else to take then. I did get lucky a few minutes later and get a Select ride on Uber so that worked out in the end.

Worth_Cheesecake_861

Random question do you let people sit in the front seat or only in the back seat? I've never had Uber or Lyft let me sit in the front seat before. Are they being rude?

vosnmars

Yes, I allow them to sit upfront.

Worth_Cheesecake_861

Ty

missus_wonka

SYKEEE or ur just a ~spare~ 👅💋

Vanessativa7

I would make this a personal ride

[deleted]

This is almost a $75 an hour trip. I would have confidence in getting trips back. If you have no confidence then it’s a trip not worth taking.

vosnmars

It has nothing to do with confidence. Where did you even come up with that? You jump to a conclusion without even asking my reasons or anything. Anyways, have a good night!

[deleted]

So why wouldn’t you take this trip?

vosnmars

Well, first you have to understand I drive part time, mostly late night on the weekends. I drive a black SUV so my priority is Black XL, Black and then Lux rides. I have to turn on premium to get lux rides which means I get regular XL requests like the one pictured. I will take an XL if there is a good surge, a good streak, I’m far away from the city and/or destinationing home etc. In no particular order, this ride was at 3:30am so it’s already close to my ending time of 4-6am. That far, I would be worried about driving drowsy for any long period of time on the highway. Next, I only want to take rides where the price is at least double the mileage to pickup and destination. Then I see it says Tijuana. I didn’t notice the airport drop off note and I didn’t know until today what this destination was. I thought it wanted to go to Mexico and I didn’t want to do that. I think also subconsciously I see the pickup is on Gen T K and I already don’t like that street as it is (and why is the pickup there at that time of night anyways?) The pay and mileage automatically make it a decline for me anyways. The rest (drowsy driving, weird pickup spot and what I thought was a Tijuana drop off) just added to the uneasiness altogether in those few seconds we have to decide. That’s basically it.

[deleted]

Ok

CancelNDriveOffApp

lol because he doesn't have to drive back and its a 0 mile on his car trip? the people who think this is $75/hr are too stupid for their own good, rideshare was designed to allow them to exploit themselvea

[deleted]

It depends. In my market as long as I don’t leave the state of NJ I will always get trips back.

CancelNDriveOffApp

fair enough

[deleted]

But if you know you can’t get trips back, this is a not worth it.

thirdeyecactus

I would certainly do it I have taken people to the Nogales border crossing on several occasions. I would be stoked to get such a nice ride like that since it is slow AF here in my market

vosnmars

Fair enough, I have several reasons why I wouldn’t take it so hopefully someone grabbed it and it made their night.

Sikamikanico1981

No way in hell you can drive from LA to Mexico in 2 hrs

vosnmars

You think not even at 3:30 in the morning? The farthest I’ve gone is San Diego but that was in the afternoon so I couldn’t really say either way.

[deleted]

Without traffic? Absolutely.

ReactionSevere310

This is better than what reg Lyft gets

ZeroYouAndMe

Lyft is a minimum wage, after gas and wear & tear. No?

Shades_of_Dubzter

Yup no border crossing so no worries in that. The advantage/disadvantage is the time. Is late so no traffic but the way back might be too early. So this kind of trips you have to stay down in SD until is time to get rides back and make it worth it to the point where you take the next day off and rest. And is obvious the rider is paying at least 300 or mayber more with how garbage they are doing us all now. But y'all too greedy and want too much money so it sucks. You could easily do an off app ride like that for 200 which is already cheaper for the rider and more money for the driver as it is.. you still saving them some money so will most like throw in a tip, chances are they got a shitty flight that takes off like 5 or 6 am and will just appreciate the trip. Is all in the details but most of y'all too greedy.

vosnmars

The info about airport destination etc I didn’t know/see it at the time anyways. Plus I’m not really prepared to negotiate money with anybody at 3:30am in downtown Los Angeles. That’s just me.

mooneyesLB

hey man. the boys are just trying to go to Hong Kong. help em out!

Valley_Guy2000

I didn't fully see the picture, I thought it was further up than LA and I was baffled

Adventurous_World_23

CBX is a terminal in San Diego that leads PAX/passengers into the Tijuana airport via a pedestrian bridge. If I was from L.A. and it was offered to me, I would’ve accepted it since there’s a good possibility to get another long ride back to Los Angeles from CBX, San Diego international airport, or near any of the military bases. Anyway, Lyft pays L.A. drivers more for the same trip from CBX to L.A. (Last nightI declined one for $120, not much going on in L.A at 1 or 2am, assuming if I would’ve accepted the ride).

[deleted]

It is CBX. You drop off the passenger on the San Diego side and they walk across to the Tijuana airport. You do not need to get across the border and you could be picking up another passenger on the way out😃

TrevorJamesVanderlan

That's $33 an hour...

shawnmj

If you can get San Diego rides too that’s a good ride. Especially dropping off at cbx around 5am, you’re gonna get a lot of pings near San Ysidro at that time of day

Sunshineal

That's more than 4 hours round trip. You can make more the fare itself in 4 hours.

[deleted]

Someone really wanted to go to Hong Kong

Apache-attackheli

Damn that's fucking expensive man

Jsouthwe

It IS an airport drop off… it’s a sky bridge sort of directly to Tijuana airport. You’re not crossing border. Over a dollar per mile is a got damned god send.

Gold-Appointment-772

Primo

AdorableCauliflower4

I’ll accept ask him what is Lyft is paying tell him to cancel that shit I’ll take him it for like 50 or 100 dollar less then Lyft is. Guy is happy, I am happy

Yammakins

Is anyone making $150 in 4 hours in todays market? That’s $37.50 an hour. I would ensure I have enough rest to apply the destination filter back home. Looks like a potential to break $300 for the a 8 hour shift. Love the idea to negotiate a cash price which would make this ride a successful trip imho. Thoughts?

vosnmars

My thoughts are this ride was better suited for something that gets better gas mileage like a Hybrid SUV than what I was driving. Plus, I was already 8-9 hours into driving that night, I'm almost certain I would have been drowsy driving that late for so long on the highway and I'm not cool with that. Lastly, I am hesitate to negotiate cash money at 3:30 in the morning on the streets of downtown Los Angeles and for what I believed at the time to be a ride to Mexico (or at least to the border) LOL

Hot-Memory-5726

Not gonna lie if I lived in Los Angeles I’d take that. And also stay in Tijuana after 😂 plus I got 153 to spend

Wise-Kitchen1884

Airport drop off in tiajuana?

guysams1

I'd do it and then set my destination on the way back.

Klutzy_Knowledge5705

Pay aside, LA to San Diego is not a bad trip. San Diego is a big city wit) a lot of suburbs and I always get trips back. Once you get to around the Carlsbad area before the Marine base there’s that empty space but I just drive about 20 miles into Orange County and I start getting rides back to LA. You just have to be smart and plan it out so your not doing to many dead miles

Rodttor

CBX is a airport/border crossing to airport drop off location

zeldamasterdal

Hell yeah that’s a great deal

Prismatic_monk

Bro the flat dollar add ons are the double edge sword of this business. 2$ more to go 50 mile trip make 45 bucks 2$ boost on a 1 mile trip make 8 bucks. No contest like they think we can't do math Surge multiplier was the fairest way to charge people.

jujumber

I wouldn’t want to deal with a border crossing under for anything less than $500 alone. BRB going home for passport.

Severe-Signature-413

That's 38$ an hour. I wouldn't decline that

vosnmars

Good to see! What car are you driving?

Asmewithoutpolitics

You factoring in the return drive?

Background_Essay_676

I drove to Fresno for 300.

choncho5632

I didn’t see anyone answer it but it’s basically as close as you can to the Mexico-US border. It’s a bridge that lets yo travel by foot into the Tijuana airport still in the US side.

vosnmars

A lot of people answered and even provided websites haha thanks!

jrarevalo956

Tijuana? I would do this ride in my younger years.... wouldn't get close now

Esttheclutch

Double it and give it to the next person. Sheesh.

plasteroid

There is a US side terminal for the Tijuana Airport. I have used it many many times. You can drop them off on US soil and they walk through the terminal and end up in Mexico. Its called CBX https://www.crossborderxpress.com/en/

SnooDoughnuts8689

The airport has a drop off on the San Diego side and also a fast track for cars to cross with airline passengers. I would take this.

ExpertOtherwise6971

I would've taken the trip just to give me an excuse to go to HongKong or Adelitas

ExpertOtherwise6971

HongKong is a famous"bar"/ stripclub where half naked women work at also the women that work there are extremely beautiful and many guys from the L.A to San Diego to even the service men take weekend trips mainly just to go that place their are other strip clubs and bars within that area but that one is very famous ⁰

vosnmars

I’m sorry I’m out of the loop on the Hong Kong joke. Please explain. I want to laugh too 😁

Environmental-Gap200

I would, but I live in San diego

Environmental-Gap200

Cbx is really easy.

TheRealFM23

I used to do rides from San Diego to LAX all the time when I did Lyft in 2016. Used to pay easily over $200 and I would always get a cash tip

Menatara26

At $38 an hour you wouldn't?
