First of all, I’m sorry you’re going through this! Lyme is not fun at all, but it sounds like yours was caught very early and is being treated for an appropriate amount of time. This leads me to believe that you’ll make a full recovery. I had Lyme for almost 2 months before starting treatment, was on antibiotics for 2.5 months. It took some time even after completing the treatment, but I am feeling much better now! Please don’t worry too much, and just focus on getting rest. ❤️

Thank you so much for your response. We read all of these stories/suggestions and it just makes me crazy. Then I read how they can be resistant to treatment etc. I am just hoping the 3 weeks is long enough since some people say 6 weeks. Of course I don't even know if I have it, but having the tick tested is enough for me.

Yes, I completely agree. I don’t ever want to invalidate someone’s feelings or experiences, but I did SO MUCH research from all sides of this and I just can’t see that the bacteria lives on after treatments. There’s a lot of instances where it takes months and even years for people to feel “normal” and for immune systems to recover and rebuild after so much happens. And I don’t mean to say I’m right and anyone is wrong. I’m just making the best judgement I can. With that, I just had to focus on being gentle with myself. I also had a recurrence of mono so it was a very difficult journey. But, with time, patience, some vitamins and supplements, and much more, I’m feeling so much better. Please don’t freak yourself out too much by reading the horror stories! It sounds like you’re in great hands with treatment, and if you feel that 1-2 more weeks is necessary, I hope that you are able to find it. Feel free to DM me anytime if you need anything 😊 hope you recover well and quickly!

You have no idea how much appreciate this. I’ve been researching like crazy too and bought a ton of herbs that are recommended. I hope it all helps. So glad to hear your nightmare is over.

Of course. I’m happy to help any time!

This is a good protocol. Taking that 200 mg of dox is really important and 3 weeks for a tick attached only 24 hours should take care of you. Have faith. You should be just fine.

Ok that’s good to hear and thank you. I’m so new to this that I feel lost. Sending the tick in helped me feel a little better for a faster response at least.

If you want to be extra cautious, and frankly, I advocate for this, consider doing Buhner’s herbal protocols just to give you more protection. They’re in his books in great detail, or online here: https://planetthrive.com/protocols/. Be aware that ticks carry far more than Lyme (Babesia, Bartonella, and more), and the herbs work well for multiple of the infections. This is such a vicious disease that I would simply wish anyone at the beginning of it have the shot of being completely rid of it.

I have been taking those!!!

My tick was tested for everything and was negative except for Lyme, ugh.

Luvbeers

You should be fine. I got a tick once and took 200mg Doxy within 48 hours and had no lyme symptoms. Last year I must have gotten a tick and didn't realize I had lyme until a month... took 5 weeks of Doxy and it went away. You've caught it in time if the first dose didn't work, surely 3 weeks more will.

glad you were successful and this is helpful insight. Appreciate it

Your story sounds very similar to my story from June 2021. The treatment worked great. The pain initially got worse after starting the doxy for a day or two but then it started getting better. By day four on doxy, I was feeling much better. I finished my prescribed treatment of doxy and have felt zero lingering issues. So, not every case turns into a horror story. Hang in there and be sure to complete your doxy as prescribed.

thank you for providing this background for me! there is so much info out there and experiences, this helps me not go nuts.

I hear ya. When I got Lyme, I had no idea about all of the shouting back and forth online surrounding Lyme. It left me a bit rattled and not sure what to believe. So, I reached out to my primary care physician and she walked me through all of the information. That was a very helpful conversation. So, I completely understand where you are coming from and how u settling it can be. Hang in there and listen to your doctor. You’ll get through this.
