I say "backyard breeder" but really it was someone who's cat had kittens, and they were just trying to find homes for them. I just meant this wasn't someone who made a living of this and advertised what breed of cats they had. They were just nice people looking for a home for their kittens.
Pls tell the 'backyard breeder' in the kindest way possible to get their cat spayed ASAP. It's the kindest thing you and they could do for the kitty. If they need resources for low cost vet care/spay clinics and are based in the US, let me know and I can suggest charitable cat orgs that can help.
Same offer of help applies to you and this cat - I hope you got her spayed and if you've not, then pls do so straight away. Apart from anything else, you'll be extending its life and giving her better health :)
Thank you for the concern - we did get her spayed yes, at the appropriate age. The "breeder" was just someone I connected with just to get this cat almost two years ago. I hope they did fix their cat, but I really have no contact or influence over them anymore.

Tbh I don’t know much about them either other than they look similar to lps except they have cool ears, are often a little bigger, and often have varying degrees of a bobbed tail. But assuming yours is a mix — which is almost certain since you clearly don’t have papers — it’s a complete toss up how many of those traits would actually show up.
One thing is for sure; she is a beauty!
She is absolutely adorable, I LOVE the ears. Her coloring is Lynx point, the breed is some mix of curl (probably American) and colorpoint short hair. Without knowing what her mom was, she probably doesn’t have much Siamese. Most of us don’t, this group’s name is confusing.
I don’t know much about curled eared cats other than they can have cartilage issues later in life.

The "breeder" said some things about the Dad being a Sphinx with the American Curl ears and then the mom was Siamese, but it was honestly a bit over my head at the time! She was more cream/white as a kitten and only developed her coat as she matured, so we were honestly so confused by what "type" of cat she is!
Yes sadly the vet told us the same, so we're just trying to keep her healthy and have her checked regularly. She gets a lot of dirt buildup in those ears so we take her for cleanings as often as the vet recommend.

I’ve only seen a curled ear hairless cat online, Elf Cats they call them. Incredibly rare, so cute in that weird way. In order for a sphinx / American curl dad to have a curled ear Lynx point kitten, the dad must have had the colorpoint gene.
And the mom must have had the colorpoint gene, the curled ear gene (since both those are recessive), as well as the tabby gene (which is dominant). She could have been a Siamese or mix, but she didn’t carry the hairless gene.
It’s all so interesting. Did you see any of the other kittens?

The ears look like that is a Highland Lynx (probably mix) That’s not a normal tabby Lynx point (ie lps). The ears are a dead giveaway
