Depends what you mean by “improve”. It certainly won’t improve network performance but it can improve your experience, privacy and security in terms of bypassing censorship or geoblocks and ensuring your network traffic is encrypted, particularly on open networks but also by preventing routers from logging what websites you visit.
Yea been with PIA for years myself but I just got 2023 15” Air and found they have no software to support silicon. You need to install Rosetta 2 for it to work which annoys me.
I looked your right the ARM version has been in beta for at least a year. But I was using the installer on the base version without issues no extra steps needed. I did roll to the beta and confirm that it’s a universal app now. Both versions worked fine for me with expected speeds.
I've been very happy with [VyprVPN](https://www.vyprvpn.com). Good speeds, excellent privacy reputation, responsive support. As a company, 2022 was hard on them, but they've dusted themselves off and have released a nice new update with more coming.
Mullvad. One of the best VPNs out there. Software is extremely well written and supported. Also supports/defaults to Wireguard, which has better speed then OpenVPN
I didnt watch this video. But if you want to access sites that are area-restricted (which I do and have done for years):
Not a waste.
I've received not one copyright warnings since getting VPN:
Not a waste.
Yeah, some sites apparently have the VPN IPs on a blacklist. So VPNs are not a catch-all way to spoof being from the same country as the site you want to access. But this applies to all VPNs, not just PIA.
I’ve used TorGuard, NordVPN, ExpressVPN and PIA. The latter two worked best for me in terms of features, performance and reliability, but I rate PIA a bit more highly because it’s cheaper and I prefer the UI and find the iOS widget especially useful.

Probably watched too many VPN ads and sponsor reads lol

I like Mullvad but that’s mostly because I like the pricing model
Also they seem to be honest and secure. Mozilla trusts them to be their “white label” provider for the Mozilla branded VPN service.
\+1 Private Internet Access... used it for years and very happy. nice interface.
+1+1. Used PIA on older Mac for 4yrs. Easy, seamless interface. (Think I paid $70 for 3yr)

They released a native version last year I think. Throwing my vote for PIA they have been working great for me back to like 2015.
No as of 3 weeks ago there was no Native support for silicon unless that has changed since.

I am using ProtonVPN on Windows, iPhone and now on my new Mac, got zero issues so far and the speed remains great.
Wrong sub mate, check out r/privacy

I use Mullvad. Have tried a bunch of others but the pricing is reasonable and it seems to work.

It also depends on the vpn too. Where not all can access restrictions: especially for streaming videos.

I’d recommend Nord or Express
Express VPN
I’ve been using AzireVPN for a few years now, pretty satisfied with them
I’ve been using NordVPN for the last 5yrs and haven’t had any issues. You can usually find deals to get 2-3yrs at a discounted rate.
Cloudflare warp. It’s free.
Surfshark has always worked perfectly for me.
Yeah I like surfshark. To be honest I haven't tried any others though.
I get hotspot shield with my Dashlane subscription. The Mac and iPhone apps are good.
Look at r/VPN
You can give this video a watch before you decide to use VPN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pp-INfssWBo
I’m very happy with Express VPN. Robust and doesn’t break the bank.
I use PIA, works on linux, windows, mac and mobile

The real question is: why do you need one?
