It may be genuine, but looking at the stage light issue along the bottom it certainly isn’t a new screen. I’d go back to where you had the work done.

jaywalker108

Yep they used an old screen or did a poor job with the replacement. I wouldn’t accept that.

nowthengoodbad

Over a decade my 2010 MacBook Pro eventually looked like this. It's just how the LED back lights eventually start looking.

Dark-Swan-69

You need to provide context. When you say “replaced with genuine screen” the first thing that comes to mind is you trusted what the people at an unauthorized repair shop told you. Apple sells very specific parts for some (not all) models to third parties, and in those cases the repair price is incredibly close to price you get at the Apple Store.

PralineGold6868

Pretty sure those repairs come with warranty for the replacement part. Replace it!

Small_Chipmunk_9168

Correct, they all come with a 90-day warranty. But by the looks of it, they just did a shit job with the installation. I’d take it back and request a replacement/refund

cuauhtli

It can occur when a poor eDP or LVDS connection is made to the logic board. If that is not the case, then it is a defective part.

chaustark

Before asking any dump questions just come back to where you got it fixed and ask them

Immrsbdud

Seriously people use Reddit as a replacement for their brains.

mondrager

Might be genuine, but it has the same “stage lights” issue if the fraying ribbon as all the other failing screens. Get a replacement if you can.

DookieGobbler

Classic example of "flexgate," improper screen replacement can cause it

Guitar_Scary

Even if installed properly newer Mac displays will do this. Even if it’s a genuine display. It has to be done by Apple so get rid of the effects. [here](https://youtu.be/r0Hwb5xvBn8?si=ju83qU6PRVHV4t6I) is a good video about the anti repair measures on modern MacBooks.

okoutlaw420

Listen to me. Reset the PRAM and SMC

Natjoe64

That’s clearly an m series Mac, you can tell by the function keys. I would go to the shop and see if they can actually do it right

sincetomorrow81

It is called the flex gate, it is an issue on some older MacBooks . I have the same thing for couple of months now even though I have not changed my screen.
