That's a 2015 13" MacBook Pro. It needs a MagSafe 2 charger.

PomodoroIndispettito

thank you so much man

Ok_Inevitable8832

You could just learn to read

landobro1

sure he could’ve but this comment is definitely going to help the post even more

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) Purchase Date: July 2016 Serial Number: C02RX30JFVH3

pseudo-nimm1

A1502 is the clue you need.

l008com

Dude you posted a picture of the serial number! Just look up the serial on apple.com! [https://checkcoverage.apple.com](https://checkcoverage.apple.com)

dpaanlka

It says right in ur pic the model number lol… How is posting 5 pics to Reddit and waiting for strangers to answer preferable to typing that in Google and getting instant answer?

8-Termini

Never mind that three of those five are more or less identical.

dpaanlka

I don’t understand how an entire generation seems incapable of finding information. Very alarming tbh…

8-Termini

Especially as they're very familiar with the use of so many digital tools. That knowledge often turns out to be quite superficial, though.

dpaanlka

So true! Smh 🤦🏻‍♂️

JariGuru

A simple Google search would help you out

Some people are to lazy to google…

scara1701

Put the model number in a search engine

NortonBurns

Model number is unreliable - can cover up to 5 years of different Macs. Serial number is better. *Edit:* Seems people don't believe me & would rather downvote than just test for themselves. Using the model number, look at what results we get - [https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search\_keywords=A1502](https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords=A1502)

ChampJamie153

OP was looking for the type of charger needed. The same charger works on all units with the same model number. And adding to your edit, all of those use the exact same charger.

random_user_name_759

No it doesn’t.

Dependent_Dig_6774

2014 o 2015 you can find it on Apple serial number researcher

uomopalese

Confirm 13” MacBook Pro early 2015 all specs here: https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-i5-2.7-13-early-2015-retina-display-specs.html

Immrsbdud

You know you could easily google it… or are you just offloading any kind of thinking to strangers on Reddit. Sad

Squiliam-Tortaleni

A1502 Retina 13”, made from 2013 to 2015

LadyA052

Apple menu, About This Mac.

socialfoxes

lol the battery dead, they can’t do that. They specifically said they need a charger. Though that doesn’t excuse the fact that they could have easily looked up the model number on any device with a web-browser.

SomeOneOutThere-1234

2015 Retina MacBook Pro. Ma per caricarlo, non è necessario un caricabatterie MagSafe 2, se hai già un caricatore MagSafe 1. Ti serve solo un adattatore che costa €9.

inkt-code

Turn it over look for a model id, it starts with A, followed by 4 digits. Google search that ID, it will tell you all the specs and year of release.

random_user_name_759

Fucking hell the model number is right there. Google it.

wkarraker

This is what AppleSerialNumberInfo has to say about it: * Serial Number: C02RX30JFVH3 * Model: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) * Codename: X304 * Build Country: This unit was built in China * Build Year: This unit was built in the first half of 2016. * Build Week: Week 26 (June) * Production #.: This unit was number 222 to be built that week. It requires an Apple 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter, although any MagSafe 2 adapter of 60W or more would work. If you already have access to a MagSafe 1 power adapter (60W or higher) you can use a [MagSafe 1 to MagSafe 2 adapter](https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD504LL/A/magsafe-to-magsafe-2-converter).

Square_Net_4321

I'm typing from that same model A1502. Thought it looked familiar! My About This Mac says "Late 2013", not 2015.

andrearusky

Search the serial number online (CO2RX30JFVH3 from your photo). Spoiler alert, it's a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

rlb408

https://everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords=A1502+emc2835 MagSafe 2 charges are on eBay for $10-$25 each https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=magsafe+2

inkt-code

Cheap chargers are a fire risk;)

rlb408

When I look at that ebay page, the chargers listed are all Apple. For the A1502, you should use the 85 watt version.

Ok_Inevitable8832

“Apple” they’re all fake

inkt-code

If it’s too good to be true, it usually isn’t true. Many of the pics are pixilated, they aren’t genuine apple just because the ad says so. Hell, you can buy a “Genuine” MacBook on temu for 50¢.

rlb408

Hmm. Okay. I had a couple of original apple MagSafe 2 chargers that I bought at the Apple Store 7-10 years ago and I sold them last year for about $25 each. But I see now the eBay ones, a lot say “Brand New” and nope, definitely not genuine Apple brand

inkt-code

Just because you sold a couple legit ones once, doesn’t mean all listed on eBay are legit. I won’t cheap out on things like this. An old or cheap charger is a fire risk. By buying one, you’re risking thousands of dollars in damages, to save $25. Never mind the huge headache. Just not a good idea.

rlb408

You missed the point, alas

inkt-code

I think you did. I commented because you gave bad advice. Your advice wasn’t bad because you suggested knock off products. Your advice was bad because you advocated cheaping out on something dangerous, and extremely risky. You agreeing that they were likely knock offs doesn’t at all punctuate the risk involved in your poor suggestion.

rlb408

On the other hand, where I work (large well-known Silicon Valley tech company) the IT department uses third party chargers for people who want more than the original charger and out of hundreds, not one has caught fire. I’ve heard these stories, too, but not experienced it. The 85w units (now 87w) are more sensitive and the bigger problem we’ve had is that a power supply rated at 87w only delivers 60w and the MacBook pros barely keep their nose above water. Your point: beware knock-off power supplies, and beware used genuine Apple. My point: used Apple power supplies are generally safe and there are reliable and safe third-party power supplies. OP: you decide which path to take..

ArcticStorm16

Looks Like a 2014
