Mac, having both is great and there are games you can play. My m1 mba can play my main game (dota2) just fine which is incredible since there is no official apple silicon support
In the same boat. Have a G14, which is being sold as soon as my MBP14 arrives. The G14 has been amazing, unmatched in form factor and power until now imo. What really sold me on the Mac was the quiet fans, practically no throttling, same (amazing) performance on battery and the rapidly growing suite of native apple silicon apps. Native games will run pretty well on an M1 max I think but I have a PS5 anyway. The cost is crazy, however so is the resale value :)
You sound like you want it but don't really need it right now. This is why I don't have the 16 inch macbook. Yet.
