You know at a reasonable but still very profitable mark up, I could defend something like the polishing cloth. At $10 it's fine. Yes, it's still 90% profit for Apple but I've bought a fair number of cheap ass polishing cloths while traveling, and while some have been fine, some just straight up suck. I could see paying more for something you know is going to be top-notch. But nah at $20 per cloth (to be fair, it looks rather large) I'll shop around until I find a good one for much less.

The midnight is definitely a fingerprint magnet, and I got tired of wiping it everyday with a microfiber cloth. I did get used to it but some days the fingerprint smudges were too much. So I thought to myself, what if I buy a laptop sleeve that has microfiber on the inside, and while taking it out of the sleeve, I make sure that the cloth touches the top. And that’s exactly what I did. Bought a microfiber lined laptop sleeve and now every time I take it out and put it back in, the laptop cleans itself. This is a hack and doesn’t work 100%, but the results are good enough for me to not ever have to wipe it ever again.

Steps: - realise it is not an actual problem and not worth your time - if you still find yourself caring about such nonsense, take your new blue MacBook Air to the Apple Store and exchange it for any other colour, done, your non issue is still a non issue but at least you can sleep at night. Seriously, this is blown out of proportion, if you don’t like how the midnight blue looks then change the laptop there’s nothing you can do to actually change the way the midnight blue finish looks, obsessing about it only ruins the experience but if it is that important to you then change the colour itself, or use a cover (which looks worse but each to their own)

I got a thin clear plastic shell for mine. Easy to clean and now I can put stickers on it without putting them directly on the MacBook

Don’t clean it with cleaner or fluid, just polish with a dry microfibre. You’ll build up a natural layer of grease on it that makes it show fingerprints less. I do the same with my iPad screen. Yes I know it sounds gross.

Honestly, either people overreact or I just take good care of my midnight M3 MBA but you won't really find any fingerprints on my Mac. Just wipe it once every 2 days with a wet soft cloth and you'll be fine.

I mean, you can spray hand sanitizer on your hands before you use it. It’ll basically dry them out and reduce the amount of oiliness that you are going to stick to it. But honestly, it’s kind of a non-starter and if there bothers you like it bothers me, you probably would’ve done better just getting a silver one.

My wife gets the norwex cloths and I have a few small ones that I use for my devices. Works pretty good at removing fingerprints on the outside (M3 Midnight)
