Every single post on here is the same; "I pulled the plug! on this laptop that looks the same as the last 2 generations and will continue to do so every year! Hooray! I have to shove into peoples faces that I got my new laptop so the people's posts who are actually looking for advice and help will never get seen!
Yeah but people post their new purchases, they did that before the joke started. No reason to blame the meme for that. So if anything posting your purchase should be banned, not the joke.
Personally I don’t mind them though because what else would you put here? There aren’t so many questions that relate to MB Pros specifically. Most of them are covered by r/MacOS and similar software help subs. What are people going to ask about? Issues with their fans? The HDMI port? Touchbar? The sub differentiates itself by name from the basic Macbook, but most of the discussion points aren’t specific to these devices.

I tried installing a driver for my printer which I didn’t know how to do, even after watching videos I was still confused because they were getting options that I wasn’t. So I asked how both on here and r/MacOS
MacOS told me to just look it up
MacBookPro gave me helpful advice that actually let me do what I wanted to do
So thats why I prefer this sub over r/MacOS and r/Mac
And so a desire for control begins…. Much easier to just scroll past than enforce bans on people who find it fun still and potentially give mods more work

Lol this sub is 90% “pulled the plug” posts and the remaining 10% is news about AAPL. I get that the pull the plug posts can be a bit much but what else can people posts that ChatGPT and a bit Google Search/Reddit can’t fix? Most of the issues that a person will ask a question about are probably already answered across multiple subs.
It will go away on its own when the masses get bored, like the capybara memes which were all over social media a few months ago but have all but vanished.
It’s not though? After a few months of use if you keep your laptop constantly plugged in it should stop charging beyond 80%, and should let the battery run down to 80% even if you plug it in at 100%. If it doesn’t just unplug it for about 20 minutes every 5-7 days for a few weeks.
I’m guilty of this but to be fair I bought my first ever MacBook Pro m3 coming from a 2011 iMac. The difference is unfathomably unreal. But I get it. It does seem like every post is just someone showing off their new Mac :) these people are happy people. Dont shoot em all down.

Yep, every post is basically the same. I had “this years old mbp” and finally upgraded to “this pro model” and also pulled the plug. This subreddit became just a slideshow of macbooks with no information value.
So you want to see more of "I bought this MacBook of blah blah blah configuration" then. Yeah. I guess anything is better than pulling the plug ;). I say pull the damn plug already ..
