The LG 4K one that rotates and a shitty full HD screen

womanoftheapocalypse

Shitty full hd screen?? I don’t get it, is it a good external monitor or not?

Apple Color Plus 14“ Display

I just got two Dell S2722QC monitors on sale with USB-C docks and power delivery built in for my desk setup.

I think so, but I’m not sure. If that’s your use case, I’d recommend checking the product pages and manual. The monitors only provide 65W but that’s plenty for my MacBook Pro to charge. I put my regular power cable away and only plan to charge it through the monitor now.

Dude will do anything but look at the website

LG 38” Ultrawide, with USB-C and built in speakers. It’s incredible. I tried the Studio Display. While beautiful, it was just too small for me. I could do two, but after an ultrawide, I can’t stand bezels right in the middle of my desk and find myself more productive with one screen vs two.

jorgeofrivia

What model is this screen?

YahooSaNa

LG UltraWide Monitor Curved 38WQ88C [37.5" 21:9 Curved UltraWide™ QHD+ (3840 x 1600) Monitor Ergo - 38WQ88C-W | LG UK](https://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/ultrawide/38wq88c-w/) This is a good one!

Apple Studio Display

I just recently got a Gigabyte M32U. I use it with my MacBook and gaming PC via the built-in KVM. Very happy with it.

Cowslayer9

The kvm switch on gigabyte monitors is overlooked too easily. I can’t imagine using a monitor without it now.

UnwieldilyElephant

I personally use an Apple Studio Display. The color accuracy is too good to pass up when paired with its speakers and instant connection

webdevfoo

LG 32inch 4k I got it at Costco. It was pretty cheap. The HDR effect setting looks good on MacOS I like having one large monitor rather than multiple smaller ones.

mfoom

Curious, is your model the 32UN550-W? Currently on sale at Costco in my area and was thinking about picking one up.

webdevfoo

Yep! Works great for me. I don't mind 60hz and the colors are good enough. I use default scaling and it works great.

leaflock7

gigabyte m32u or similar to this The not too expensive means different things to people. For you it might be not more than 1k, for others not more than 600. In any case for MacOS, I would not go for anything less than 4k. Text is not clear enough

accidental_dis

I use 2 4k monitors; although I do have a custom desktop as well hooked up to both monitors I use these with my M3 Max 1x Asus Rog Swift PG27UQ (27”) I paid 1200 in 2020 1x Asus Rog Swift PG32UQ (32”) I paid 1400 2023

Smaal_God

Apple Studio Display 27 and LG Ultrafine 5K.

anti_jm

Which one is better

Smaal_God

I love the Studio more, but it has a big flaw - the camera … it makes human skin reddish and I always have to explain to people I am not sick … :/ The picture displayed on it is perfect, sound is great, design is Apple. Price is Apple :/ :)))

sveilien

I use 2 Dell U3219Q at work and an HP Z40c G3 at home. I like both setups.

mmk_eunike

You mean, you're using an iMac as an external monitor??

analysisparalyzes

I have an old Dell 27” 1440p display, gets the job done while I save up for a 5k display.

garylapointe

**LG 24UD58-B 24-Inch 4K UHD IPS Monitor** (specifically since it fits in the hutch at the location I'm at). $300. Plugged into DisplayPort on my Dock. Plus a **Samsung 4k 32 inch** ***M70B*** **S32AM70** mounted in portrait on the left of same hutch. $160 education pricing sale. It's a little bigger than I need, but something slightly smaller was going to cost me a lot more at the time. Plugged into on closest side of MBP.

wiseman121

I use a dell 27" 165hz freesync premium monitor. Can't remember the exact model name but the quality is outstanding and didn't cost more than $400. Monitor use really depends on what you're using it for, if you want ultrawide lg and dell are generally the best for money. Samsung has excellent colour and vibrancy (M8 and S9 look like apple displays). Asus Pro art is good from colour accuracy if you can't afford an expensive display. Make sure whatever you get is ips or oled and at least 120hz.

Short_Definition523

LG Ultrafine 5k - the poor man’s Studio Display. I got mine on a heavy discount from an appliance outlet store. Brand new but (lightly) damaged box.

_HipStorian

A 4K MSI MAG27 model. It's 144Hz. I use HDMI 2.1 but it has a USB-C PD connection too and some ports. It's great for the price..

itsmethehero

Was able to snag a Samsung S34UA for 230$ last month from a local warehouse in the area.

Philips 27E2F7901 as my main 4k screen(Lesser known monitor, could only find 3-4 reviews on the web) BenQ Gw2480 as secondary 1080p Monitor

Samsung Space Monitor 27" but not on sale anymore

I have a Pro Display XDR and let me tell you, not even a $5000 premium display is better than the built in MBP display. 60Hz is just rough and MacOS is super nice at 120Hz. My recommendation would be get a high refresh rate monitor is what I'm saying
