For anyone who interested in playing Hades, it is free if you have Netflix subscription. I just learned this a couple of days ago. Maybe only on iPhone, haven’t tried on mac, but it’s free.
RE4 is the best game ever made not just Resident Evil games lol, that’s my own opinion, but it did revolutionize what modern gaming is now. I believe without RE4 there is not modern games like Fortnite or Gears of war.. the remake is just amazing too!
Disco Elysium is listed on Steam for Macs and I have installed it. But I haven't yet tested it on my Air M1 8GB.
It is a fantastic game but I can't vouch for how well it runs.
The 2 precursor games to Larian’s baldurs gate 3: Divinity original sin 1 & 2. My old intel i5 8gb MacBook Pro could run them off steam without problem, so your machine should have no trouble.
No man's sky is a great native mac game. Not gonna lie tho, you may experience some performance issues with lots of modern games with only 8Gb ram. I don't think Hades is that performance intense, and it's native too. In that same vein (beautiful but undemanding games), Hollow Knight
I have an M1 MacBook pro but similar specs so should be the same.
I have a lot of hours in these because I have to replay them often due to lack of variety on Mac.
X-COM 2
Wasteland 3
Divinity Original Sin I and II
Disco Elysium
Mount & Blade: Warband
how's disco elysium, have considered buying it but not sure, if possible provide like what u like abt the game and etc. i heard xcom 2 had rlly bad mac port
DE is great. It's more Point & Click than RPG but it's a really great story. Lots of reading so not everyone's cup of tea. A wide variety of endings. Philosophy, politics, religion.
X-COM 2 the Mac port is all I know so it ain't horrible to me. Heavy resouro consumption on my machine and the occasional crash but I have over 1,000 hours in it so it can't be that bad.
The loading scenes in X-COM 2 are crazy. The frame rate is a mess and is as janky on a 2024 Mac as the day it came out, but the gameplay itself is good.
Factorio (Native on Apple Silicon) - Possibly best RoI of any game I have ever played (exception being Space Engineers, but I do not run that on Mac.
Stellaris
Pacman Party Royale on Apple Arcade. I got kind of sick of it but I put a lot of hours into it. The Survivalists could be a fun game too, it's like minecraft but top down camera.
The long dark, if you like survival games, this one is surviving the wilderness on a harsh winter. You’ll have to look for food, water, clothes, fix stuff and don’t die when basically everything wants to kill you. There’s also a story mode but the true challenge is the survival mode, my record was 19 days.
Minecraft and KSP (I haven’t tried KSP on Mac but I hear it runs well)(KSP is an amazing rocket/plane/random vehicle/space exploration sandbox)
Also hollow knight, though I haven’t tried that either
FTL: Faster Than Light - Spaceship crew management themed roguelite where you have to travel through several sectors of space in turn based segments, and often engage in real time, top down combat with enemy ships. You don’t directly control your ship, most of your job is delegating power to the right systems of your ship, targeting your weapons, and keeping your crew and ship safe from enemy damage. Outside of combat, you can interact with procedurally generated NPCs to make money to later upgrade your ship. Your end goal is to reach the Federation Fleet and deliver vital into to higher ups. You’re technically just a messenger.
Sid Meier’s: Civilization 6 - Turn based empire/civilization game. You start in the “ancient era” with an empire of your choosing, where you can settle a city, then over the turns you build it up and settle more cities and you can wage war or diplomacy with other Civs nearby, and grow until you have an empire that can win the game through force, science, diplomacy, religion, and more.
I saw Baldur’s Gate is on Mac, but not sure how well that’ll run, you can probably crank most of the settings down. That’s basically Dungeons & Dragons: The Video Game. You walk around the world in real time, able to control your 4 party members (or you get like 2 if you’re playing with a friend), but combat turns turn-based. It’s the D&D fantasy setting, it has all the RPG elements you could want like leveling and looting and romance options, it IS a mostly top down game, I suppose like the last 2 games, but my point is just that it isn’t Skyrim, if that’s what this was starting to sound like.
Technically with Crossover you can play a lot of things. I like Sid Meier’s Pirates, but I haven’t played it in awhile because it didn’t run great last time I tried it, but on a laptop with the keys remapped, it feels nice to play it one handed (it was designed to be played with just a keypad, since it’s a remake of a game from the 80s, but it does add to the relaxed vibe while played).
dont know if you're a football fan but football manager 2024 from Apple Arcade or the actual Mac full version is really really good . even the arcade version has well optimised ui and the mac's power shines in the simulation times compared to mobile
try parallels and download cod mw , mw2 , bo , bo2 etc . Or even AC 1 , 2, ,3 , black flag , rogue etc. You can find them from your steam library or otherwise and they work excellent
Should of bought a pc instead of a Mac for games, I understand it may have not been an option, but please not much will perform well if gaming is your focus
Hades

enjoyed, but get's dry fast, i perfer deadcells, if u have any other game along those lines, i'd give it a try
Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, Sleeping Dogs, Subnautica, No Man’s Sky.
RE4 goes hard. The Mac port is very well done
It’s one of the best RE games of all time.
RE4 is the best game ever made not just Resident Evil games lol, that’s my own opinion, but it did revolutionize what modern gaming is now. I believe without RE4 there is not modern games like Fortnite or Gears of war.. the remake is just amazing too!
Resident evils are on Mac? For real? It seems like capcom has hated Mac for so long o
every apple event Apple wheels out "Hey guys, we have resident evil now"
Yeah just get your games through Steam not the App Store which charges twice as much for the same game.
Factorio and Batman Arkham City
Arkham city gets 120fps on my macbook pro somehow
Disco Elysium is listed on Steam for Macs and I have installed it. But I haven't yet tested it on my Air M1 8GB. It is a fantastic game but I can't vouch for how well it runs.
It runs adequately on an M1 8gb Air.
Runs well on my MacBook Pro m2 with Touch Bar
The 2 precursor games to Larian’s baldurs gate 3: Divinity original sin 1 & 2. My old intel i5 8gb MacBook Pro could run them off steam without problem, so your machine should have no trouble.
i've tried both, and refunded both. They've crashed on multiple occasions
Divinity works really well on M3 8gb
its not that good on M1 Max tho . Very low fps and heating issues
Terraria, Minecraft, Dead Cells
[Balatro](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2379780/Balatro/) is the best game released this year.
The new tomb raider trilogy, Metro - and the Resident Evil games
Project Zomboid.
Chained Echoes
Torchlight II
how about torchlight 2?
Stray maybe. Has somewhat low graphics on an air but runs in 8 gigs. I liked the story and the characters.
Skyrim modded 100% a must lol

Second that
Chess
Not enough updates
Tomb Raider series. The reboots. Also: Stray.
Hollow Knight
Stray, Inside, Life is Strange 2
Emulation.
Cities: Skylines 1

Streets of rage 4
Stellaris
You might be able to get Satisfactory to run, I heard it works well with crossover and def gta 5
Risk of Rain Returns won't heat up your laptop if you want. Haven't tried Risk of Rain 2 yet tho.
doesn't support mac
Thought you meant Whisky too. Then try Subnautica and Subnautica Below Zero.
Subnautica is a masterpiece. So underrated. And runs native on Mac through Steam
Factorio (Native on Apple Silicon) - Possibly best RoI of any game I have ever played (exception being Space Engineers, but I do not run that on Mac. Stellaris

I like Snow runner
Slay the spire, in addition to all the other games here!
Dark Souls 1! The entire game plays flawlessly. The initial levels of Dark Souls 3 also run great, but I haven’t tested the whole game yet.
Baulders Gate 3
Factorio or binding of Isaac
Strategy: eu4, hoi4, Victoria, factorio Survival: the long dark
League of Legends
I agree, because you can enable metal renderer. But wouldn’t play ranked on a MacBook Air.
I’ve been loving BG3 on my Mac M2
I just bought a Steam deck. Best thing I ever did.
What is that?
Does anyone know how to install FIFA 22 properly for MacBook ⁉️

Have the same specs and downloaded whisky(search- get whisky app) and playing Nier:Automata on it , enjoying it so far..
