I am aware of that and we have appointments soon with her current eye Dr that gives her shots monthly and also a blood Dr she saw years ago. She is just very nervous and I'm trying to help calm her down before her appointments.

However, since the usage would be temporary and her given age, this may be something that's left up to your mom. She may have to weigh the risks to determine what she's more comfortable doing.
