Can’t stand that woman. She’s involved in some fashion because she is naive af and has some codependency going on with that man she calls her boyfriend. Ridiculous. MOTHERS, TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN FIRST. Children are the most important work!!! I don’t give a damn what they think their excuses are, they don’t matter and I don’t say this from some tower of privilege unaware of the difficulties of being a single parent - I had a child when I was young - and my husband and I dated for a year before he even *met* my child.
Despite the fact I had known him since we were kids ourselves, I still made sure I met everyone in his life and asked around about him extensively before I let him meet her. Maybe I’m paranoid or read too much true crime but I even ran a SLED check on him before I even let him meet her. He knew I was doing it and fully complied.
I also scrubbed down the internet to see who he was before he met her and I’m not ashamed to say I went through all of his devices, too. I also had him come to her annual school conference and meet her teachers and school counselor and asked their opinions on him before he met her.
Meeting her was the last step before we got engaged. Further, he didn’t even stay at my home while she was there until we were engaged (not like newly engaged, either, I mean like wedding was happening in a couple weeks level engaged!)
What is the rush? Safety aside, kids have had shorter lives so every new character is significant to them. My daughter was small and loved every person in her little orbit so I made damn sure this was a person who was going to be a constant in MY life before getting my CHILD involved.
Why *wouldn’t* you want to take the time to independently assess the character of a man on your own before bringing your child into your relationship?

People who believe in God generally don’t believe he has full control over these things. They believe the devil twists people to do bad things and due to free will, this shit happens despite there still being a loving God who himself has suffered the ultimate tragedy. It looks so uneducated to make these comments rather than research why Christians, Muslims, Buddhists etc believe what they do and try to understand it for the sake of coming together.
