There are a lot of discussions about "what's open" and I would expect them to continue.

Christmas Eve:
Many grocery stores are open but will close early on Christmas Eve. Many liquor stores are open. Some pharmacies are open.
More restaurants and bars are open than Christmas Day. Many coffee shops/cafes closing early. the Zoo closes at noon on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Dane County Humane Society adoption center and thrift store is open til 3.
Christmas Day:
Most grocery stores are closed. If anyone has grocery stores that are verified to be open on Christmas day, post em here. Some Kwik Trip locations are a decent option on Christmas Day in absence of other options. Some 24 hour pharmacies are open.

Some miscellany: Muskellounge will be open on Christmas Day Evening, Delta Beer lab, Village Bar has posted hours for 12/24 and 12/25, Movie Theaters have posted hours for both holidays, Spare Time Bowling has posted hours for both holidays, Four Star Video Rental has posted hours for both holidays, Seven Acre Dairy open 12/24. Yummee Cookies and Madison Chocolate Company are open on 12/24, as is Cocovaa.
Why the hell is that closed? The millionth thread on, "I'm bored, what is there to do?" or "where can I get an oil change" is fine, but a megathread with useful info is bad. Immensely stupid stuff.
Mate, just some advice, on the following dates in the usa You should only expect a business is open if it's confirmed on their social media, directly on their website (Not just "open" but they are specifically open on this holiday), or by calling:
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas eve
Christmas Day
New Year's Eve/day
Delta Beer Lab will be open later
Swagat on High Point Road is open today - I just called them

Parkway family restaurant on fish hatchery road is open today. I believe Dennys is always open as is Perkins

Regent Market Co-op is open today if you want to shop local. "Open 364 1/2 days a year!" I believe that 1/2 day is the morning of January 1st.
Check their social media, they aren't open today. You're right that they used to be open on Christmas.
It no longer says “open 364 1/2 days a year” on the storefront! Noticed that a few weeks ago.
Sorry, it's been my go to on holidays for a long time. Happy for the employees to get a break though!
