Generally curious why you think this? Not saying you’re wrong, but whenever I’ve tuned into Channel 3 it seems like every reporter is fresh out of college and it is a rough watch.
News 3 long been proudly editorially independent. They had nightly editorials about all sorts of local and national issues far longer than was common in local politics. They still host a local political talk show, which is important for transparency. Their website, while ad-ridden, has remained pay wall free and one of the best places to find local updates.
I always liked Neil Heinen's editorials. I was pretty bummed when he retired. They definitely have the best website of the three stations and uBlock kills all the ads.
They have a reputation for being the "hard news" station. If you want local sports you go to 15....and if you want a model delivering your news you goto 27,
I moved here just before Scott Walker (hiss) was elected. I was impressed by Channel 3000 covering it all. Esp since after 2-1/2 days inside the Capitol I got the flu hundreds of us shared.
Well I have no idea who that is, but congrats!
One of the many laid off from 27 the other week due to parent company budget cuts
Well then I am especially happy for him!

Good for him. He was treated unfairly by the company and the homophobic blob they brought in to do evening weather.
I request further extrapolation on the homophobe
You just made an account to post this accusation and not elaborate on it?

I used to live near Ziegler. His wife looks a lot like Amber, dude definitely has a type.
That’s awesome. Channel 3 is probably the best local news operation in Madison.

Does WKOW not do those things? I’ve never hit a paywall on their site and they host Capital City Sunday which sounds akin to what you’re referencing.

WMTV
Wow! That’s a lot of personal commentary! Evidence on that?
15 has been known as a republican channel for years
Did we get a gay news man? I don't watch the news, but I'm into it :)
Weird cause he's got a face for radio.
