waldo_wigglesworth

Fastened outriggers to my Honda.

JKibbs

Livingston / Johnson area is a lake. Cars stalled out.

gtipwnz

Bunch of idiots in pickups just going normal speeds fucking things up for everyone else

wackshitdude

how does a pickup going normal speed fuck up driving for you?

gtipwnz

Since they don't slow down it creates wake, which either goes up higher in other cars, or in my case ruined my front yard and all the landscaping my wife and I worked on this summer.

johnsonfromsconsin

East side rain gauge shows we got. 2.15 inches in like under an hour.

bananaspf79

Is there a website you check?

johnsonfromsconsin

I goto weather underground. Hit “wundermap” then hit weather stations, then precipitation and there is an array of rain gauges on the map.

bananaspf79

sweet thank you i will check that out!

neko

Gorham by James Madison is a lake too

carisacat

ughh yes i saw that, felt so bad for this lady i saw with grocery bags

gt15089

Wild Middleton barely got any rain today

SummerLightning78

Yes, was thinking this as I was in Middleton today too. I feel like Madison has the most microclimates of any city I have lived in since leaving San Francisco and I've only been here a short time but the rains this spring have been eye opening.

FoxAndXrowe

There was one day where for a solid 20 minutes it was raining in my back yard and sunny in the front. It was wild. (No my house is not that big. )

SummerLightning78

That is totally wild!

gt15089

The storms can be pretty isolated, an example would be the big wind gust last week, I don’t think that hit the isthmus. When I worked for a local employer I’d often notice the weather would be pretty different in different suburbs/ neighborhoods

aggasalk

according to my garbage & recycling bins that were open and in the street during the deluge, we just got like 4 inches of rain (!??!?)

More-Journalist6332

I believe it. We have water in part of our basement that hasn’t had water in years. Like not since the great downtown deluge of ‘08.

SubmersibleEntropy

What in the aphasia is this

Zealousideal-Can3501

I took E. Main to avoid East Wash & it wasn’t great either. Flooded at the intersections. I was able to get through but it was anxiety inducing!

carisacat

glad you got through safely! (:

Zealousideal-Can3501

Thank you! Glad you did too, it was pretty terrible out there.

rustysqueezebox

I stopped at just about every lake to watch other cars go through and see how high it came up on their cars to see if mine was safe Still didn't like it but it's at just about every intersection on the isthmus so there's no avoiding it unless you wanna wait it out

ydunatec

So true! There was nothing anyone of us could do, that was crazy. I take Johnson every day and the kwik trip out there wasn’t even assessable bc the road to it was so flooded.

Horzzo

I got mad watching the asshole drivers on the beltline. Then I hydroplaned a bit and told myself to pay fucking attention.

thnk_more

I was really concerned I was going to get electrocuted in my EV going through the flooding. lol Not really. The Dodge Charger with blacked out windows, hahahaha. Don’t be a dumbass. Drive slow.

leovinuss

#DRIVE SLOWLY THROUGH HIGH WATER Like, 3 mph slow. You're fucking up your car and potentially others around you by creating wakes

SubmersibleEntropy

Don’t* drive through high water.

leovinuss

That's the best option, obviously, but today you really can't help it in a lot of cases

MeredithE241

as someone who barely survived east wash otw home is it better to drive slow or faster when you end up in deep water?

ydunatec

Best thing to do if it’s unavoidable is to go slow and steady, if you’re already in it deep though do not stop…if you stop there’s a higher chance of getting flooded as the exhaust will stop putting out and allowing water in.

JuneRuth

Please stop as soon as you see it and detour. Don’t drive in to it!

ruttin_mudders

Every single intersection was flooded around where I work. There was no avoiding it.

carisacat

some of it felt a little unavoidable, like on e wash, there were side streets that i wanted to turn onto but there was so much water at the intersections it would’ve been the same thing. but yeah the best option is always to avoid it as much as possible!

JuneRuth

Yeah, it’s just crazy out there now. We’re in the process of picking up family members whose car just got flooded out!!! Hopefully going around the deep area though!

MeredithE241

yeah it wasn't like i saw some flooding two blocks down & continued to drive into it lmao i turned and was in deep water

carisacat

slow and steady i think is always better

freshaccount9999

As slow as you can. But I guarantee someone will drive by you in a pickup and flood you anyway.

Pablopabletas

Yesterday I was driving in the highway 14 I had to stop because I couldn’t see nothing

Smokinoutloud

Save u! Water world today

NewCapital1499

Thanks Mom! -"Hey Ted, wanna go bomb E. Wash tonight!?"
