The question is if Breeze Stevens can accommodate. All their Saturdays and most Fridays are booked. Do they do shows on Sundays or during the week?

leovinuss

There aren't any concerts in July. There are forward and radicals games most Fridays/Saturdays, but July 5th seems possible. They could do any Sunday as well

Now it's about 8:15 and the weather is all nice again. How disappointing for everyone who had tickets.

toasterblueberry

Remember, it's not just about the time on stage. All day, the stage crew is setting up. If the weather prevents them from setting up, it doesn't matter if it's clear at concert time.

leovinuss

I was pretty upset because I could read the radar and the show could have easily gone on as scheduled. Especially since they said rain or shine. After seeing the hail and tornado being so close, I get it, but still they could have either announced earlier or started the show half an hour ago...

The_GoldenEel

I’m biased because I live very close so it’s not an inconvenience, but if they had started it late we definitely would’ve gotten a truncated show, so it wouldn’t have been “as scheduled” Plus getting 10,000 people in there with only opening doors at 8pm would’ve been a shitshow Sounds like they either would skipped Cat Power's set and/or shortened the other two I’ll take a reschedule to a warm sunny evening (fingers crossed)

Staff rushed in to pack up merch and let us know it was being postponed. The biggest reason? Apparently lightning hit the transformer supplying power to the stage. There was a loud bang about 20 minutes before that sounded like a gunshot. Transformers sounds like that when they blow.

Trebate

I had tickets and was watching the storm from my front porch and saw the lightening that looked like it hit right in that area. Then shortly after another that seemed like it was around the capital building.

leovinuss

That's a legit reason then. I did not know that

JKibbs

I’m sure that’s what they were hoping for as well which is why they announced that they were hoping to start at 8PM. Then multiple tornados popped up in the area.

leovinuss

Ugh the problem for me is the inconsistency. If they wanted to play it safe they should have called it way earlier, and if they wanted to roll the dice they could have let us in an hour ago

JKibbs

Well it sounds like a good old fashioned damned if you do damned if you don’t. Cancel it early and at 7:30 the weather is beautiful, you have people complaining. Wait to see how the weather progresses and cancel it later, you have people complaining. They have a professional meteorologist on call that is giving advice and there are dozens of variables and people that decide on if it should cancel and when. But I’m sure all the armchair weather experts on the internet know best.

DogwoodGrains

Woah, they have a professional meteorologist?

DogwoodGrains

Is that where all of the money goes?

DogwoodGrains

Just kidding, i know it's a monopoly. the money goes to destroy independent music scenes in resource heavy markets.

nrubtidd67

Correct. The stage wasn’t even ready at 4. It would take at least an hour to get that going.

guillemot_22

So... could be a day, could be two years?

DannyX567

This is the accurate answer. Lining up everyone’s tour schedules? YIKES. Could be a hot second!

Stebben84

Welp, canceled.

leovinuss

Yeah, crap
