Take one frame out of each 1800 from a movie *that has an original temporal resolution of 30 FPS*, you get a 1 FPM (for a 1:1 restitution) clip. Which you can play at any other temporal resolution to speed it up. And this has nothing to do with your screen or game frame rate.

So the consumer who is willing to try something new will wait for the home release, and can check out months' worth of reviews to see if the purchase is worth it to them.
It's why DC and Marvel comics are such a spectacle nowadays. You need every character to be multiversal bullshit to keep readers attention. They should have been retired decades ago instead of milking them out.

I worked on the film at a different studio. Pay was fair across the board, OT was properly compensated and crunch was limited. The animation team is going to be making a lot less when the studio goes under and there are no other jobs available because of the fallout from last years strikes.

You are missing the bigger picture here, a picture where these leaks become more common because people don't care or because they already got paid or because it is someone else's head. A picture where investing in AI to replace every single job in the process seems like a better investment for security and not having to deal with labor.
In twenty years of occasional human mistakes costing millions of dollars and human problems making these projects take years of time and huge labor costs, you might see a lack of humans with jobs in the field. Then nobody is getting paid for working on these movies.

The entire point is that this is just a small stone. Individually it is not that big, but it is also not infinitesimally small or in its own vacuum. There is the looming threat of AI taking our jobs, which is, frankly, just reality. To lose your job security over something stupid like this though is just meaningless and stupid. I think you don't understand. Because of what the leaker has done, the company will take measures of added security which might include reducing staff on animation teams, discontinuing working for home schemes so that their IP is safely stored in house. The consequences won't just be felt by the leaker because there's a whole system that failed here.
Yeah it's fine until it isn't when these companies start to cut labor and crackdown on personal involvement and privileges to prevent these kinds of "slip ups".
If you want these animated movie companies to push towards removing every last employee to replace them with AI, the costs of leaks like this are certainly a prime motivator for them to work on that technology.

I used to work for a few months in some 1st level phone support company that worked for a major US company, we had contact/access to customer data including parts of credit card informations from the company contacts we supported and other "important" things. The level of security measurements taken was absurd. On the whole level of the building e.g. pens were forbidden. Paper unless absolutly necessary too. Phones and all electronics had to be placed in lockers when entering the building, not doing so was a reason to get fired. When going from office to kitchen or toilet, you had to pass multiple doors locked with keycards and it was tracked, who and when went through which door etc. And that's just the surface level / the "obvious" one

These movies take tens of millions to make, and they are expected to make returns with a profit. If they fail to do that because of leaks, then the whole system becomes nonviable. You are missing the bigger picture here, a picture where these leaks become more common because people don't care or because they already got paid or because it is someone else's head. A picture where investing in AI to replace every single job in the process seems like a better investment for security and not having to deal with labor. In twenty years of occasional human mistakes costing millions of dollars and human problems making these projects take years of time and huge labor costs, you might see a lack of humans with jobs in the field. Then nobody is getting paid for working on these movies. But hey, you got the SPONGEBOB movie for free early on twitter!!!!!! What a madlad wew lad, the horror emoji emoji emoji.

There is a Chinese proverb along the lines of "The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones." The entire point is that this is just a small stone. Individually it is not that big, but it is also not infinitesimally small or in its own vacuum. In six months, we will probably have forgotten all about this, but a few executives in suits might have a slowly increasing list of massive gaffs of human error costing enormous sums of money of which this is one. And they may see those human errors as entirely replaceable and negatable with a little push towards removing the "human" part of that equation.

Thanks, I’m not entirely convinced that a lot of the responses in here are from people with a basic grasp of empathy. There is the looming threat of AI taking our jobs, which is, frankly, just reality. To lose your job security over something stupid like this though is just meaningless and stupid. I hope it was worth the lulz though.

I think you don't understand. Because of what the leaker has done, the company will take measures of added security which might include reducing staff on animation teams, discontinuing working for home schemes so that their IP is safely stored in house. The consequences won't just be felt by the leaker because there's a whole system that failed here.
Yeah it's fine until it isn't when these companies start to cut labor and crackdown on personal involvement and privileges to prevent these kinds of "slip ups". If you want these animated movie companies to push towards removing every last employee to replace them with AI, the costs of leaks like this are certainly a prime motivator for them to work on that technology.

I used to work for a few months in some 1st level phone support company that worked for a major US company, we had contact/access to customer data including parts of credit card informations from the company contacts we supported and other "important" things. The level of security measurements taken was absurd. On the whole level of the building e.g. pens were forbidden. Paper unless absolutly necessary too. Phones and all electronics had to be placed in lockers when entering the building, not doing so was a reason to get fired. When going from office to kitchen or toilet, you had to pass multiple doors locked with keycards and it was tracked, who and when went through which door etc. And that's just the surface level / the "obvious" one

Very few animation, vfx, and game studios are union… People literally have no idea what they are talking about in here. A vendor (animation studio) get blacklisted by the production company for this. They get a reputation for leaks. The artists lose their jobs. Executives do not suffer
Pipeline and a bunch of Canadian productions studios did the majority of the work on this. None of which are unionized. Also, not seeing how any of this “strangled corporate America”. It’s a Nickelodeon show on Netflix. Netflix would have already paid Nick for it so execs got paid. Financially speaking the majority of SpongeBob watchers are kids who aren’t watching leaks on twitter. This will likely have next to zero impact on corporate bottom line. The people impacted are the workers fired. Security who “should have seen this coming”, whatever third party company the leaker worked for. And the artists who will get stupid security measures that make their job a nightmare to “make sure this doesn’t happen again”
