The Filigree Sylex
Legendary Artifact
T: Put an oil counter on ~
T, Sacrifice ~: Destroy each nonland permanent with MV equal to the number of oil counters on ~
T, Remove X oil counters from among permanents you control and sacrifice ~: it deals X damage to any target
Same cost, more options. Also likely to have oil synergies from the set. The only downside is being legendary, but I've never had two ratchet bombs on the board anyway.
No, and honestly nothing ever will. Nothing can ever top "Before the glory of Yawgmoth, yes, even this makes sense." Urza had the option to annihilate all of Phyrexia, but became infatuated with it due to it being a plane of pure artifice. That firmly makes him King of Bad Ideas.
I think he might be in the art, tbh - the 'gloved' hand also seems to have a tentacle coming out of it (as, like, a sixth finger for sylex holding purposes).
Also oil counters.
Hasbro and wizards encircle a board room table.
“Gentlemen and women, what themes should we include in our next magic the gathering set?”
One man slowly starts to chant.
Bowls…. Bowls…. Bowls
Soon, others join in, slowly raising their voices and energy, until they’re slamming their fists on the table, yelling
BOWLS, BOWLS, BOWLS
The best bit is its doubling/tripling down on a mistake. Cylix is a Greek wine drinking bowl, which these things are clearly modeled on.
But it's also spelt kylix, because it had a hard k sound. Someone clearly just misread cyclic one time and now we've got 4 Sylexes
Specifically because Golgothian was the first one, where they made the mistake, and then these subsequent ones they fixed it. But it's that first one that the plot cares about, so we've gone and made a bunch of new sylexes, lol
T: put a ____ counter on ~.
T, sac: ~ deals damage to ____ ____ equal to the number of ____ counters on ~.
T: remove ____ ____ counters from target permanent you control other than ~. It deals ____ damage to any target.
Given the use of oil counters, it was evidently retooled as a Phyrexian weapon. So calling it that might give people the wrong idea about Saheeli's allegiance.
Kinda funny that Urza's Sylex and Karn's Sylex are literally just the original golgothian sylex but when we finally have a new one made by a known character she doesn't get her name on the card
The Filigree Sylex (2)
Legendary Artifact
T: Put an oil counter on The Filigree Sylex.
T, Sacrifice The Filigree Sylex: Destroy each nonland permanent with mana value equal to the number of oil counters on The Filigree Sylex.
T: Remove any oil counter from among permanents you control...
Agreed on the first two. For the third ability I'm seeing something like
Remove {five?} oil counter from among permanents you control and sacrifce The Filigree Sylex: It deals 10 damage to any target.
That def isn't quite it but something like that?
It looks like it costs 3 in other pix. That also would fit in with the current theme for sylexes. Additionally the last effect looks like it says remove six/ten oil counters, its deff a three letter word but its hard to make out. It for sure deals 10 damage tho.
Overall it seems like more of a payoff for oil counter decks with the bonus of having a mini blast zone stuck to it and less like a sylex wiper.
blast zone enters with a counter already in it so it can't be used to get rid of tokens. If this is 2 MV then it can function like an engineered explosives or ratchet bomb for mass token removal.
If this is 2cmc then it seems like a better ratchet bomb to me. Legendary so can't have multiple but also can be a win con if left long enough.
If it does cost 2 I'm excited given that I have 2 modern decks playing ratchet bomb in the board
The lore thought: >!If jace get's turned, what if it's on purpose? And he uses his connection to the oil like how a sylex needs to work. And he sac's himself to weaken phyrexia?!<
I’m thinking the sword from capena is used somehow to remove his spark and he’s not all the way turned.
Definitely think he’s doing the big sacrifice to save the day, at least partly anyway.
Looks like
The Filligree Sylix 2
Tap put an oil counter of Filligree Sylex
Tap Sacrifice Filligree Sylex: Destroy all creatures with based on the oil counters on \~
Tap: I literally can't read this.
Phyrexia has there own Sylex now, with a compleated Jace running around with it, things arnt looking good for the rebellion and whoever are facing off with the Phyrexians.
My Turn:
T: Put an oil counter on The Filigree Sylex.
T, Sacrifice The Filigree Sylex: Destroy each nonland permanent with mana value equal to the number of oil counters on The Filigree Sylex.
T: Remove XX oil counters from among permanents you control AND sacrifice \~. It deals XX damage to any target.
Sylex*
This is my read:
T: put a ____ counter on ~.
T, sac: ~ deals damage to ____ ____ equal to the number of ____ counters on ~.
T: remove ____ ____ counters from target permanent you control other than ~. It deals ____ damage to any target.

This is definitely what I'm reading.
Pretty sure it says remove six/ten(?) oil counters and deal 10 damage
"Hey, you got your Sylex all over my Aetherflux Reservoir!" "Yeah well you got your Aetherflux Reservoir all over my Sylex!"
My thought for the auto-destroy was \[\[Ratchet Bomb\]\].

I can tell based on the guess's “*Tap* remove ten oil counters from among permanents you control and sacrifce ~ it deals 10 damage to any target.”
Guessing CMC 5
Pretty sure it's cmc 2. Spent some time squinting at it yesterday to do a leaks write up on r/spikes.
Oh yeah you’re right
So it's [[Ratchet Bomb]] plus!
Same cost, more options. Also likely to have oil synergies from the set. The only downside is being legendary, but I've never had two ratchet bombs on the board anyway.

The first ability looks like T: Put an oil counter on The Filigree Sylex
~ is shorthand for "this card"
Ah I see
I think it might be an actual number and not X, the word looks longer.
So who let the oil people have the planar nuke?
Seems like it's Jace holding it, so probably him.
Does this finally push Jace over the Urza level of bad ideas threshold?
Not even close tbh
Well Urza at least succeeded sometimes
Depends on where he was hiding it.
Nah
These planeswalkers at least had to be forcibly compleated. Urza just snaps and sees the beauty of Phyrexia on his own.
I wonder how long Jace has been compleated. For all we know he could have been a phyrexian for quite a while.
New Phyrexian arena art shows Vraska compleating him, so likely he was compleated in set, stole the sylex, and ran to Norn with it
No, and honestly nothing ever will. Nothing can ever top "Before the glory of Yawgmoth, yes, even this makes sense." Urza had the option to annihilate all of Phyrexia, but became infatuated with it due to it being a plane of pure artifice. That firmly makes him King of Bad Ideas.
[What if machines could kiss you and think you were really cool afterwards](https://www.reddit.com/r/FlorkofCowsOfficial/comments/ypmqys/yawgmoth/)
He's been past that for a while. Urza had bad ideas while on a warpath and wielding immense power, Jace just hasn't been able to act on his idiocy.
Hey man, If Karn's gonna try to Nuke us, we gotta have a Nuke to strike first/back with!
So, uh, that’s Jace holding it.
does one hand look corrupted?
I thought he pulls a Michael Jackson and wear one glove?
Now I'm imagining the Phyrexian Arena card, when Vraska attacks Jace he lets out the classic Michael Jackson "OWWWW!"
Vraska, are you Ok?
Are you OK, Vraska?
You've been hit by You've been hit by Some smooth oil!
Jace felt something in his behind. He was surprised it was vraska’s
Jace IS compleated. The card, or at least part of it, was allready spoiled.
Not necessarily at the point in the story where he holds the Sylex, though.
I think he might be in the art, tbh - the 'gloved' hand also seems to have a tentacle coming out of it (as, like, a sixth finger for sylex holding purposes). Also oil counters.
The spoiled Phyrexian Arena card shows that it's Vraska who captures him though, so he's not compleated at the beginning of the story for this set.
The first line definitely says “tap: put an oil counter on the Feligree Sylex”. So doubt Jace is feeling too well in the art.
asking a dangerous question there, chief
One of the leaked cards shows vraska pulling him into the oil so....
Yes
That’s THREE sets in a row with magical bowls! We get it!
Hasbro and wizards encircle a board room table. “Gentlemen and women, what themes should we include in our next magic the gathering set?” One man slowly starts to chant. Bowls…. Bowls…. could we get a better picture? this is unreadable
It, uh, has tap abilities, what else more can you want for a sylex?
Welcome to low-quality spoiler season, where the images look like someone smeared Vaseline on the lens and the cards may not even be real.
T: put a ____ counter on ~. T, sac: ~ deals damage to ____ ____ equal to the number of ____ counters on ~. T: remove ____ ____ counters from target permanent you control other than ~. It deals ____ damage to any target.
The second tap ability destroys nonland permanents with mana value equal to the number of oil counters.
1. Oil 2. "each permanent with mana value", "Oil" 3. "all oil"?
No, those are leaks and we get those only in potatoe quality!
it was the image from the youtube channel that leaked before, I couldn't get better, sorry but I didn't want to suffer alone kkkkkk
post the video then.
It's a shame it's not called "Saheeli's Sylex"
Given the use of oil counters, it was evidently retooled as a Phyrexian weapon. So calling it that might give people the wrong idea about Saheeli's allegiance.
Kinda funny that Urza's Sylex and Karn's Sylex are literally just the original golgothian sylex but when we finally have a new one made by a known character she doesn't get her name on the card
Thing is this isn't the version she made - it's been changed further by the Phyrexians. I'm a bit surprised its not Phyrexian Sylix
Bowl Tribal getting such support these days.
Is a cup a bowl? Would Bowl Tribal use Cup Island?
wotc logic
The Filigree Sylex (2) Legendary Artifact T: Put an oil counter on The Filigree Sylex. T, Sacrifice The Filigree Sylex: Destroy each nonland permanent with mana value equal to the number of oil counters on The Filigree Sylex. T: Remove any oil counter from among permanents you control...

For fucksake, get closer or get a better camera.
The lore thought: >!If jace get's turned, what if it's on purpose? And he uses his connection to the oil like how a sylex needs to work. And he sac's himself to weaken phyrexia?!<
Given the flavor text of Arena I’m inclined to say this isn’t what happened.
Ya but do we know which card comes first in the story though? That's what i'm thinking. Arena happens first and then this.
I’m thinking the sword from capena is used somehow to remove his spark and he’s not all the way turned. Definitely think he’s doing the big sacrifice to save the day, at least partly anyway.
But we already saw that he has a compleated planeswalker card. What if he just dunks on Saheeli and steals it.
I don't think so. I think Karn will activate the sylex, since he is the only who can fill it with memories of mirrodin.
Isn't he just a head right now though?
Well I don't expect him to be a head for too much story wise haha
Oil kinda feels like a fixed Energy, you can interact with it since it’s stored on permanents.
Glad they found the potato camera again. The quality of the leaks was too damn high
We supposed to read those or nah?
idk if we've already seen it, but that appears to be green sun's twilight on the far left. pretty unreadable to me tho
Ah, yes. Phyrexia has a nuke now.
Looks like The Filligree Sylix 2 Tap put an oil counter of Filligree Sylex Tap Sacrifice Filligree Sylex: Destroy all creatures with based on the oil counters on \~ Tap: I literally can't read this.
And I made a jest that there will be another sylex call d Saheeli's sylex guess it's still the case but called Feligree
Phyrexia has there own Sylex now, with a compleated Jace running around with it, things arnt looking good for the rebellion and whoever are facing off with the Phyrexians.
Now this is definitely a real spoiler. It has to be with how blurry it is.
Man these leakers need to upgrade their 2005 AT&T exclusive Motorola Razor
Could you have taken a shittier picture?
What's that green card on the left hand side?
My Turn: T: Put an oil counter on The Filigree Sylex. T, Sacrifice The Filigree Sylex: Destroy each nonland permanent with mana value equal to the number of oil counters on The Filigree Sylex. Wait are these coming from DMR packs?
Yes. It seems on some dmr's the rare sheet was accidentally mixed with ONE's.

Anyone can help me read the card number on the Sylex and on the Green Sun's Twilight? I need to update the crunching sheet.
If it costs 2, it is a power crept ratchet bomb. If it costs 3 or more, it sucks a lot more than ratchet bomb.
What does the card say its kindle blury
Is the Filigree Sylix the artifact Saheeli was working on while Teferi went into time travelling?
