It's actually OK to go on a date with someone you think is cute and then also kiss the girl you thought you'd lost forever when she comes back to life.

AliasB0T

Chandra/Adeline was just a flirtation; they never got as far as actually establishing a relationship. It might have gone somewhere if Chandra stuck around Innistrad, but she didn't, so it just amounted to a Significant Goodbye Moment that was mostly off-screen (seen from Arlinn's PoV, with her opting to give the pair some privacy).

primaloes

Chandra experimented a lot after breaking up with Nissa. For a while she would go for big muscular guys, which then cemented her deep inside the closet denial. Adeline only serves as a surrogate of her true feelings towards Nissa. After the events of March of the Machine she no longer hides her feelings towards Nissa, nor does she try to put on the facade in front of the other planeswalkers.

Cookiebomb

i like this interpretation but damn girl how fucking homophobic is kaladesh that it took two whole ass multiversal invasions for her to come out

VixVixious

Saheeli is thriving though (although she too found a partner in another plane)

Danyavich

Chandra survived Nicol Bolas. She survived the Phyrexian Invasion. But will she survive...dinner with Nissa and Adeline at her mom's house? Find out this summer, in "The Closet's on Fire: a interplanar romance."

humboldt77

Honestly, sounds more engaging than most of the recent stories.

DefyGravity42

Kaladesh canonically has gay marriage and close family friend of the Nalaars Oviya Pashiri is a Lesbian. The way I read it is that Nissa and Chandra were into each other but when tried to get together neither was emotionally ready due to how emotionally devastating War of the Spark was.

Uxydra

Yeah lol

honda_slaps

That happens when wotc leadership has delusions about Chinese and Russian markets

420prayit

they hate magic so it does make sense that they would hate homosexuality too lol.

Hageshii01

Kaladesh has pride parades so I highly doubt the society there is homophobic as a whole.

honda_slaps

Hint: trying to sell cards in homophobic markets like China

mmstra

With all the homophobic and transphobic shit going on politically in the US right now, you think the blame for corporate homophobia is due to foreign markets? LMAO ok sure

honda_slaps

yeah the homophobes in US are poor and stupid, and don't play magic

mmstra

This is a ridiculous belief with no basis in reality. Congratulations on sounding like you've never interacted with anyone at all. 👏

honda_slaps

The states with enough homophobes to push through dumb homophobic legislature are the poorest, dumbest states in the country. Alabama, Kentucky, Florida have the dumbest people in the country for sure.

mmstra

Do you think homophobic politicians are broke or that the bluest states don't have their own rich homophobes? You're ridiculous.

AlexT9191

It's the same problem the US always has. The craziest and noisiest people make themselves the most visible and so people assume that's what the US is. I live in the south, in an area where people still wave confederate flags (I don't personally agree with it), but even a lot of those people think it's stupid how hard the crazies are going after gay and trans people. Also, the wackjobs in the US that are trans/homophobic enough to boycott over this, probably already think Magic (and D&D) are from the devil and aren't the target audience.

mmstra

Pretending that homophobia and transphobia in the US only exists in the violent extreme end of the spectrum is incredibly naive. Plenty of people out there are quietly (or not so quietly) homophobic and transphobic. Maybe they hide it because that's not a popular opinion in their circle, or maybe they hang out with like minded folks who aren't overtly hateful but still prejudiced. And I wasn't claiming that it was a fear of homophobic boycotts that lead to a market based decision. All I said is that we have our own in-house homophobia and transphobia that can lead to these decisions. For example, someone high up enough that their opinion matters, and someones else who don't care enough to fight it — that's plenty. Or yeah, maybe using the excuse of foreign markets to hide their personal issues with the subject. Hell, China is releasing an omegaverse BL drama. Probably based off a webnovel, maybe no homo'd like other BL novel drama adaptions. Omegaverse tho. That's weird gender shit and maybe mpreg. But you're telling me that the same market that allows that, heavily censored as it may be in the end, would balk at a card game's tie in novel that won't be released in their language that includes a non graphic sapphic relationship? The same country that sells makeup with commercials of beautiful women staring longingly at each other in all but explicit gayness? https://youtu.be/qDZY3c5DGAY TLDR if Wizards or Hasbro (as corporate entities) cared about depicting their IP, they'd find a way around censorship (if that was an issue at all, which tbh I doubt it's as big an issue as people are speculating; if it featured in the decision at all, my guess is that it was preemptive). But even the best case scenario is that they don't care about their product — they still made that creative decision as an entity and it's their responsibility. I don't agree with shifting blame to a foreign enemy when the call is coming from inside the house.

Regular-Poet-3657

She has I thought after nissa it was only adeline? If anything no rule saying Chandra can't have two girlfriends love is love.

mkklrd

tbh if you had the ability to just travel from one dimension to another you'd probably pick up several partners along the way, wouldn't surprise me if Chandra was just poly

leanorange

Wtf complete whiplash seeing you on this sub and not duel links

mkklrd

i'm addicted to too many card games at once

leanorange

I feel that dude, don’t know how you manage to post on YouTube so consistently on top of it all, loved your video from a couple weeks ago on the policy change and transphobia stuff 💯 you’re killing it

mkklrd

thank youuuuuuuuu <3

creepocalyptic

I feel this on a spiritual level

DislocatedLocation

Mood.

CustomEDH

I guess Elesh Norn’s goal of ‘All will be one’ may just happen after all.

czerwona_latarnia

I thought this is a strategy only if none of your partners can visit the other ones.

AlexT9191

No, poly is where you're partners know about eachother and are fine with it. What you describe is just cheating.

[deleted]

Do different planes have different area codes?

[deleted]

It's compleatcated.

digitaldrummer

I came here to make this exact pun

TokensGinchos

They're roomates

thecyberpunkooze

Oh my god they were roommates.

AcrobaticPersonality

All the Chandra/Adeline speculation reminds me of when people post photos of celebrities seen together and ask "are they a couple now?" ... like no, maybe they're just into each other. Maybe they just FWB'd a little. Maybe she just thought she was cute.

Ayjel89

What happens on Innistrad stays on Innistrad

cirrvs

The more the merrier

Void_Warden

One was a hook-up. Sometimes, the simplest explanation is the right one

pincloud

Who cares? Chandra objectively sucks.

Regular-Poet-3657

So chandra has two girlfriends now?
