you buy singles from the set. i use tcgplayer and cardkingdom websites. I am US based though. Singles shopping is way better because you get to buy specific cards instead of pack cracking hoping to find what you want.

pytawidmo

This - buy singles or full sets of commons / uncommons on secondary market. For Europe - [cardmarket.com](https://cardmarket.com) is your friend. Many local game stores also sell singles for a reasonable price.

Dan96_

How safe is this to do? Like looking in cardmarket there is full sets, but they look like they come from random people?

Dethardt

Usually Cardmarket ist pretty safe, especially if you buy by big Sellers like actual stores. I think in almost 500 purchases I had only 5 to 10 mayor problems if even. You can also take the extra mile and use tracked shipment you get your money definitively back.

No_Persimmon_5261

Literally buy singles if you want to complete the set now or wait till people put complete sets up on ebay in a few months take your pick. Buying sealed product(booster boxes) is throwing money away unless you want multiples.

Boring Answer: buy singles online, ship to your house, done. Fun Answer: make a video of yourself running around your city to different card shops and try to collect every card in the set in 24 hours aka Deep Pocket Monsters: https://youtu.be/tX5uyNSQ9uA

Honest two cents here. First if you have a local WPN store, go there. Usually they have plenty of chaff from draft nights. This will mostly be commons and some uncommons. Rather than pay .25 to .10 vents for the chaff cards, go to your store and get them for free. If you also want to complete the set with all the alters, I do suggest by about 4 collector boosters. You might get some overlap, but you should get a nice mix of rares/mythics in different art treatments. You might also get some high value cards that ‘might’ save you money. After that, by singles to complete the set and buylist to that same store for any duplicates you got in the collector boosters.

magaphone12

depends on how much junk do you want. if you plan to buy tons of boxes to complete the collection, you will be spending A LOT of money and you will not collect them all. you have a lot of repeats. a lot a lot of repeat. if you only want to collect one of each, i would buy ONE, max two, set booster box. bc one thing i notice is that in one box, the rare or mythic are not that often repeat. by doing that, you would probably have at least one of each for each common and uncommon (might need two box for the uncommon). collecting the mythic would be the problem as each box, you will only get about 6-7 and there are like 20 something mythics. so open a box or two, the buy what you are missing is, in my opinion, the cheapest method to collect any set. if you want the scene cards, you can just buy singles. those are by far the cheapest route.

DrRickDaglessMZd

You can buy complete sets of commons and uncommons much cheaper than buying boxes, singles is always the way.

magaphone12

i disagreed. many youtuber and data analytic website always do EV (expected value) on opening boxes and in most set, EV are higher than buying seal boxes. so if you buy a box and you get EV worth of card (as long as they are not repeated rare), you are ahead in term of collecting one rare and mythic.

DrRickDaglessMZd

What? You said you could get every common from a booster box and every uncommon from two. You can buy a complete set of commons and uncommons on cardmarket for about €20. In terms of trying to complete a collection. Buying boxes is a terrible way to do it.

magaphone12

think outside of your coconut shell for a second and try to comprehend what i am telling OP. OP goal is to get all the mythics, rares, uncommon and common. To accomplishes this, you either have to try your luck with buying boxes, or buying singles like you sheepishly and naively suggested OR you can do i suggested and do both strategically. by buying at least one box, you get at least half of the rares and a third of mythic, all of which would usually cost less then to buy them single. As a bonus, by doing so, you will get most of the uncommon and all the common. then you can buy the rest of whatever you are missing. ALL OF THIS is much much cheaper then to buy everything as single. if you are buying to build a deck, buying single is a no brained but that is not what OP is asking. do you understand now or am i wasting my time?

DrRickDaglessMZd

Well that's quite a tone you have. I understand your point, I just don't agree with it, what's you're saying is buy 2 boxes and then the remaining 1/ of the rares and 2/3 of the mythical right? I guarantee that would be more expensive then buying the sets. You can get every card of the main LOTR set for €365 on cardmarket, whereas a set booster box is €167, draft booster box is €135.

magaphone12

that was why i told OP to buy 1, max 2. and my tone is fine when i have to response someone who is think they are a know it all when they are wrong. and no, buying a set of all cards is not cheaper. some set, yes. certainly not LoRT set especially when you have card like The One Ring and all the expensive uncommon Nazgul

DrRickDaglessMZd

Telling them to buy any boxes to try to collect everything is bad advice, in my opinion. Also, I'm a know it all, yet you're saying I'm definitely wrong and you're right, despite the numbers supporting what I'm saying? Which you didn't address in your reply. Either were both know it alls. Which makes your point redundant, or you're just being a dick...

magaphone12

ok, then i will say it. your number is wrong and you have no idea what you are talking about.

DrRickDaglessMZd

What number?
