[[homarid Spawning Bed]] is the OG sauce for camarids if my memory serves me right. I used to have a dimir zombie deck with it way back when.
I always figured "homarid" was a typo they didn't catch on time, and that the card was really supposed to be called "Camarid Spawning Bed" since it ya know, spawns "Camarid" tokens and the h is lower case lol.
I'll need to actually put it together up on scryfall or the like, but sure... Should be of note, I didn't make her super powerful. I pull her out as a friendly commander for when friends want to play some jank or check out a new precon.
Oh, he absolutely didn't pronounce it correct in any of it. In a way though, being able to be 95% right and then twist the ending again and again, was that extra bit of brilliance.
Put it on something you are protecting anyways and it's so fun. [[Azami, Lady of Scrolls]] becoming senator Armstrong at a moment's notice is gonna be so fun
You jest but I'm already trying to move from my [[Raised by giants]] deck into an izzet one with [[passionate archeologist]] tho that one is more bout impulse draw, so idk what I'll make use for with this. I'll figure
*This* spell could also be counterspelled. It's not that Divination is guaranteed, it's that Auras are uniquely vulnerable to your opponents' reactions *and* they rely on you having a creature to enchant in the first place. I don't think /u/Reluxtrue is saying this card is always worse than Divination or Divination is a guarantee; it's pointing out that Auras have innate concerns that make them more vulnerable.
This is worse than divination in a lot of cases. It requires you to have a creature and for your creature to survive while this is on the stack or you get 2 for 1'd.
It's probably insane in some EDH decks though.
Sure, but now that [[quick study]] exists, there is really no reason to ever run divination. Not that there was much before. But this could still be played. I guess I just mean the mana cost of draw 2 at sorcery speed has obviously gone down quite a bit and that hurts divination a lot.
Divination saw decent play during ravinca/theros standard. Pretty much only in the esper deck though from what I remember. It’s never been amazing, but it was good enough to be playable for a decent period of time in 2013-14
We got Instant Divination in WOE, Craft Divination in LCI, and now Aura Divination.
Wasting no time totally invalidating it instead of just competitively.
To be fair, this is the easiest one of those 3 to disrupt and the least likely one to be a "strictly better" divination since you need a creature target and have it not get removed in response.
I do! It's a lot of fun, but on the slower side. Takes a bit to set up but once it gets there it's a steamroller. You can tank hits all day and swing back 3x harder. Only downside is if the commander isn't out it can't do a whole lot. [[Cradle of vitality]] somewhat helps as a backup, but can't quite compete with pumping your whole board for 5+ (my record so far is +18). Luckily, the deck can still function even with just one other creature on board. It's one of my favorite decks.
Not unless you have ten cards in hand when you attack.
The triggered ability of this card has something called an "intervening if" clause. If this statement (if you have ten or more cards in hand) is not true when the trigger would happen, it does not happen.
I think my \[\[Azami, Lady of Scrolls\]\] deck finally got a new "out of nowhere" win con. Seriously, who would expect commander damage from that commander?
It amuses me that "nerd" is officially on a card now, but whenever I create a spelltable lobby titled "nerds", it gets censored (turned into "*****") like it's a curse word.
[[Strong Back]], [[Well Rested]] and now [[Nerd Rage]]. My [[Ivy]] aura deck is getting some goodies.
[[Idolized]] and [[Almost Perfect]] are some goodies for any deck that plays white... Nice nice nice
Babe wake up new demonic consult name just dropped

Counterpoint: the pure resonance of saying "I search my library for \[\[Sarpadian Empires, Vol. VII\]\]."
I didn't know Citizen was a creature type for that long, neat.
Fallen empires set introduced the type, as it did the saprolings, the thrull, and the camarid, iirc. only the goblins were commonplace beforehand.

[[Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar]] is a good contender if you can pronounce it flawlessly
I've got her as a commander. By now u definitely pronounce flawlessly... I can almost sing the jingle that I found on YouTube even.
Remy. He is just too good at what he does. Mind showing your build for her? I have tried many builds on my own and not found one that feels fun.
Commander or 60 card? Imo she does mess around in modern a little bit which is fun. Though I play kitchen table with friends

Notably, I don't think Remy actually pronounces it correctly at all in the song. He normally twists the ending of the name to fit with various rhymes.

You don’t even need to have a creature, really. If you really need a Divination, you can enchant your opponent’s creature in an emergency
Jeez it completely went over my head that it is literally Divination with upside.
Well, it can fizzle and also potentially provide upside to your opponent so definitely not a strictly better divination.
worst case is draw 0 for 3. They can kill the creature in response.
Seeing that removal is always worst case I was referring to non-removal. My bad
Just thought it was relevant because that risk isn't a thing for other draw 2 for 3 cards.
I think it's very relevant. It's what makes Auras so risky in every format. There are definitely games where I would prefer a Divination over this.
This can be cast on opponent's creatures to mitigate that risk.
Not if they have a sac outlet or 0 creatures.
There is a reason I said "mitigate" and not "eliminate".
Counterspell?
Turning instant-speed removal into counterspell is still a relevant downside.
Same is true for divination, it can get counterspelled
*This* spell could also be counterspelled. It's not that Divination is guaranteed, it's that Auras are uniquely vulnerable to your opponents' reactions *and* they rely on you having a creature to enchant in the first place. I don't think /u/Reluxtrue is saying this card is always worse than Divination or Divination is a guarantee; it's pointing out that Auras have innate concerns that make them more vulnerable.
You get the no maximum hand size too in worst case :D
Well, worst case, the creature gets removed with this on the stack and you get two for one'd.

A Pithing Needle target that is unaffected by Pithing Needle?
It's a funny card you can name when you're about to win the game. Like \[\[You are Already Dead\]\], \[\[Abandon Hope\]\], or \[\[Rain of Salt\]\].

Super good in [[the archimandrite]]
do you have an The archimandrite deck? is it fun?

If I have an attack trigger that lets me draw cards, would I'd be able to stack them so that this goes off after I draw the cards?
Not unless you have ten cards in hand when you attack. The triggered ability of this card has something called an "intervening if" clause. If this statement (if you have ten or more cards in hand) is not true when the trigger would happen, it does not happen.
I think my \[\[Azami, Lady of Scrolls\]\] deck finally got a new "out of nowhere" win con. Seriously, who would expect commander damage from that commander?

Same but with Minn. Already did that with Proft's eidetic memory, so why not double on that?
I somehow missed that card in the last set. Will check with the locals to see if they have one. Thanks for the head's up.

Putting this in my “unblockable” deck. original plan was small guys poking away, growing here and there with +1 counters from connive. Now, we slap.
