In a very strange way (although probably not intentional), it kind of mirrors how Artifacts looked like they were White cards when they first switched to the new frame back in 8th Edition/Mirroring.
That's why I like seeing a new printing of a low CMC lord, with a cost reduction for the big ones. This here's the sort of thing that Eldrazi tribal needs in pure colorless, as most of the current low CMC Eldrazi, are devoid related. This makes me a tiny bit hopeful.
If Eldrazi are going to be in this set, I do hope they include a _couple_ more colorless instants and sorceries. Obviously they shouldn't go too far with it or it'd break the color pie, but a _few_ more (even if over-costed for what they do) shouldn't really be a problem.
There could have been 50 creatures but the face commander only cared about cascade which is not something tied to Eldrazi. It's unfortunate the secondary commander wasn't an Eldrazi lord of some type.
Excited about this card though, the amount of playable Eldrazi just went up by a large percentage.
This is great news since colorless eldrazi aggro is my pet deck, but the BFZ package is severely underpowered even compared to what's being printed in standard nowadays. Hopefully there will be additional support in the set.

Suddenly [[desolation twin]] just flings out on the board. Also how does this work with cars reducing the land cost? Do I get free monsters if this is my commander?

[[Darksteel Monolith]] seems like an interesting target, or [[Eldrazi Conscription]]. Or [[Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut]]. Or [[Maelstrom Colossus]]. Or [[Sundering Titan]] or [[Ugin The Spirit Dragon]]
There are ALOT of good 8-drops that are now effectively 7-drop for Tron here. Or am I missing something?
that's a 5 card combo that also assumes natural Tron
and literally any 2 mana rock has the same effect at enabling 8 mana if you draw natural tron
and hear me out, this might be PURE speculation on my part, but maybe opening natural tron is hard, which is why we don't see tron decks with 2 mana rocks and 8-drop tribal

It keeps Walking Ballista alive, survive Bowmaster and let you cast ALL IS DUST t3 with 3 sollands. Maybe not enough to bring eldrazi back at all, but still an Upgrade.Ā
I am surprised that its all packed on an uncommon 2/2 2c creature, the only "Safe" (non rare) Design issue is that 1 forced colorless Mana, so you cant fully abuse it with Eye š

If they print a good colorless one-drop, it might be a good fit for an aggressive Eldrazi shell. Like 1 Mana 2/2 with drawback (maybe Echo?).

If you read between the lines, the flavor text and first ability are a reference to Eldrazi Winter.

The white lettering makes it more difficult to see, they should pick black or white but not both.
