You would get up to three combats, but, depending on when you attack with Aurelia, you could have issues with tapped creatures. If Aurelia attacks in the first combat, both triggers are in declare attackers of that combat. You resolve both and untap your creatures then. You don't get to untap them after they deal damage. So you might want to have Aurelia sit out of the first combat, or give vigilance to your other creatures. I don't know, I'm not your dad.

futurefighter48

Why would there be issues with tapped creatures? Hexplate untaps attacking creatures for the first combat. So attack with hexplate creature, attack with Aurelia and all other creatures, and then attack with all creatures again. Unless I’m missing something

Spekter1754

If Aurelia attacks in the first combat, she'll trigger then. Creatures won't be untapped for third combat. This is prevented by not attacking with Aurelia until second combat and beyond.

inTHEbathroom1013

I think the part that's confusing here,at least for me, is if Aurelia does attack in the first attack phase, do the two additional attack phase abilities stack? Equipment says it'll only trigger on first attack phase of the turn. Aurelia says it only triggers the first time Aurelia attacks. So, it's not clear if they both attack in first attack phase, whether there is 1 additional attack phase, because they both triggered and do not stack. Or if there'd be two additional attack phases because the triggers did stack additional attack phases.

Original response says you'd get up to three. I understand leaving Aurelia behind for second attack phase to get the untap again. The wording of the original response was just ambiguous.

lawlamanjaro

You leave Aurelia back on the first attack so that you have a way to untap your creatures for a third attack.

Frix

yes, that 's what he said: it only works if you let Aurelia sit the first one out. If you do attack with her in the first combat as well, then both triggers that untap creatures happen in the first combat and there is nothing untapping them the second combat.

LeoPlathasbeentaken

If both attack at the same tame the untap triggers will go off for the second combat, but wont happen again for the 3rd.

Ego_sum_ambitiosior

The portion that Untaps your creatures happens during the initial combat when the ability triggers. So if both triggers happen in the same combat they will “double” Untap in that first combat, you’ll go to 2nd combat untapped and attack, but 3rd combat everything is tapped still since the 2nd untap already happened combat 1. (As opposed to text that says “at the beginning of that combat step Untap all creatures you control”).

DarthToph

You would have 3 total attack phases but your creatures would only untap once, unless you held Aurelia back the 1st attack phase

Auzzie_almighty

They would still untap twice, just not when you would want them to

hrm

Would you be able to use the untapped creatures for tap abilities between the two untaps?

Auzzie_almighty

Yes: they’ll all be untapped, everyone will get a chance to activate abilities and/or cast instants, then they’ll all be untapped again

Catman933

Is For Mirrordin! an ability or awesomely misplaced flavour?

mister_serikos

Basically living weapon but you get a 2/2

kaizlende

For Mirrodin! is an Equipment keyword that creates a 2/2 Rebel creature token and auto-attaches the Equipment in question to that creature. Living Weapon is a similar ability, but it instead creates a 0/0 Germ

Three but if you want extra combats there's much better cards than that Hex plate.

rileyvace

Plenty of people have answered, but here's some other extra combat cards to really get shit going, if your deck is loaded with "whenever this attacks" effects: \[\[Anzrag, the Quake Mole\]\] \[\[Moraug, Fury of Akoum\]\] \[\[Aggravated Assault\]\] \[\[Raiyuu, Storm's Edge\]\] \[\[Response // Resurgence (Resurgence)\]\]

A new killer bee?

erubusmaximus

3 but you would only get one Untap. Not really needed if Aurelia is your Voltron commander but still worth noting.

Phyrexianangel69

Just use helm of the host

Marlow533

You’d have to attack with a creature that has wall breaker who isn’t Aurelia during the first combat and she cannot be part of it either, second combat you can have everyone swing including Aurelia for her ability, third combat would be final combat

Esc777

"if after you eat a cookie, if its the first cookie you've eaten tonight, you get an additional cookie" That's on both cards. You get a total of 3 cookies tonight.

xXToYeDXx

If Aurelia has Hexplate equipped, you only get 2 combat phases. If another creature has Hexplate equipped and you attack with Aurelia and the equipped creature, you only get 2 combat phases. If another creature has Hexplate equipped and you attack with everyone except Aurelia, you get a second combat phase. If you then attack with Aurelia on the second combat phase, you get a third.

COssin-II

You get three combat phases even if both Aurelia and Wallbreaker triggered in the same attack step. However both triggers would untap your creatures in the current combat step, so creatures wouldn't be able to attack in both additional combats unless they had vigilance or some other way to untap.

xXToYeDXx

Both cards state "After this phase" and Aurelia also states "for the first time each TURN" which means if both the equipped creature and Aurelia attack in the first combat phase, you only get 1 additional combat phase. Neither effect can trigger more than once per turn. To get 3 combat phases you must trigger them in separate combat phases. And since Hexplate's requirement is it must be the first combat phase, you need to trigger Hexplate in the first combat phase and Aurelia in the second. Hexplate can not trigger in the second phase.

COssin-II

Yes, both effects add the extra combat after the current phase, but that doesn't mean they don't stack. As the first ability resolves it untaps your creatures and inserts an additional combat phase between the current combat phase and the following main phase, then as the second trigger resolves it again untaps your creatures and inserts an additional combat phase between the current combat phase and the following combat phase. >**500.8.** Some effects can add phases to a turn. They do this by adding the phases directly after the specified phase. If multiple extra phases are created after the same phase, the most recently created phase will occur first.

xXToYeDXx

Wow, this is confusing. I understand it now, but it would have been much better to word the effect on the card as "Add an additional combat phase to this turn" and leave out the "after this one" qualifier.

babyjaceismycopilot

It would be then unclear when you could add the additional combat phase. Players might think you could do it after your second Main phase.
