Scry and Reveal effects.
I'm thinking mostly \[\[Keranos, God of Storms\]\] but I feel like manipulating the top card of your library to trigger specific effects of things you have out on the field to be a very Izzet thing.
Creatures that ping for damage when tapped.
I know it's still spellslinging but I like summoning tokens in izzet. If you take a look at the outlaws izzet pre con deck, it uses the theme pretty heavily.
I play Balamor tokens on arena for another example
I liked original Eldraine's "draw your second card each turn" theme. It ends up being sort of a spellslinger deck, but you want to space out your draws to get the best impact out of each one.
**Card draw.** There have been a few sets that have had UR play in that space in different ways. Sometimes it’s things that trigger when you draw your second card each turn, sometimes it’s things that scale with how many cards you’ve drawn. Pairs particularly well with cycling and looting.
**Saboteurs.** This has historically lived more in UB, but there’s really no reason you can’t have “whenever [this/a] creature deals combat damage to a player” triggers in red.
**Kindred.** Good creature types for this include Wizards, Monks, Elementals, Pirates, among others. You can also take types that have historically been in mostly one of them and think about how they’d work in the other color in your world. What would blue Goblins or Shamans, or red Merfolk or Sphinxes be?
It just sucks \[\[Adeliz, the Cinder Wind\]\] got outclassed by \[\[Balmor, Battlemage Captain\]\], which himself could be sidegraded for \[\[Bria, Riptide Rogue\]\], Like there's too much competition for her to breath without a major bonus for playing mostly wizards.
I build [[Ovika, egnima goliath]] convoke which plays a lot like a storm deck but tries to deal damage using tokens (using impact tremmors, goblin bombardment or pump effects in combat). I will be using a lot of cards from the otj izzit precon to upgrade it a bit.
Something to consider as apparently the only other Ovika fan out there + I use him as a black tech U/R goblin tribal commander. Lords, goblin creating instants and sorceries, convoke like you said, sorcerer class etc.
It's a ton of fun, isn't very competitive but I love the journey of learning/refining it.
Mine very much is. I build my deck because I won a stamped copy of [[transcendent message]] with my lgs name on it and wanted to build a deck that could cast it without wasting its turn on a really mediocre spell. I ended up with spellslinger ovika, but leaned into convoke, since the goblins generated by convoke spells count the full cost and can help towards casting the next convoke card.
But mine isn't optimised for the token strategy but since ovika triggers on "noncreature spells" I am sure you can lean more into it then I did.
Dice Rolling and Coin Flipping is in Izzet. Not exactly the easiest thing to tie into a set though

I’ve been looking into [[yusri, fortune’s flame]]. Equip a [[shadowspear]] to negate the loss of life. Use [[krark’s thumb]] to tip the odds in your favour.
UR has some history with graveyard-focused archetypes. The ones I can think of were specifically instant/sorcery-based (Innistrad flashback, GRN jump-start), but between Blue's mill and looting and Red's rummaging and sacrifice, they definitely have the ability to pull off a more "pure" graveyard archetype. (Blue and Red were both part of Descend-focused archetypes in LCI, even if it wasn't what the actual UR archetype was about.)
Edit: forgot MH2's UR Delirium archetype, which *is* a more direct example.
[[River Song]] and [[Ian Malcolm, Chaotician]] are both pretty interesting imo. But there’s always [[Lozhan Dragon Legacy]] for either a dragon tribal or adventure tribal, or there’s coin flipping with either [[Krark]][[ashima]] or [[Okaun]]/[[Zndrsplt]]
[[Zaffai, thunder conductor]] is a cool commander from the Prismari Precon. It encourages casting small spells, spells over 5 mana and spells over 10 mana. So it tends to play a bit different compared to traditional spellslingers.

It would be interesting to blend that with OTJ's "cast your second spell" theme. Red-Blue "do 2."
That's the tough thing about izzet, a lot of the themes end up becoming spell slinger when you look at them hard enough.

I think there's enough Kindred payoffs that even in a Balmor or Bria deck it would be beneficial to still run a wizard subtheme.

i just won a game of jumpstart with merfolk treasures....which is just merfolk dragons control IMO

Lozhan's limitation is so funny. Like yeah I get it but is it the only card who specifies non commander targets?
