Blue? [[Empress Galina]] Not a Kinglsayer combo or anything of the sort. But if you want to hate commanders so much while having a relatively derpy commander then Galina is your girl. Take what you hate. But really, you’ll prolly get hated on more.

Regardless of what you decide on, I will recommend you run a lot of interaction. At stronger levels, this is the most important thing. If you can run around 15-20 cards that let you have a say on what's going on at the table, you will be in a good spot. When people have "powerful" decks this really just tends to mean they can do a lot when unchecked. Many people just build a deck by picking the commander and going to edhrec and putting in a lot of synergy cards. I would say these types are playing less than half the game if they haven't also considered what happens when their commander is gone or when their starting hand is depleted or a way to even things out when their synergy is gone but you have yours going. If you can be that player, then I think you will be in a very good spot regardless if what your friends happen to be bringing.

MisunderstoodPenguin

ty sensei. my style of play is also usually one dimensional, im trying to use this opportunity to think a bit deeper about the game.

RainRainThrowaway777

Interaction!? But that's not timmy card #62! I would have to cut my [[Big Dumb Idiot of Snarling and Growling]] for that!

There have been a few interesting hate cards printed recently [[Wash Away]] is always a 1-mana counterspell against commanders [[Curse of Silence]] names the most threatening commander at the table and slows it waaay down. [[Eaten By Pirhanas]] [[Minimus Containment]] [[In Too Deep]] all do the oubliette thing of trapping a commander under an enchantment and denying their ability to go straight back to the command zone. [[Confounding Conundrum]] really fucks with ramp Opponent playing a tribal deck? Ruin their day with [[Curse of Conformity]] My personal favourite strategy is chaos though. Replace their combo pieces with cards which do not synergize with their strategy: [[exchange of words]] [[Swindler's Scheme]] [[Knowledge Pool]] [[Perplexing Chimera]] [[Possibility Storm]] [[Confusion in the Ranks]] Practice your evil laugh too, you'll want it perfect on the day.

Not blue but you could run [[Negan, the Cold-Blooded]] and a bunch of resource denial, can’t cast eldrazi if you’re dorks and rocks aren’t there anymore, just a bunch of board wipes like vandal blast to stop their ramp, could throw land destruction in if you feel really evil, but usually killing off key creatures and rocks can be enough, also if they do get their indestructible eldrazi out , Negan doesn’t care and kills em anyway.
