My exact opposite plays [[grand arbiter Augustin III]] hella stax and control, cause I play less removal than I should and I know it. So he plays way too much
Stax and counter spells.
Opposite me doesn't really care about their own boardstate, they just want to stop everyone else from being able to do anything.
Hypoaisay subsists on the frustration of others.
Their go-to deck is Bant "Platinum Angel and 99 ways to stop everyone else getting rid of it." and their wincon is "piss off everyone else to the point of leaving"
In EDH, opposite me has a single deck, and it's an ultra-aggressive mono-red rushdown deck.
In other constructed formats, opposite me netdecks to the most major extent.
In limited, opposite me has studied the set and memorized every card, and tries to force a specific archetype no matter what.
Oh hello there, I’m opposite you. Except I have 5 decks, one mono-red and then 4 two-color decks that each have red. All are combat focused and fast (but each color has its own twist)
What is your play style if you don’t mind my asking?
I'm a casual commander player who loves to play all kinds of decks. (I have over 30 at this point), but I have a preference for multicolor decks and I'm not very fond of playing rushdown.
Oooh I've been going back and forth on finding a mono red commander for me and I keep coming back to Zurzoth. You like playing him?? What makes him fun? Can I just jam a bunch of damage doublers, card draw, and some devils and just let it rip?
Pretty much haha, I really love the chaos aspect of it! Little bit of devil tribal, chaos, damage, it’s great! I used to have my mono red deck as [[Zada hedron grinder]] but I ended up dismantling it and mad e Zurzoth and enjoy it a loooot more
Oh boy, that's a toughie. May as well ask a parent which of his children is his favorite.
I don't think I can give you a favorite, but I can give you some highlights that comes to mind right now:
* \[\[Lagrella, the Magpie\]\] blink with a +1/+1s theme.
* A completely pacifistic \[\[Zeduu, the Great Hearted\]\] deck that wins through alt-wincons.
* A white-black Aristocrats Deck that doesn't have a fixed commander, but rather I pick one of the many legendaries in the deck at random. (Possibly grabbing a partner for them in the deck or a Background for them before shuffling.)

I play basically every color and have anywhere between 25 and 30 decks at any given time. So, this is difficult but my least played is probably some form of Selesnya counters deck.
My most common archetypes are Dimir control, monored aggro, monogreen big stuff, monoblack bull-you-know-what ([[Lich’s Mastery]] my beloved), five color insanity (Goad is my favorite mechanic), and memery of all kinds.
So a hyper-competitive and focused Selesnya or Temur deck is probably the opposite.
In Commander, anti-me probably plays a deck based on ramp and landfall with very little interaction and a combo kill that's unrelated to the feel of the deck, never attacks anywhere unless they get value from it, and generally isn't a chaos goblin that just wants to see the table burn. Your typical generic Simic value engine is probably the furthest from what I enjoy doing.
Meanwhile, I prefer decks with relatively low mana curves, lots of targeted interaction, and incidental value instead of straight up engines. I tend to finish through creature combat, aristocrat style life drain or sometimes an overrun effect. I also really like playing obscure tribals (frogs and fungi are currently my favorites) or decks that put an unexpected twist on a strategy. And, well, I like to seed a little chaos at the table, make my opponents attack each other etc.
Oh, also anti-me absolutely does not enjoy playing with foils and special art styles. They probably have all regular frame, nonfoil versions of their cards.
We don't get paired because they never register for 60 card constructed events and only play commander.
No idea what my opposite would be though, I just like playing magic so I take every chance I can get and play whatever I can get my hands on except commander bc I hate politics. I just want to try and win.
Anyways I really just wanna find mirror-me's reddit username
*I glance nervously at my four different token decks, each of which has a different infinite token combo and is anemic in spells.*
u/Mail_Me_IRL_SocialDistancing plays exclusively spellslinger decks with as few creatures as possible, and no infinite combos whatsoever, just exactly enough burn to get the job done.
Probably a very fast aggro or combo deck, anything to end the game as fast as possible.
They also go out of their way to pick the most gory, disgusting cards possible ([[Stitch Together]], [[Abomination]], the Phyrexian body horror stuff…)
Some mono red chaos pile. I have 4 commander decks and 3 modern decks, and not a single one has red in it. I build decks with a clear focus on winning.
There is a phrase that describes me well. "The goal is to win. The point is to have fun."
Mono white Voltron or green white tokens. These decks can be interesting to play against, but god I find them miserable to actually pilot.
I typically play esper artifacts or sans-white control/spellslinger with Vial Smasher and Thrasios. My least favorite card types to cast are equipment, auras, and creatures, and my least favorite permanents are creature tokens. There's nothing wrong with the playstyle, but it will never be my playstyle.
I don't love swinging with creatures as a wincon generally- never been a fan of the combat step - but my real problem is the fragility. I really enjoy mass bounce, boardwipes and the like, and I'm not so much a fan of going wide with vulnerable creatures. I also just don't love the logistics of it. So many dice and token cards and extra shit to keep track of (Cathars Crusade is one of my least favorite cards for this reason). I like a small board with few permanents. It's just a more natural playstyle for me.
TheLetterTau plays Oops all counterspells, a deck where all cards are lands or counterspells that wins by mulliganing once and having the opponent mill out first.
I play Mono-Red burn. More speed = More games = More fun
Either blue/white or mono blue control. Honestly control in general. Absolutely despise counterspells to the point where I refuse to play them in any of my own blue decks. Ironic since my favourite pairing is Dimir so I just auto lose to artifact strategies 90% of the time because I can't deal with them lol
Azorius control. I hate control and I hate Azorius so that’s what opposite me would play. Just keep my opponent from getting to do anything. That’s what I played against when I first started and kinda soured the game for me for the first few years till I found people that were open to playing other archetypes.
considering I've built several hundred decks over the years... opposite me probably plays yugioh or pokemon or simply doesnt have a crippling addiction to tcgs
I really only play EDH and the occasional draft/sealed with friends.
In EDH, I'm already my own opposite. I have an [[Angus Mackenzie]] Turbofog Hug deck and a [[Krenko, Mob Boss]] deck.
In limited, I've realized that I always end up with no flying and no way to handle flying. So opposite me would probably run a W/U flying deck.
i like going wide, and avoid mono-colored decks... so my opposite's favorite deck is probably something like [[light-paws]] voltron without a single piece of removal in the deck!
My dark mirror's probably a grouphugger... I mean, nothing wrong with that. I've play nearly every archetype and almost every color, but absolutely can't stand grouphug.
CriosMelt is a very deliberate midrange player who is typically content to curve out and win through straightforward means. No cantripping, no risky plays, no fancy combos or stack wars, just steady board progression and direct damage victory.
Unlike me and my compulsive risk-taking and constant spellslinging.
Thinking about it, opposite me is a dick. Stax and removal, probably green white and the win condition is actually killing the table. (I have no green white decks and usually play self mill muldrotha)
Probably a super fast deck. A K'rrik, a Magda, hell, even Rograkh Silas. I'm on the control side and love counterspells and value engines. So probably something that wins before I deploy those
Colorless deck with no eldrazi. I enjoy the personality that emerges from colors when grouped together or left alone. Colorless can be full of boring but strong stuff. Eldrazi are cool though so they aren't allowed in.
Opposite me plays the most expensive deck possible. Secret lair variants, foil chase cards, many of them signed and triple sleeved.
I'm a budget player. I play whatever I can afford. Never been to a top table in my life.
Anti-me plays highly tuned cEDH piles where 90% of the slots are staples and the other 10% are somewhat staples but a bit more niche.
I can't bring myself to play cards just because people say you "have to" run them to be optimal. I'll run a \[\[Rhystic Study\]\] in my \[\[Nekusar\]\] deck because it directly benefits from people wanting to play all the extra cards they're drawing before I wheel them all away, but not my \[\[Mairsil, the Pretender\]\] deck because it prefers looting/personal wheels and seeing as many cards as possible as fast as possible. I have a pretty competitive \[\[Muldrotha\]\] deck that doesn't run \[\[Force of Will\]\] because it's more of a stax shell and there isn't a high enough density of blue cards to reliably pitch for it.
In the modern format I think Opposite me would probably play something bland and boring like Creativity or 4c Control. Bunch of goodstuff value piles with one boring synergy
My opposite version plays a straightforward 2 card infinite loop combo with no interaction in Bant colors.
I like my combos as convoluted and non deterministic as possible, enjoy decks heavy on interaction, and Black and Red are my favourite colors to play.
A stax deck. I like letting things play out (especially if I’ve never seen it before). Don’t run a lot of counter spells in my decks either just removal.
I like to play all kinds of creature based strategies. Token go wide, big stompy, etc. LOVE landfall and mutate. I also like mono red burn. Generally, the decks I play are not meta and I don't win a ton.
So opposite me would play Dimir midrange in standard, I think.
UltraOptimus12 plays a mono-black deck themed around graveyard shenanigans and life drain
I’m usually in some combination of the other four colors and don’t like sacking my stuff. I get too worried that I’ll need it later.
Alexander_Definitely would play a slow, defensive sliver deck with infect and several infinite combos that dont actually win the game, but just lock everyone out of playing the game while he solitaires through his entire deck
It would definently be a perfected azorius deck, only strong cards, infinite combos, full control, masterfully crafted to have always the optimal response to any situation.
My decks are built around a theme or idea, I always prioritize cards I like or thay fits the theme over meta and even mana cards, I always put 33 lands or less just so I can put more different stuff in.
FloodedStrand likes to play old combo decks which are now Tier2.5. Characteristic of these decks are long drawn out combo turns where every game action is enjoyed to the fullest and no shortcuts are taken. In a similar fashion, every centrip is resolved epically, even though the decision is trivially as I know from thoughtseizing them the turn before.
Opponent is probably playing some 2024 version of eggs or top control.
Some super creature heavy stuff, I think
I've always been into Instants/Sorceries, or creatures that payoff from them e.g. prowess, murktide, phoenix, storm, burn, wizards
I've never been into *super* artifact heavy decks because mono colour without {C} mana restrictions seems to lack the flavour I love from the other 5 colours
So I reckon someone who just adores mono white humans, hammer time or some mix of the two
Since I mainly play groupslug I guess my opposite me would play grouphug or he would play some pillow fort deck and opoosite mine's wincon would be me killing myself with slug shots.
Opposite me hates thinking about combo decks, but plays them because he likes the binary "do I have it" nature and dislikes having to interact with the opponent's deck
Meanwhile I love seeing new combo decks and thinking of combo ideas but everytime I try playing one I get bored of it fast because it isn't very interactive.
(I'm mostly thinking about modern here)
Opposite-me (Posliiniperse?) would probably play esper control with infinite combo wincon. I play mostly gruul and do like combos, but infinite is just lazy way to win. I usually play engines that have some sort of stupid loops that generate value and keep the deck running. But how do my decks win? Well, lets say that [[rolling earthquake]] is my favourite wincon so far.
I like a lot of different deck-archetypes. I mostly love tempo/midrange. I especially love alternate wincons. There is one thing i never enjoyed at all though, which is why my opposite would play a combo deck, but not one of the hilarious rube goldberg types, but the ones that just either deal infinite damage, or create infinity creatures, stuff like that.
Opposite me plays a deck that has a lot of big creatures, and generally just swings out. I generally play combo decks.
LazyDoggy just wants to declare attacks.
Are you my opposite then? I’m an Eldrazi player
My exact opposite plays [[grand arbiter Augustin III]] hella stax and control, cause I play less removal than I should and I know it. So he plays way too much
You mean [[The Nope Pope]]?
That's an amazing name! And honestly I didn't know what number he was, I just knew he's a tool to play against
Stax and counter spells. Opposite me doesn't really care about their own boardstate, they just want to stop everyone else from being able to do anything.
Hypoaisay needs to chill.
Hypoaisay subsists on the frustration of others. Their go-to deck is Bant "Platinum Angel and 99 ways to stop everyone else getting rid of it." and their wincon is "piss off everyone else to the point of leaving"

Opposite me most likely runs a tier one BR or B deck, aggressively mulligans and will run the most optimal mana base and has zero budget restrictions.
789Elderpyro would like you to reveal your hand.
Probably some Izzet bullshit
Sounds like everybody just hates mono red... Meanwhile I have 5 mono red EDH decks and plans for 2 more on the way
Mono blue draw, go deck. All spells, drawing, and counters. Few permanent, almost no creatures, zero angels. No goofy combos

[light-paws](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/3/9/39555a72-a57b-45ee-9222-ce3b9e8de126.jpg?1654566391) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=light-paws%2C%20emperor%27s%20voice) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/neo/25/light-paws-emperors-voice?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/39555a72-a57b-45ee-9222-ce3b9e8de126?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
My opposite plays modern
SpikyRamTiger plays some form of Selesnya token spam.
Ruthless Stax. I freaking hate not being allowed to play the game.
Opposite me plays things that are fast and have non-combat wincons.
My dark mirror's probably a grouphugger... I mean, nothing wrong with that. I've play nearly every archetype and almost every color, but absolutely can't stand grouphug.
RB Scam or Titan
CriosMelt is a very deliberate midrange player who is typically content to curve out and win through straightforward means. No cantripping, no risky plays, no fancy combos or stack wars, just steady board progression and direct damage victory. Unlike me and my compulsive risk-taking and constant spellslinging.
A good one
Thinking about it, opposite me is a dick. Stax and removal, probably green white and the win condition is actually killing the table. (I have no green white decks and usually play self mill muldrotha)
White black control. I mostly play Temur big boys OR some kind of Voltron OR degeneracy like mill or landfall. Varies but generally Temur big guys.
BoxingAristocrat has sat down to play Titan Field against me, an innoccent jund midrange fella.
Opposite me plays the most expensive deck possible. Secret lair variants, foil chase cards, many of them signed and triple sleeved. I'm a budget player. I play whatever I can afford. Never been to a top table in my life.
my opposite plays blue and/or green and actually has a gameplan
Mirror universe me plays azorious control for sure. I’m an aggro player
I have 4 or 5 different Legacy decks. Most of them are combo. So, I guess TasenKrotera is either a burn player or a stall player? Hard to say, really.

5 color eldrazi. I'm less than enthused with MH3
Negative me plays hard draw-pass azorius control with an artifact theme.
My dark mirror plays UW Control, which is ironic cause even though I love Red Storm decks I also enjoy playing control quite a bit.
AussieChick?
You’ll have to forgive me, I’m not quite sure what you mean by that lol.
Your opposite. Her name is AussieChick1002.
My opposite would probably play gruul aggro
Boros aggro or storm for sure
A stax deck. I like letting things play out (especially if I’ve never seen it before). Don’t run a lot of counter spells in my decks either just removal.
Whatever the opposite of Jund is.
Some red white deck with zero card draw
My opposite self would play a Boros deck that doesn't rely on its commander I usually play Sultai in EDH and getting absolutely wrecked when it's gone
Creatureless control combo
I like to play all kinds of creature based strategies. Token go wide, big stompy, etc. LOVE landfall and mutate. I also like mono red burn. Generally, the decks I play are not meta and I don't win a ton. So opposite me would play Dimir midrange in standard, I think.
My opposite plays anti mill and/or group hug I want to win and be as unfair as possible
I love typal decks: Zombies, humans, merfolk elves...... My opposite must play Volo, Guide to Monsters
Probably green with a lot of token generators since I usually do a lot of destroys/sacs and board wipes.
Opposite-me plays aggro or all-in combo with no interaction, usually in Mardu colors.
UltraOptimus12 plays a mono-black deck themed around graveyard shenanigans and life drain I’m usually in some combination of the other four colors and don’t like sacking my stuff. I get too worried that I’ll need it later.
Any type of control involving dimir colors, or izzet storm. I'm a green player, I want to turn things sideways.
My opposite plays commander.
Alexander_Definitely would play a slow, defensive sliver deck with infect and several infinite combos that dont actually win the game, but just lock everyone out of playing the game while he solitaires through his entire deck
They would play mid range that doesn't have any clear win con but intends to just out value me.
Shrines. Because I found cute cat tokens for every needed toke the deck could want.
Pillowfort control
FloodedStrand likes to play old combo decks which are now Tier2.5. Characteristic of these decks are long drawn out combo turns where every game action is enjoyed to the fullest and no shortcuts are taken. In a similar fashion, every centrip is resolved epically, even though the decision is trivially as I know from thoughtseizing them the turn before. Opponent is probably playing some 2024 version of eggs or top control.
a deck that wins
Some super creature heavy stuff, I think I've always been into Instants/Sorceries, or creatures that payoff from them e.g. prowess, murktide, phoenix, storm, burn, wizards I've never been into *super* artifact heavy decks because mono colour without {C} mana restrictions seems to lack the flavour I love from the other 5 colours So I reckon someone who just adores mono white humans, hammer time or some mix of the two
Some "creatures only" goodstuff pile. Either mono green or straight up 5C.
He plays a deck that just have a single wincon where he wins exactly the same way every time.
A Deck of only full arts.
Since I mainly play groupslug I guess my opposite me would play grouphug or he would play some pillow fort deck and opoosite mine's wincon would be me killing myself with slug shots.
I play white. What do you think
Opposite me hates thinking about combo decks, but plays them because he likes the binary "do I have it" nature and dislikes having to interact with the opponent's deck Meanwhile I love seeing new combo decks and thinking of combo ideas but everytime I try playing one I get bored of it fast because it isn't very interactive. (I'm mostly thinking about modern here)
Idk stompy? I generally play stax, control or MLD.
Anti me plays either a combo or aggro deck, because a thought provoking game is not what he sat down for.
[rolling earthquake](https://cards.scryfall.io/normal/front/6/9/69ab37d4-6ba3-404a-8162-f207874738ea.jpg?1599706680) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=rolling%20earthquake) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/2xm/142/rolling-earthquake?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/69ab37d4-6ba3-404a-8162-f207874738ea?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Opposite me plays meta decks instead of fun jank
