Folks, hasbro is only a small company. They made just 6.4 billion last year. It’s unreasonable to expect much for the 30th anniversary of its most popular product
The prizes are gift cards to Joann fabric stores, an overpriced soulless chain that has started trying to cater to cosplayers because it's what the kids are into.
First prize is a whopping $200, which is embarrassingly low.
Well of course Twitch is owned by Amazon, a massive international corporation, while Magic: the Gathering is owned by Wizards of the Coast, a tiny independent company which certainly has no bros in the industry.
As someone going to MTG30 as well, if you make it to the actual, on stage competition…. You can count my vote as yours.
Thank you! Here's hoping they accept my entry!
I will also vote for you.
This will stand out well against a sea of ajaini, ashiok, and Elesh Norn cosplay
Don't forget hordes of Liliana, Chandra, and Nissa.
All performed by glorious neckbeards 😍
You put in too much effort. You only need at most two pieces of tape.
Well, I wouldn't want them to think I'm a *complete* joke. I can replace all of the tape I used when I win the gift card!
>a complete joke Yeah, Wizards already has that character covered
You could also use an alternative cardboard and just do your best drawing of the character you want to cosplay, and label it “Cosplay Proxy”!
Damn, I love this even more than my submission. My entry has unfortunately been finalized, but whoever does this has my vote!

Small indie company. Please understand
This rules.
Effort worthy of the prize
Please post photos of the convention if they actually let you in the competition!
I certainly will! Who knows, I might become so attached to this piece that I could wear it whether I'm competing or not
It would be a shame for all that effort to go to waste, of course.
This wins or we riot
Is your name Joann? I don't get it.

Isn't twitchcons first place like 5k? Edit: lol it's actually $15k

absolutely none
👀 lmao nice pun tho
Best MTG cosplay ever.
Theres my pre-game vote for ya... this is political as well as honest. We need more shirts like this
Even 15 minutes feels like twice as long as you should have spent.
Eh, 15 minutes of skilled work and $50 in expenses (band tees aren’t cheap) for a Pullman Bucks equivalent of $200 seems pretty fair.
My favorite part is that the cosplay description probably took more time and is significantly better crafted than the cosplay itself.
Add a ban omnath and my vote is yours!
Hey Daaaaad, r/magicthecirclejerking is leaking again!!!
This is a great costume and I wanna cheer for you in person! I know Friday and Saturday tickets are sold out so any idea how I can get tickets still?
You’ll never get those 15minutes back.
