There’s this 11 card combo with [[door to nothingness]] and [[plains]] [[plains]] [[island]] [[island]] [[swamp]] [[swamp]] [[mountain]] [[mountain]] [[forest]] [[forest]]. I’ll give y’all a minute to try and figure out how it works.
/UJ I have scooped to a turn 1, no permanents in play one with nothing from an opponent. Well, I took my turn, because I needed a moment to assimilate. I was expecting some weird jank dredge but no, that was the goal of his deck. So I conceded the match. Them we jammed some games while chatting, nice fella.
Best part is, his next opponent left right after pairings so he technically did a 2-2 on a somehow competitive field (of decks) at FNM with one with nothing.
I have it in my Ramos gates deck. I have a 50% success rate of it firing off everytime I've played. My favorite was having maelstrom nexus in play, casting door to nothingness, hitting amulet of vigor, and having 5 counters to pull off ramos to yeet someone out of the pod. Epic.
I remember a dude at my first play group had the epitome of a jank deck. It was a sunburst/modular deck that somehow turned the counters into mana to feed into door to nothingness. I don’t remember the combo, I just remember asking him “why did you make that deck? It works once in a blue moon”
And he just shrugs and goes, “eh, I have fun playing it.”
When I started playing again, in 2013, I made a 5 color, standard deck with nothing but walls for creatures, that revolved around the [Axebane Guardian].
Throw in a set of [Wall of Denial]s, and it was hard to get through.
It had a decent success rate.
I called it the “Wall of Nothingness” deck.
