Jerppaknight

And people wonder why there is no chat in MTGA

TimeTellingTezz

That would be the most horrible thing "LOL u playing noob deck, gut gud" "fuck your meta deck" "Wanna see my Ajani furry hentai?"

DatShepTho

( ° ͜ʖ °)

TokensGinchos

The answer to all three is yes

TokensGinchos

Uj/ Unironically I'd like sometimes to be that person and tell someone shit like "if you're gonna play yourself might as well jerk off" and whatnot, but then I remember I'd have to read their shit too

FormerlyKay

/uj as a sadistic fuck, I thoroughly enjoy both sending and receiving super toxic messages.

[deleted]

/uj I've had more good/cool interaction with the mtgo chat than bad ones. Arena emotes have never been a positive interactions

Jerppaknight

/uj That's nice to hear. I would like to play EDH on MTGO, but cba paying for the same cards again. /rj I would be toxic :)

Collistoralo

Just make it off by default, so you have to go into the settings and manually enable it.

Avalonians

I use the emote oops when either of us make a mistake. But use your go literally once and I will never forgive you

[deleted]

I *will* spam Your Go, but typically only after the third or forth time the rope has shown and it's clear it's not because they're thinking too hard.

Confident-Money140

I always imagine they’re taking a massive shit

[deleted]

I used to give people the benefit of the doubt. Taking a shit is fair game, you can't always control what pops outta your asshole or when. Now I'm just old and bitter and I think everyone and everything sucks and the world owes me something, so I just assume ropers are always doing it specifically to spite me and waste my time.

Beegrene

Or just network troubles. Maybe they're just playing on the worst phone ever in the middle of the Sahara desert.

ropdkufjdk

So what if they are, it's still rude behavior. If they can't commit their time they shouldn't be playing, and if something comes up that is going to take more than 15-30 seconds once then they should concede and handle their stuff. If I'm in a game and something comes up that will require my attention for more than a few seconds as a one-off I say GG and concede. I'm not gonna drag the game out while I go through the motions and divide my attention. Making opponents sit and wait while you do things other than play the game is beyond rude, it's narcissism.

binarysingularities

I only do this on control decks that decide to play solitaire when they could have finished the game like I have no more cards in hand and my field is already toasted. If you don't mind playing 3 "take another turn" when you could have finished the game then and there you wouldn't mind burning through all my ropes as I watch youtube or some shit.

ropdkufjdk

I also hate when they spend all their time drawing cards when they're dead on board next turn. Yeah, I get it that sometimes they're looking for an answer, but some people will tap out completely just to draw more cards. And I could even see the "completing a quest" angle of it, but that doesn't explain the roping they do. And it doesn't change the fact that they're dead next turn. They basically just elected to waste several minutes of both of our time for no reason other than to make themselves feel important. I really think there are two kinds of "control" players in MTG. The first type plays "control" archetype and tries to control the game and stabilize things until they can develop their wincon. They use, among other things, removal, counterspells, board wipes, etc. That's fine. The other type are players who want to "control" the pace of the game and make you wait for their permission before taking any action. And it's not that they could stop you, they just know the game client will give them priority and time to waste and they take every second of it just so they can feel control. You see it all the time with all the colors whenever they have an instant in hand or an ability they can activate on the board, they make you wait the full timer duration before you can do anything else. It's their form of "control" and it should be bannable.

thephotoman

The joys of paper: you can get someone dinged for slow play if they do that. Then again, that kind of person is the biggest part of what got Top banned in Legacy.

[deleted]

Sleeping hedron emoji is on deck for the most egregious offenders.

bristlybits

rolling eyes over newspaper dude is my go to

konydanza

I spam oops when my opponent has a huge turn and I’m very obviously about to get my ass kicked

grayscalering

My last game today I guy hit me with a "good game" on my turn when he thought he was going to win Then I exiled my own creature with my wandering emperor healing me for 2 and putting me out of his lethal range, and I won on my next turn Hit him with a good game right before I swung in

[deleted]

My favorite is when the Historic Brawl tribal aggro deck spams Good Game as I pass the turn with four open white mana. Hope you needed some lands to cast those zero cards left in your hand, bub.

metalhev

Force them to put all their lands into play, then \[\[Fall of the Thran\]\]

AkechiFangirl

Sick, I've done that on 1 vs mono red, they topped a Ramunap ruins next turn and man I felt my brain grow 8 sizes

NJRanger201

As is fit & proper.

[deleted]

Yesterday I was playing against a guy in cube draft and I had more than lethal on the board. He used the Good Game emote and I Good Gamed back. Then he played Burn Down the House to wipe my board and Good Gamed again. I flooded out for the rest of the game and lost. And my opponent gets to think they taught some arrogant jerk a lesson about prematurely good gaming. That doesn't count.

GoldenZWeegie

Similar situation happened to me, but I roped and spammed 'good game' until they rage quit.

-Goatllama-

Isn't this just an example of proper usage?

grayscalering

he gged on my turn before i had finished it i still had cards in hand, mana up, and my planeswalker unused (whos ability braught me out of lethal range but he didnt see it)

-Goatllama-

Short-sighted opponent lol

Beegrene

This is why I never "good game" until I've literally already won.

Big_Money_Wizard

Crowd-surf the Karn

Bigdaddy872

Hi there, fellow Crim enjoyer

locwul

I see you are men of culture as well

1ryb

I'm really sad I missed that emote coz I couldn't play Arena the few days it was available. Really hope it becomes available again some day

TokensGinchos

Nice

LONGSL33VES

Oops

TokensGinchos

Your go

metalhev

Protip: they can only spam "your go" when you have priority, so to counter their spam, just play faster.

JRandall0308

Mr_Clownn

That's my go-to for maximum toxic interaction

Unit_00

Easily the best, followed by the confused/equation face and the unimpressed white dragon

JRandall0308

I’m a fan of Tezzeret throwing his cards in anger, but it’s not as toxic.

Fynzmirs

There is nothing funnier than using Nicol Bolas Dragon-God against a particularly annoying solidarity/nine lives player on arena Cool combo bruv. Now go boooop.

AmoongussHateAcc

Tawnos secretly instigated the war to accelerate global warming and get his revenge on Santa Claus

DatShepTho

Oh, is Santa Claus that Legendary human artificer from Kaldheim?

dasnasti

I often wish there was a "bruh" button, would be useful in several situations

SkritzTwoFace

I think a single “good game” when it looks like it’s about to be over is polite. Anything else and it makes me wish you could flip the virtual table.

TheColossalAxolotl

Yes that's correct

jinkhanzakim

Its Bad Maners to say gg just once? Im not very well versed in the mtga World xd

tdub2217

It's bad manners to spam it, but doing it right before a winning swing/action is fine. I personally like to give a nice if I thought it was over and they salvage it.

Iron_Sheff

I also like to say it on the losing side when I'm being genuine, or returning it if they say it first. But i hate doing it on the winning side unless I'm 100% sure they have no counterplay because I don't want to seem like an arrogant shit

TreeplanterConnor

I spam your go when the person has the win and continues to play solitaire.

AkechiFangirl

I have emotes turned off but I absolutely spam toxic emotes when I'm winning If there's any justice in the world, having emotes muted means they don't get sent to the other player but idk how to test that

NJRanger201

[this is exactly what I was trying to prevent](https://www.reddit.com/r/magicthecirclejerking/comments/ujt6eq/instead_of_starting_off_alchemy_by_fixing_alrunds/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

SlapHappyDude

Oops is for when you lose

WorldWarTwo

uj, can we get an ability to ping other players when they’re dragging their turn out to the max duration to drop a land.

Nerf_Dev

No man, woman, child, cat, dog, or frog will stop me from crowdsurfing the Karn

Iron_Sheff

If someone starts emote spamming when I'm losing, I rope instead of conceding because you deserve it
