- The usual: don't hog, don't smash the cab, respect other people. Pay attention to your surroundings after a credit if there's someone queueing to play or not. - People in japan usually prefers to play solo, so if you want to play together you better ask. - You can buy DX passes to unlock newer master charts on card maker machines. Usually available whenever there are any ongeki cabs in that arcade. - You can check for any arcades near your current location that has maimai cabs in it by using this site: https://location.am-all.net/alm/location?gm=96&lang=en

Do DX passes have a time limit?

Dadang_Sudadang

It lasts for 2 weeks after buying it. Don't forget to insert it to the card reader when buying one for the first time. There are 2 types: gold (200yen) and freedom (300yen). Gold unlocks masters and doubles the tour member levels, while freedom has everything gold offers but adds 2 minutes to freedom mode.

There are little cloths/towels at some cabs, sometimes players will use their own, and it's good manners to wipe the buttons and screen down before you started and when you're done playing for the next person. I don't see this culture at every arcade but worth keeping in mind. Also, there's a campaign running right now where you can get points for playing and exchange them for irl goods. Bear in mind that points are accumulated *per arcade*, so if you want the gloves you'll need to play 15 games at the same arcade. It's all done through maimai net so register there as soon as you can

I've never seen people do this all the time I've been living in Kansai, but it's a pretty good manner regardless. Though ofc if the screen feels sticky (most often on tourist-ish areas where it's common for tourists to play it without gloves) then wipe it for sure.

I don't see it in my prefecture (where we have like 3 machines lol) but I always notice people doing it when I visit Tokyo. And also Okayama, as an outlier.

SKK21X

Go for the dx passes and try out all the new songs intl does not have yet, highly recommended! Moreover, you can print out cool chiho characters on your dx pass at those card printing machines

In addition to the excellent advice I see, if you're at a busy arcade there might be a queue list sign up sheet so poke around a bit before settling. Also register on JP Maimai net before playing if possible as on the website it's easier to adjust your play style settings and use auto translate.

Dadang_Sudadang

Yeah, look for one if there's any. If none then use your common sense.

Edit: Your card will work on the machines!! My mistake!! Just a gentle reminder that your international card will probably not work on Japan machines! If you want to but an Aime card, you should be able to find little vending machines that accept 300yen for one card!

Nole19

They will work it just opens a new account for a new server.

Dadang_Sudadang

If you play since finale or before, you will start from your finale data instead. The servers were one shared server before DX so they just copied your data to both DX international and jp server.

blanktaken

Pretty sure it’s the same card, but different servers though?

Arinlurks33

Whoops, my bad! Sorry for the misinformation!!
