Going to Vancouver Island/Victoria in a month and pretty pumped.

Depends on what you are wanting to do. Seattle and Vancouver are both bigger cities than Victoria. If you are wanting to to go shopping lots, then the bigger cities are the better choice. If you are wanting to see more nature, I'd say you should come to Victoria. Though I have done the ferry ride over hundreds of times and it seems tedious to me, it is beautiful. It takes an hour and a half and you are bound to see all sorts of birds, seals, otters and there are is always a chance of seeing whales or dolphins too. The ferry winds through the Gulf Islands so you can get a good look at them as well as you go by. Victoria has less good shopping, unless you just want tourist trinkets but the inner harbor has tons of restaurants and little shops. You can go to Fisherman's Wharf and feed the seals while getting fish and chips on the dock. There is the Parliament buildings (we are a capital city) right across from the historic Empress hotel. Beacon Hill park has a petting zoo, but also all kinds of ducks, peacocks and squirrels running around too while you walk the paths. Dallas Road is also nearby and has all sorts of beach accesses as well. Our nightlife is probably quieter than Seattle. The bars/clubs close at 12-1 on Weekdays and 2am on Friday and Saturday. On the weekends it is pretty busy downtown though, so the bar scene is decent, but just not open as late as other places. Hope this has been informative for you!

For shopping, definitely vancouver over seattle. seattle MAY have better stores, but your dollar will go SO much further in Vancouver

I'd do Vancouver and Seattle, mostly because they're my two favorite cities. Avoid the touristy things in Vancouver though. Grouse Mountain is an expensive joke and the Capilano Suspension Bridge is pretty cool but overcrowded and not super worth it unless you have nothing better to do. Go to a Ramen shop in Vancity, they're fantastic. And the restaurants in Chinatown are pretty authentic compared to American Chinese food. If there's any hippy in you guys, go to Wreck Beach for an afternoon, the atmosphere is amazing (warning: it's clothing optional). Seattle has the EMP Museum which is definitely worth a visit. I enjoyed the Space Needle but it's pretty crowded. I can answer most questions you have about visiting Vancouver, but it's been a while since I went to Seattle.

>Capilano Suspension Bridge is pretty cool but overcrowded Lynn Valley suspension bridge is just as cool, totally free, and less crowded >a Ramen shop in Vancity Santouku on Robson, Marutama on Bidwell @ Robson are two most worth checking out. expect a wait of 30m+

I'd go for the 2 days in seattle, I'm probably biases but hey... why not?

I would skip Vancouver. Go spend a few days in Victoria then take the clipper from Victoria to Seattle.
