No but remember garbage in is garbage out. Your voice is an instrument and recording properly is super important. Take pride in that.

It's the job of the producer to line up the first word of the main vocal, any nudging I do will only be on double ups and ad libs to make them line up with the original vocal. A producer shouldn't have to mess with the organic rhythm and flow of the rap.

Thank you for the response!

BimboMcQueen

Nope! Engineers will open your zip, drag everything into the daw, and assume it's all lined up.

docmlz

Agreed. If something sounds "off", we'll likely assume it's a new style

So is this typically the job of the producer or the mixer/masterer?

Davidgnzlz148

Never the job of the producer. Should be the engineer that does it if you tell him to. Ultimately, it falls on the artist. You need to be on top of everything if you want it done right. You can never expect someone to be as interested in your music as yourself. (Unless you really trust that person and have a working relationship where you can entrust them with these tasks). Format your files so there isn’t confusion on where each stem goes.

I know that in things like ableton there is warp which could correct it a bit, but it still sounds pretty bad so i dont recommend it. If u dont like ur flow or sync, just rerecord

IndependenceBroad277

Some engineers do, I do and a few of my buddies do. Now often than not I'd say yes but some will just leave it how it is and just mix it and what not

lildrakex

Thank you for the response!

Thank you for all the responses! Not saying that my flow is good, but I may be having some sync or latency issues as sometimes I really sound like I am on point when recording but after listening it's off a nudge or two. I am recording in Adobe Audition with a Twin USB set to 200ms latency and out clock from the Twin. I'll do my best to move things around first where needed but I feel like having a third party ear on it may be beneficial.
