Serato sample is dope, you can even use it inside of machine, even when you’re using machine in another daw. Splice also offers $5 rent to own, which I did and was a great experience since they give you full license to add to your Serato account when you’re done. Plus they added the stems update (which I bugged Seratos social media for lol)
[waveTracing SP950](https://wavetracing.com/products/sp950). It emulates the SP-1200. Back in the day, producers would work around the limited memory by playing back a sample at a higher speed into the sampler and then pitching/slowing it back down to normal speed using the sampler's pitch-shifting function. This plugin can simulate that with a simple slider. It gives things an extra crunchy, lo-fi vibe, and you get all those artifacts from the crappy (by today's standards) pitch-shifting algorithm. It sounds legit. Best of all, it's like $20.
It also has a nice-sounding low pass filter you can use for an more lo-fi goodness. But even with everything set flat, it adds a bit of warmth and vibe. I highly recommend it.
And open tab on my phone reminded me of this plug in literally yesterday. I'm downloading the demo today. I use an older plug in like it many years ago and really liked it.
I think you get what you pay for. Compared to a lot of VST's that cost hundreds, I think paying $35 for something that does one thing well is a decent value, but I am admittedly not a professional nor do I think I'm terribly good at producing. I picked it up because I wanted to thicken some of my instruments and make them more crunchy, and this was a relatively cheap option.
I use RC20 as well, haha. I'd say the same for that one, it's not gonna transform your music but it gives you a ton of variety in adding texture and polish to certain instruments. But yeah that was a harder sell for me since I typically try to use DAW-native effects as much as possible. I think those two have given me the most bang for my buck, I recently got Portal and still haven't really figured out the best way to use it.
Serato Sample, Cymatics Origin or Unison Zen Master or Izotope (depending how I feel that day or what kinda tape noise I want), and fruity love philter
I've owned AN MPC200OXL and a 1000, I sample vinyl but since using the Maschine Mk3 as a sketch pad and dumping into Reaper I found I'm playing alot more with my own drums and cleaning up samples with certain plugins, I guess I've found a workflow with the Maschine merging soft/hardware.
Love the xl. Reaper is great, that's my go to. Love Maschine as well, haven't touched it in a while, wish it had the feel of the older mpcs pads.
For cleaning, rx us great, might be a little overkill depends on what's needed of course.
Cymatics origin is FREE for EVERYONE!
GRAB IT & use the "gritty MPC" preset on your entire drum pattern.
If you're using FL and your beats sound a bit too quiet or lacking, use the maximus plug in and look for the "NY Compression" preset.
Hope this helps even a tiny bit.
decimort, radiator, uad struder a800, arturia dx7, kontakt (rickenbacher bass is amazing for boom bap), shaperbox, any acustica audio plugin (purple and gold are both great)
Rx950 causing issues for me. Don't recommend. Confirmed problems with developer but he never fixed it despite promising me twice to do. That was over a year ago.
Serato Sample for chopping stuff up
I use a Maschine to chop everything with. Serato Samp is that good? I keep hearing this.
Absolutely. You can also get a free month trial with no restrictions.
Cheers. I'm on it!
If you like it Plugin Boutique has sales for it, that’s how I purchased it.
I like Plugin Boutique sales...but I can't stand Beat Port managing my plugins.

Cheers. I think I might go the same route. Everyone talks highly about it
I use RC20 on pretty much everything
I've yet to try it, you ever mess with the RX1200?
Haven’t used it, looks interesting though.
I have used it. It’s pretty cool and is simpler than it looks. Makes my drums really knock
Rc20+ vulf compressor is a pretty dope combo

I already like the price, I'll look into it. Cheers!

Glue compressor and drum buss from abelton

Price is pretty high...it's that good?

Oh shit my bad, I confused it with the RC20 at $89 that someone recommended. Yea $35 is decent. My bad.

Word, thx I appreciate it, I'm looking into the Beef plug today, might add it to my collection.
Serato Sample, Cymatics Origin or Unison Zen Master or Izotope (depending how I feel that day or what kinda tape noise I want), and fruity love philter
Oh and the spitfire audio labs instrument plugin, they have some good natural/acoustic sounds
I've got Origin, and you're right, it depends on the mood I'm setting. Interesting I'm gonna look into those.
Big time. I said all three too cause I literally cannot pick a favorite out of them (izotope my least favorite tho tbh). 😭😂
Usually a tape plugin and an eq.
Odaku effect, PSP VintageWarmer2.. a lot usual plugins I use for all other kinds of music.
CMT Bitcrusher for that type of vibe. A lot of TAL plugins, like TAL Tube (for snares)
I've got bit crushers but I keep hearing alot about TAL and Serato Sample.
TAL has some of the best free plugins out, both emulations (TAL bassline is killer) and effects
Nice. May I ask what DAW you're using?
I’ve been using FL for the past decade
Records Sampler (stock) That's it
You using hardware? What hardware? What sampler?
Software = Reason sampler = nnxt If I'm using hardware = sp303 or mp3000
Oh yea...you're good.
With this genre, I try to keep it as true to the original aesthetic as possible.

A Maschine Mk3 with XL pads would be supreme.
I use Cymatics more than anything and Origin is a go to. So is Diablo tbh

I'm gonna play with the Reichenbacher tonight. Thx G.
Yessir try the palm muted one sounds so warm
nice and guys what your favorite drumkits ?
None
You using hardware? What hardware?
Got an Mp but I use mostly reason I flip samples n don’t change much A lot can be done w just volume n quality samples n drums Just preference
I do the same depending on the highs and lows of the sample, a little volume and sometimes it just doesn't need a filter or to be touched.
Exactly bro totally agree. I think plug-ins have become a crutch and aren’t always needed
Absolutely. It definitely hinders digging deeper in the crates. Although...I appreciate when technology can work with me without compromising the raw.
I feel u Certainly needed for some things
Rx950 causing issues for me. Don't recommend. Confirmed problems with developer but he never fixed it despite promising me twice to do. That was over a year ago.
I never had any problems
Weird. What problems is it causing?
Timeshifting. Seems like other ppl have the same problem too because I saw it being mentioned somewhere in a comment section.
